We spent five days touring Olympia. This Home was our base of operations during that time. It is a lovely location and a well kept and maintained home. The kitchen has all that you need for cooking meals, which we did on several occasions. It was such fun to watch all the ships go by and look at them through binoculars or through the telescope. Maurine and Joe are lovely host. We would highly recommend this location.
Maureen and Joe are warm and welcoming hosts, and their home is well equipped with everything you could need. The beds are comfortable, the shower works great, and the view is amazing. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return!
This home was amazing! We had a great time watching the cargo and cruise ships come out of the straight. We saw deer, eagles, and sea birds every day. It was fully stocked with everything we needed including binoculars and abundant information about the area. Makeup wipes in the bathroom were a bonus and live flowers and plants were a nice touch. The house was clean and they left us lots of towels. They even provided the soap for the clothes washer. Something to be aware of...The home has large windows across the front and back of the main living areas, so you can look straight through the house. This makes for incredible views during the day, but at night we felt like we were in a fish bowl. The one thing we would have liked is blinds on those windows. The house is a ways from the road with trees and vegetation, but it still made us nervous being in there in the dark and walking from the bedrooms to the kitchen at night knowing you can see straight through the house from the front and back yards. So, just a heads up if that's a concern for you. We loved the location, though. It gives the feeling of secluded nature, yet it is close to independently owned restaurants, coffee shops, stores, and bakeries. It's also very close to a Walmart that has super friendly employees. It's in a prime spot for the area and was a great base for our adventures!
This property is just so comfortable. We've stayed here 4 times and hope to come back again. The location is perfect. The property is well kept. We think it's a pretty special place. The owners are great people.
The house was immaculate and there was a wonderful view of the Straight of Juan de Fuca from the kitchen, the living room, and the bedroom, The site was quiet snd relaxing and the owners were very helpful and accommodating. If I could give the place a 6 or 7 In the ratings I would. Probably the best rental I have ever stayed in.

You were great guests and we were happy to provide local information. We will welcome you back if your travels bring you back our direction.
A very nice, comfortable, well-equipped place to stay with convenient access to stores for stocking with food. Really loved the architecture with its open floor plan and large windows for viewing of ships passing through the Strait. House is located on a large property that provides privacy. Maureen and Joe were very friendly and accommodating and met with us on day of arrival. We were able to use place for access to day hikes around Olympic National Park. Would highly recommend this place and wouldn't hesitate to book again for another visit.
Hosts are wonderful and so helpful with tips on traveling in the area. We appreciated the advice, especially about needing to be early for Hoh as well as the time of day for low tide.Highly recommend!
We stayed as a launching point for Olympic National Park and we couldn't have had a better place. The house has lovely architecture, the views of the sea are incredible, and Maureen and Joe were very helpful with their advice about the town and park.
We had a wonderful stay here, starting with being personally welcomed by our hosts Maureen and Joe. The property was exactly as I anticipated, clean, peaceful and full of mid-century charm. The personal stories Joe & Maureen shared about the history of the home were icing on the cake. We enjoyed the sights & sounds of the Strait, the spacious kitchen and the private setting. We look forward to staying here in the future. Thank you, Maureen & Joe!!
This was such a beautiful location very well organized town extremely cared for beautiful views all around. The beds were a little hard for me other than that everything was great.
Within one day of checking in were were trying to figure out how soon we could come back to stay again. This was the BEST vacation rental we have enjoyed in our travels all around the country. The home itself is mid-century modern amazing, the hosts are phenomenal, the location is more than perfect!
We loved our stay! Maureen & Joe we’re very helpful! The location is perfect for exploring the Olympic Peninsula. We were there for 4 nights and wished we had stayed longer. Everything was perfect!!

Sue, you went beyond the call of duty ! I’ve never had anyone fill ice cube trays. House was very clean and linens all in the basket. I’m impressed. I went out an bought a new tv and dvd player today.
Maureen’s childhood home was the perfect place to stay during our trip to visit Olympic National Park. The ocean view is spectacular! We enjoyed watching the cruise ships come through the strait.
