The property is conveniently located in a busy corridor of northwest San Antonio near the Medical Center with quick and easy access to interstate travel, upscale restaurants, varied shopping malls, theme parks, grocery stores, and downtown San Antonio’s River Walk and Market Square. Military bases are only short distances away. The property is near USAA, Valero, UT Health Science Center, UTSA, La Cantera/Rim Shopping centers, and Six Flags/Fiesta Texas.

At the same time, you will find privacy and quiet once you drive onto the shady, oak-laden estate. Large outdoor spaces are available and include a front yard rock patio and a back yard deck for hanging out and relaxing. The grounds include a ranch-style main home and workshop, and the acreage provides ample space for all. Don’t be surprised to see deer grazing on the property and neighbors riding their horses around the area. After all, this is Texas country!

The retreat property has a pleasant, soothing ambience. It is spacious, fully furnished and complete with linens, kitchen ware, coffee makers, cable TV, internet service, washer/dryer, and iron/ironing board. Its 2-bedrooms, 1-bathroom with shower are tastefully decorated with all the comforts that make you feel right at home. The bedrooms have queen beds that sleep 4 comfortably.

There are three alternative seating areas for reading, conversations, or media. Villa Encino is stocked with games—Rummikub, Scrabble, Cards, Checkers, and Chess. Or you can try your luck at pitching some horseshoes!

Jhane and Gordon are excellent hosts. Their place is on beautiful property, with deer grazing and lovely landscape. The house was clean and had everything you would need. Beds very comfortable. We will stay there again.

Annual Texas Visit

We have stayed in many San Antonio homes over the years and this is the best by far. Perfect for my wife and I and the price is more than fair. Jhane and Gordon are exceptional hosts and we are looking forward to staying with them again next year.

Totally enjoyed our vacation!

We can’t say enough good things about our stay at Villa Encino. The house was comfortable in every way, and had everything we needed and so much more. The location was perfect for area activities, including great golf. Gordon and Jhane were wonderful hosts. So helpful and accommodating. They are great people!

My husband and I needed a vacation and this was the answer. All items one needs are provided. See are close to grocery stores and restaurants, gas stations and hospitals. Wildlife is an added plus. Invited 3 sisters to visit and this home allowed us the space.

Christmas with Family

We came here to have Christmas with our kids and grandson and everything was EXCELLENT..it was warm and cozy and had that home away from home atmosphere. The property is gorgeous! Jhane and her husband were very helpful when we needed assistance. I recommended to my sister and she plans on staying here in the future. My husband says we'll never stay at a hotel again! We highly recommend reserving a stay at this beautiful location.

A peaceful place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at this cute little house! The setting is very peaceful away from the noise and hustle of the city. We loved seeing the deer all around the neighborhood and even some right up by the front door. The beds were very comfortable and nice cold air conditioning in the Texas heat. If you’re looking for a nice place to stay that is close to things in the city but also a quiet retreat, this is the place! Gordon and Jhane were always very quick to respond to our messages.

Perfectly Comfortable

This cabin is very well maintained, clean, and well stock for anything you need. The property owners live onsite however the cabin has a secluded feel and a lot of wild life. At 8am grab a cup of coffee and pull up a chair to the back sliding glass door. The parade of deer and turkey will amaze you. In this location anywhere in San Antonio is easily accessible. We had a great time, thank you.

Country Paradise in the City

Can’t say enough about how well stocked and comfortable this two bedroom cottage is… very well appointed and decorated ! We spent a month and enjoyed returning to relax at the end of each day. The setting is quiet and country like while only a stone’s throw away from all the amenities. We miss the deer in the morning and going to sleep with the sound of crickets at night. Gordon and Jhane are very responsive to any needs or requests. We look forward to returning next year.

Great Home & Location

Family of 4 stayed in this home for a week. House was fully stocked and enjoyed the 2 bedrooms along with 2 living areas. Home had plenty of space for the 4 of us. Loved the patio to watch the deer in the morning and evening. Loved the BBQ pit provided as cooked 3 meals on the grill. Great location to downtown and to Six Flags/Top Golf and Lantana Golf Course! If you have the opportunity - don't pass on this home. You won't regret it! Will stay here again! Owners Jhane and Gordon excellent host

Tranquility

Villa Encino was the perfect base for refletion after fun days of playing with my children and grandchildren who live in San Antonio. Clean, peaceful and well appointed, Jhane and Gordon have thought of everything! The beds and linens were wonderful, with plenty of extra blankets. The deer and the song birds began and ended the days. My flights were changed by the airline and Jhane and Gordon were gracious and understanding of the situation. This was my first VRBO experience and it was fabulous!

Everything we needed

Very nice and comfortable stay. The owner was very courteous and took time to stock the house with every item you could need, they even had yogurts and water in the fridge which helped a lot when we had a late arrival and didn't have time to pick up groceries until the next day. Plenty of condiments and household supplies. If you're concerned about privacy don't be. Even though the owners home is on the same property it's a good distance away and we never felt encroached upon at any time. Yet they were very quick to respond with any questions. My only suggestion would be some window coverings for one of the rooms in case you have late sleepers. It does get get bright as soon as the sun is up, but no trouble with light coming in at night. One of the beds was firm and one a little softer so you have an option there. Most of the pillows were firm but there was a softer option in the closet. Oh and the furniture alone is worth the stay ... Seriously the most comfy couch / chair I have ever had the luck to relax upon. Wonderful stay, lovely quiet, tucked away property but still close to everything we needed in town. Would highly recommend and would be happy to stay again.

Read the glowing comments from others about peace, quiet, location, hosts. I'll simply say ditto, and comment more on the incredible completeness of the facilities. Fully supplied kitchen includes two types of coffee maker, toaster, essentially new non-stick pans carefully stored, dishwasher, trash compactor, charcoal for the bbq, all the paper goods you could need. Crystal wine goblets, multiple recliners including the couch, huge TV, Wifi, luggage racks and on and on. This is the best appointed VRBO I've ever run into, even internationally.

A hill country vibe in the middle of SAT.

I am from SAT and was visiting my parents. We really loved this little place. You would never know you were 2 minutes from I-10 because it was so quite and peaceful. We enjoyed seeing the deer and other wildlife that frequent the property. It was easy to find and easy to get anywhere you needed to go in SAT or the hill country. I would definitely recommend. Thank you for the tranquility that you offered during our stay.

Business Trip

Guest house located on a spacious property with total privacy. The two bedroom cottage had everything I needed for a comfortable stay and was located conveniently near a highway with 15 access to downtown/riverwalk. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. The hosts are wonderful and go above and beyond to accommodate their guests.
