Situated in the hills above the Holy Loch, we are on the edge of the holiday park with whom we have no affiliation as we are privately owned, though they do allow visitors paid use their facilities. We are a twenty minute ferry ride from Gourock.
On arrival you will find yourself in an idyllic setting, surrounded by stunning views. The lodge is accessible via two small steps to the deck straight from the car parking area. There are decks to the front and rear with seating and dining areas over looking our fab views.
Well behaved dogs are very welcome
The lodge is one of a small group located in a beautiful woodland setting . It is tranquil with stunning views and it is not unusual to find yourself face to face with one or more of the local deer or the several red squirrels who frequent our deck looking for nuts. There are many walks around the surrounding area, with the Argyll Forest Park, Pucks Glen and Benmore Gardens within minutes, and of course the amenities of Dunoon are a short drive or bus ride away with restaurants, cafes, shopping etc
The welcoming interior consists of a centrally heated spacious open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen. All rooms are furnished to a very high standard. The kitchen has modern units, a full size fridge freezer, modern oven and hob, kettle, microwave and coffee machine. As this is our holiday home too, we have added quality and touches you might not normally find in a rental. Bedroom 1 has a comfortable king size bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bedroom 2 has a comfortable double bed, wardrobe, dresser etc Towels, bed linen are provided and of good quality. The modern well appointed bathroom has a walk-in shower, with wc and vanity. Free WiFi. The lodge has multiple inbuilt USB charging points, smoke detectors, fire extinguisher and first aid kit.
We have a large wrap round deck with table and chairs on one side and seating etc overlooking the Holy Loch.
Dogs are welcome and they can bring well behaved owners :)

We stayed for an extended week in order to see Dunoon , and take in the Highland Games. The cabin was very nice. The area was very quiet with plenty of nature around. We would definitely stay here again.
The house had a very spacious living area/kitchen.with lots of rugs and comfortable furniture. The terrace/balcony overlooking the sea was really big, and sheltered, even when it was raining. Comfy seats there too.The bedrooms are tight. I had thought there was a king sized bed, but there is a double in each room, so we had one each.Really relaxing stay

The kingsize bed in one of our rooms is the UK Standard Kingsize of 5’ wide x 6.6’ in length - as we have advertised. The other room has a Standard double also as advertised.
The lodge was ready for us to check in earlier than we thought.it has everything we needed for our stay.beautiful décor throughout and absolutely immaculate.we enjoyed sitting out in the decking at night time especially.we hope to come back again soon.thanks to John for telling us about things to do and making us comfortable in his holiday home.
Had a great time in Dolphin Run. Very clean, and had everything we needed. Enjoyed taking the kids up to the activity centre at Hunter’s Quay and booked a few of the activities as members of the public. We needed reliable wifi in case we needed to work from home, and we were not disappointed. I imagine this lodge would be even better in the better weather. It has a lovely deck with ample seating for soaking up the fabulous view. We hope to return soon!

Property was comfortable and attractively decorated. Double bedrooms were spacious and beds comfy. Beautiful view from the lodge and sited in quiet peaceful area. Saw a deer. Communication with owner somewhat challenging, and we had to initiate the day before re. access etc. Would be helpful to have additional information re heating and cooker operation a welcome pack would have been nice heating was not on and took 24 hours to heat up once we got in
Had a lovely long weekend at the lodge. Very comfortable, clean and all you need provided. Kids loved the shower. Weather was on our side, so it was lovely to sit on the decking and relax. Would highly recommend this lodge to family and friends.
Our family including 2 teenagers and small dog stayed at the lodge for 4 nights. We were so impressed at how clean the place was and is clearly a home that gets well looked after.
The location was so peaceful with fantastic views of the loch and the deck to the front is not overlooked by any of the other lodges which can sometimes be an issue for people at this type of rental. From the excellent WiFi connection to the lovely decor and fixtures and fittings, dolphin lodge is a real credit to the owners and somewhere we hope to return in the future.

We are very appreciative of your kind words and glad you enjoyed your stay at Dolphin Run. You were a pleasure to deal with and we look forward to you return in the near future.
I live with my wife Carol and two golden retrievers just outside Glasgow where we run an IT company which, to say the least, can be a little bit stressful at times. Dunoon, and in particular the Holy Loch, has become our bolt hole, and I don't think I could ever adequately describe the feeling of catching an early Friday evening ferry and sailing across the Clyde leaving the weeks hassles at McInroy's Point to be picked up on the way back :) . The trip itself is calming and even though you are only twenty minutes from the mainland it feels like another world .
