About this property
Tower Hill House Near Port Fairy, Beautiful Ocean Views, Nature Reserve, Pets OK
Just minutes from both Port Fairy and Warrnambool, Tower Hill House offers you the best short break or longer stay holiday you could ever want.
Tower Hill House is spacious, extremely comfortable and very well equipped. There are spectacular panoramic ocean views - and 6 acres of native gardens.
In winter you'll be wonderfully warm with the red gum burning wood heater - and there is reverse cycle air conditioning if necessary for those hot summer days.
Relax and look out across 15 kms of ocean from the comfortable sofa in the lounge - and you get the same fantastic panoramic views in the dining area.
There is a fully equipped kitchen complete with Italian Ilve professional chefs stove, new Bosch dishwasher and all mod cons. We supply freshly ground coffee for the espresso machine, as well as useful items such as olive oil, spices, tea, sugar, salt etc.
So you can sit back and read a book from the library, perhaps watch a DVD, listen to music… Or just relax on the north facing sunny verandah, complete with Webber BBQ - or in the garden - Its your choice.
We promise your stay will be as memorable as it is enjoyable!
Like the roos you can hop over the garden fence directly into the nature reserve where there are kilometres of wonderful walks, up and down hills, board walk over water, have a picnic, etc.
Tower Hill House is within an easy distance to so many attractions - The Great Ocean Road and The 12 Apostles, The Grampians, the seal colony at Bridgewater Bay near Portland, are all a leisurely day trip. And over winter the southern right whales arrive at Logan's Beach in Warrnambool.
A few minutes drive away are award winning restaurants, shops and the heritage of Port Fairy and Warrnambool - and right on your doorstep the extraordinary Tower Hill State Game Reserve.
Perfect for a short break or longer stay holiday!

Tower Hill Nature Reserve
To see an arial drone video of Tower Hill House and the surrounding nature reserve, please click on the link on the homepage.
Though you can drive through, there is direct access to the reserve from our garden. The Tower Hill Nature Reserve is nestled inside an extinct volcano and is a beautiful haven for all sorts of wildlife.
Tower Hill is also great for bushwalking and picnics (BBQs and facilities provided). Guided day or night tours can be booked at the Tower Hill Natural History Centre (T ), which is open daily.
Tower Hill was created some 25,000 years ago in a violent volcanic eruption. The force of the blast created a funnel shaped crater, which was later filled by a lake and island.
On a walk you could well see possums, echidnas, cape barren geese and wedge-tailed eagles (Australia's largest bird of prey). Keen twitchers might also spot chestnut teal, musk duck and spoonbills from the boardwalks and bird hide. Eagles often soar at dusk.
There are numerous activities and events throughout the year in both Port Fairy and nearby Warrnambool - Including the well known Port Fairy Folk Festival... boat trips, beach walks, golf, shopping, restaurants and great food!

About the host
Hosted by Richard Crawley

Hi there, I'm Richard and I'm the owner of Tower Hill House. THH was initially set up by my wife Carol and for many years was run by her, with my help - It was her creative flair and enthusiastic attention to detail that made everything so great - Tower Hill House is genuinely extremely comfortable: spacious and very well-equipped.
However, a few years ago the unthinkable happened and Carol passed away. Since then I have continued to do what I know she would have liked most… and that is to provide at THH the very best for guests.
I am also a musician and a photographer. I've exhibited widely and my photographs are on the walls at Tower Hill House.
Having lived in this beautiful part of Southwest Victoria for many years I can provide you with all the information you could ever need for a really great holiday or short break... Come and stay!

What makes this property unique
At Tower Hill House you're not in town!
Wonderful though both Port Fairy and Warrnambool are, they are also extremely busy at peak periods. For instance when 40,000 people are visiting Port Fairy for the annual folk festival, at Tower Hill you wouldn't even know the festival was running. And from THH it is only in a few minutes drive into either town.
The Tower Hill Nature Reserve is an iconic landmark. For thousands of years this area has been spiritually of great significance to the local Aboriginal Gungidamara clan, and in the nature reserve it is really worth also visiting the very good information centre - the building itself is of interest being architecturally designed by Robin Boyd - brother to Arthur Boyd, the painter.
I can guarantee you a very restful and peaceful holiday at THH. You can stretch out on the sundrenched north facing verandah, laze inside in front of the woodheater looking out over 15 kms of ocean, or you can visit groovy Port Fairy and all the attractions roundabout. To be honest you really do get the best of both worlds here!
PS There is also a fully enclosed sheltered outdoor dog area for four footed friends.
