This tucked away rustic and rather quirky dog-friendly hideaway sits in a very quiet location only a few minutes' walk to all the eateries, cafes and shops that make Thornham so desirable for a short break or longer stay.
Set over three floors, this stylish end-of-terrace barn sleeps six very comfortably and is well located in the pretty village of Thornham with is harbour, beach and coastal and countryside walks. A clever conversion of an old barn, the property still retains its original character with exposed beams, vaulted ceilings and now boasts three beautifully furnished bedrooms and bathrooms. The decor is rustic and quirky throughout with the owner making use of old scaffolding boards, earthy colours and bright pops of colour to make the open plan kitchen/dining/living area the perfect place to retreat to after a busy day exploring. The second floor master bedroom suite is stunning; with a four-poster bed positioned under a vaulted ceiling with four skylights making it perfect for stargazing whilst laying in bed. There is a further king-size bedroom and double bedroom on the first floor, again all with rustic floors and bags of room and all bathrooms feature stylish basins, showers and two have free-standing baths, providing the opportunity for a good wallow at the end of a long day.
Outside you'll find a table and chairs to the front of the property, perfect for morning coffee and reading the newspapers and plenty of communal space to the rear of the cottage which also provides a short cut to the fabulous Thornham Deli, less than a minutes walk away, where you can enjoy a hearty breakfast. Thornham is great for exploring the whole of the coast and with an excellent array of pubs/restaurants, one of the best fish and chip shops around and a famous farm shop with pick-your-own fruit farm at Drove Orchards, you won't be short of places to eat out.
This property is also available as a sleeps four low occupancy with bedroom two closed off: Hideaway Barn (4).

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hideaway Cottage, it had a perfect location close between Hunstanton and Brancaster. The property was of the highest standard; beautifully decorated and furnished, immaculately clean and little touches that made it just perfect. We did have to deal with the management company, and that was such an easy and quick service. We couldn’t make fault at all. We would definitely recommend a stay here and with Norfolk hideaways

No natural light is a problem
A very comfortable stay with wonderful beds and facilities. What let this property down was the lack of natural light except in the master bedroom on the top floor. It felt strange not having windows to look out of and I feel this should be pointed out before bookings are made. We would not return as a result or use this booking agent as I feel this important fact has been deliberately concealed. From speaking to a neighbour it was apparent that other guests shared my view and yet the agent still does not bring there lack of natural light to anyone’s attention.

Enjoyable, comfortable stay
A couple of observations…
There were no guidance notes to be found. We did not know where to put non-recyclable rubbish, although we did find recycling bins at the end of the drive.
The shower in the top floor bedroom leaked through the seal on the loo side of the cabinet. The tray failed to drain quickly too ?blocked. The extractor fan did not work very well.
The TV remote in the lounge did not work on standby.
Apart from that, we enjoyed a comfortable weekend, everything else was great. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely barn conversion
Lovely converted barn in a great location. Roomy, very comfortable, well equipped property in a quiet setting but in easy walking distance of Thornham deli, pubs and coast. Outside space is limited and in shared courtyard.

Lovely position great for a weekend
We had a lovely stay in Hideaway barn, I would only stay for a weekend as we found the inside quite dark and needed lights on during the day but having said that it is a lovely property and very well situated

Lovely stay in North Norfolk
Spent a week in February staying at Hideaway Barn with six adults, one baby and three dogs. The barn is beautifully presented and in a fabulous location. We had a minor maintenance issue during our stay and the service we received in response to this from Norfolk Hideaways was exceptionally prompt and professional. I would highly recommend both Hideaway Barn and Norfolk Hideaways. Only point to mention is that it should perhaps be made clearer that this property does not have its own garden. There is a communal space behind the buildings but no rear access out of this barn, which for a dog friendly property is not ideal.

Beautiful cottage
We had a lovely relaxing Christmas break in a cottage that had all the amenities you could ask for.
Only downside was that property had no natural light other than from front door.

A very pleasant winter break cottage
A very pleasant winter break cottage. It would have been nice to had some basics on arrival to make a cuppa but apart from that it was very comfortable. Lovely bedrooms and very good showers. Not sure as a summer cottage as no garden but perfect for winter.

A bit disappointed
We were shocked at the lack of daylight in the property and restrictions on window opening. Also the courtyard is the parking lot. We chose barn because of dogs so we’re dis that there wasn’t a courtyard that we could feed them in. If I book with Norfolk HideAways again I will definitely use chat option to double check I fully understand descriptions.
