This cosy 1914's cottage has been updated with all the modern facilities. Foxtel available. The kids can swim all day at the heated pools within 50m of the cottage, kick the ball directly across the road at the park or enjoy a 2 min stroll to local cafes, shops or the lake. Views of the beautiful lake from your balcony & master bedroom ease away your stress. New ceiling fans in each room for your comfort.

Many fun & relaxing activities are within a short distance of Lakeside Cottage.

Patrolled Beaches - Blacksmiths (2km) & Caves Beach (3km)

Fishing - The lake is within 200m of your front door where you can throw in a line. There are many great fishing spots around the lakes edge or you can hire a boat & head for deep water. Alternatively, access for a boat to be parked at the rear of property (confirm with owner - 2.2m wide vehicle access). (temporary fishing licences are available from the Dive shop 200m. Pensioners and children under 16 do not require a fishing licence). For the ultimate fishing experience contact B&L fishing charters Swansea (near RSL)

Cycle/Walking paths & tracks - There are walking paths in the area that start 150m from your front door. You can head for the beach or stroll along the edge of the lake. If you are after adventure there is an abundance of native bush in the area to be explored or snorkel at the beautiful lake.

Boat hire - Boats can be hired from Pelican marina (3.5km) or Squid's at Belmont South (6km). For the kids there are canoes and paddle bikes for hire at Warners Bay (15km) or bring your own boat as their are many jettys closely located to Lakeside Cottage

Scuba Diving - The Dive shop is located 200m from the Lakeside Cottage. Contact them for Scuba Diving information

Golf - The Lakeside Cottage is located approx. (5km) from Belmont Golf Course

Swansea outdoor heated pools are within 50m easy walk from your front door. Great fun for the kids!

Great little cottage

Great location, cute clean little cottage. Really enjoyed our stay. We needed somewhere local as my teenage daughters and duo partners were competing at a local dance comp. Host was lovely great communication!

Cosy little cottage

Bernadette, our host was just wonderful. Very accomodating and honest. We liked our stay , especially our 2 little children calling this place “our home”. Kitchen was very well equipped, and overall the place was very nice and cosy.

Unfortunately, our stay was very unpleasant, and we had to leave early due to multiple serious issues that were not accurately disclosed in the listing.The description and photos do not match the reality of the property. The shared bathroom is directly connected to the children’s room, which was not clearly disclosed and caused repeated night-time disturbances and sleeplessness for our kids. The property is advertised as air conditioned, yet there is no air conditioning in the bedrooms, and this was not mentioned or excluded in the listing, leading us to reasonably expect it would be available.Most concerning was the lack of pest control. The backyard is heavily overgrown, with numerous spiders and lizards, and there were insects throughout the house. Our children were bitten or stung overnight, resulting in visible skin reactions and significant discomfort.Due to these issues, which materially affected our well-being and holiday, we made the difficult decision to shorten our stay and leave early.While the host responded via the booking platform, none of the concerns raised were acknowledged or accepted, and there was a complete lack of compassion for the inconvenience and distress caused. In contrast, we received great help and support from the booking platform, which we truly appreciated during a very stressful situation.These issues were neither false nor exaggerated and We would not recommend this accommodation, especially for families with children.

The only thing unfortunate was me accepting this booking! ‘First Complaint’ (check-in and property details were not sent' Evidence was sent showing that the information was sent 4 days prior to check-in. ‘Second Complaint’ is not listed in their ‘review’ as it was so outrageous and false. Thank you VRBO for your wonderful support. ‘Third Complaint’ (serious issues which affected your well-being) (Spiders and lizards outside) Great observation that’s where they belong. (Reasonably expected air conditioning in the bedroom) website shows ceiling fans in the bedroom. (Shared bathroom caused repeated night-time disturbances and sleeplessness) The bathroom has two doors to access it, one, hallway other, bedroom. Both doors can be locked. If you decided to unlock and leave it open, the guests have you to thank. (The backyard is overgrown) Grass is cut short and one part of a fence is lined with greenery. (Photos do not match the reality of the property) The guest complained a photo of an outdoor table on the website was different to the one at the property. Yes, you are finally correct! the old setting was replaced by a brand new larger one. Photo has now been updated. All calls, texts, and emails were all received over Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. We responded to everything single ‘complaint’ immediately so much so that VRBO commending us on it. To all future guests, please refer to all reviews listed under ‘Exceptional’.

Great House near shops

The property has been renovated however it still an older style house. Has an antenna on the house but the local TV stations can't be used, only foxtel. The TV remote didnt work either. Little things but they make a difference. The only thing my wife missed was a dryer. It was hard to use the clothes line as it was covered with spider webs and over grown trees.

Hi David, The first two lines of the description states “ This cosy 1914's cottage has been updated with all the modern facilities. Foxtel available.” In the list amenities- There is no clothes dryer advertised. The remote for the new Foxtel box definitely does work. This booking site is fair and works really well as it asks owners to list everything that the property has and not to list what it doesn’t. I hope you still enjoyed your break and hope in the future you read the description/amenities and book a property that has all the amenities you need on a holiday.

Lovely, well-equipped home close to the shops

Great house and location, very convenient to the shops, cafes, etc. The kitchen was well-equipped and the BBQ was great. We were there on a hot weekend, the house had ceiling fans but was still quite warm. Communication with Bernadette was great and the little touches of the welcome hamper and ice blocks was very much appreciated. Overall it was a great place to spend a weekend away with friends.

Spacious, well stocked kitchen & property is in central location. Really difficult to cool down if at the house & outdoor temp is 30 degrees or over, as house heats right up & there is no A/C or ceiling fans etc. First impressions are good. Has a large backyard, nice little back deck & front veranda.

Perfect stay for the family

This place exceeded all expectations! Clean, comfortable and within walking distance to shops, cafes, lake and the awesome Swansea pools. The welcome basket was a nice little touch after a long drive. Kitchen well stocked and super clean. The bathroom is beautifully renovated. Large backyard for kids to run around with a cute cosy deck. Bernadette the host was wonderful, efficient and attentive.

Very Nice Cottage, Great Location!

We really enjoyed our weekend at Lakeside Cottage, the accommodation was clean and cozy. The location was amazing, across the road from park, lake and swimming pool and the shops were a short walk up the street. Will definitely stay there again when in Swansea.
