Villa Poinciana is a 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 1300 square foot house with covered decks wrapping around both buildings. The surrounding foliage engulfs the wooden structures.

Located in the quiet southwest corner of Providenciales near Sapodilla Bay, this charming villa is situated on the water's edge of scenic Chalk Sound National Park, a Turks and Caicos Island wildlife sanctuary.

Villa Poinciana is two separate but connected West Indies style wooden structures nestled comfortably into the natural flora and rock formations of the Chalk Sound shoreline. Poinciana comes with thre kayaks for your enjoyment exploring the islands in Chalk Sound.

One building contains the living room, kitchen, dining area and a full bath; and the other, two large bedrooms both with en-suite baths creating a tree-house atmosphere that is enhanced by the connecting wooden walkways and surrounding tropical plants. The many decks and connecting walkways offer sweeping views of a brilliant turquoise blue water you will remember forever.

Poinciana can comfortably accommodate a party of 4. Additionally, there is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room appropriate for an extra child or adults and a sleeping loft in the guest suite. Despite Poinciana's Swiss Family Robinson appearance, it has the modern conveniences of flat screen TVs, wireless internet, and bluetooth audio speakers for your enjoyment. This is a really cool place to stay. The views from the main house are breathtaking. It does have a "treehouse" feel that is fun. The decor is very tasteful and the kitchen is well equipped. There are chairs, floats and everything you need for the Sound and the beaches. It was fun to take a dip right at the house and the two nearby beaches are fantastic. No waves, just shallow calm turquoise water..Las Brisas restaurant is a couple of minutes away and is great. We were there in July, so neither beach was crowded at all, we practically had them to ourselves at sunset. Communication with the host was quick and easy. The directions and the house were specific and easy to follow. Do read the description carefully, the two bedrooms do not connect indoors, and that the building is separate from the main house, but that was perfect for us. It's a unique and great place.

We stayed for five nights as a family of five (kids ages 2, 8, and 10), and overall had a great experience.The location is absolutely amazing! It is literally a one-minute drive to two of the most beautiful beaches on the island — Sapodilla Bay and Taylor Bay. The backyard view is gorgeous, and we really appreciated the kayaks provided with the house. There were also beach chairs, floats, and other items left behind by previous guests, which made beach days so much easier. Bring bugs spray- mosquitoes can be quite aggressive, especially at night.The main issue during our stay was the AC in the primary bedroom. It was not working when we arrived. A portable AC unit was provided, but because of its placement, we could not fully close the window shade/cover at night, which made the room brighter and less comfortable for sleeping after long hot days at the beach. The bathroom was also extremely hot, almost like a sauna. I did contact the host, and hopefully this is a temporary issue that will be fixed for future guests (unfortunately for us it wasn’t) A couple of notes for future visitors: the house instructions mention a boa, but we never saw one, so don’t let that worry you. There are also some ants that appear in the kitchen at night even when food is put away, and we did see a few large flying roaches.

What an incredible experience! The location is absolutely STUNNING! The host was so pleasant and answered any questions we had quickly. Everything you need is all in one place. Wonderful accommodations, easy water access, kayaks for the entire family, snorkel gear, super fun floats and beach chairs! We wanted for nothing! The kitchen is nice and big and the views just took our breath away! The walkability to Sapodilla Bay and the delicious La Brisa restaurant was so convenient. The home was clean and exactly as described! We can’t wait to come back!!

Beautiful location for a beach getaway!!

Booked this property for a getaway with friends having never stayed in Provo. We had the best time, and it was the perfect location! It is a treehouse like atmosphere, but equipped had all the amenities we needed for the week and it was only a short drive away from a number of restaurants and activities. We loved Taylor Beach, which was only a short distance from the property and walkable. We can’t wait to visit Poinciana again!

A great family vacation

We had a great time at Colin’s place for our family of four. Absolutely loved paddling out and visiting the iguanas in the kayaks and sitting out on the dock reading. The kitchen had everything we needed to make the majority of our meals.

Beautiful home with all the amenities

Our family of 5 loved staying at this property. The views were amazing and we loved having the kayaks and paddleboard to explore Chalk Sound. The kitchen is fully stocked along with plenty of beach towels and bath towels. We would definitely stay here again!

Heaven on Earth!

This our second time staying at Colin’s villa and will not be the last. Nestled on a quiet strip in beautiful Chalk Sound, it’s close to two beautiful beaches and well connected to the rest of the island. You’ll never tire of the sound of waves gently lapping against the shore.

Wonderful Stay in Paradise

We so enjoyed our stay at Poinciana! We loved the fresh chill vibes of the house and the location was perfect for us. Sapodilla and Taylor bay were our favorite beaches we visited. Summer stay in TCI

Property is breathtaking and was an excellent location for our two young kids (7 and 9 yo). Host was accommodating and easy to work with from booking to check out. Would highly recommend. The two beaches 1/2 mile from the house were beautiful and awesome for kids (and adults)!

Colin Whyte, President of Martha's Vineyard Construction, left his happy childhood home near Biscayne Bay, FL to start a wonderful and varied journey that would one day lead him to sailboat summers, Martha’s Vineyard mansions and a company built from fortitude and perseverance. “I had enough support and stability at home that I could just go. I never knew that when I left home at age 16, I’d never be back again.” Choosing to go to an all boys boarding school in Tennessee, McCallie School taught hard lessons of discipline and survival. It was there that Colin made life-long friends and began to desire the mysteries that life and experience had to offer.

In hope of avoiding a sojourn in Vietnam Colin took off on his motorcycle, partnered with friends, and threw himself into education and small-time enterprises. Self-taught, he learned how to run a successful business from varied jaunts including: house moving, dictionary selling, surfboard renting, interning in the Senate, and—finally, construction clean up. Graduating from Brown University with a liberal arts degree led him to a winter at Law School, and a stint back at Brown Graduate School in art. “Applying to schools, I was really just a kid trying to stay out of Vietnam; little did I know, it was the motorcycle that would save me. A serious accident taught me the power of the motorcycle. My back was handed a lesson and Martha’s Vineyard became my home.”
