There are five wineries situated along Para Road in Tanunda and Little Para Cottage is the closest accommodation to them all! Tucked away at the rear of a half acre block on the edge of the township, this is a hide-away cottage built for two. It's little - just one cosy bedroom - but self-contained with kitchenette and ensuite bathroom. Ideal for short or long term stays with all the comfort of home! Private undercover off-street parking is provided and guests have their own entry and fully fenced garden area. The rustic garden setting is so tranquil! For your convenience, there's also a hotel, bakery and chocolate factory in walking distance and you can go for a stroll to buy the morning paper. Enjoy a vineyard walk on the nearby walking trail that weaves past huge gum trees in front of Peter Lehmann Wines. You'll love it!

Character, heritage cottage set in garden with both shelter and seating areas. Cottage air conditioning and fan enabled us to be comfortable in extreme 40+ temperatures. A welcoming and relaxing environment for our stay in the Barossa Valley. Easy communication with owner prior to travelling to Australia in time of bush fire concerns.

Check in & communication was very good.
The cottage had everything we needed for our 2 night stay. We both thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Barossa Valley.
If you want to get away for a cosy relaxing weekend in a cottage that has everything you could ever need , this is the place. The special touches that greet you on arrival are very thoughtful. We will be definitely be back
Cosy cottage, very well equipped with lots of quirky touches giving the cottage loads of character and making it feel homely. Great base in Tanunda to explore the beautiful Barossa.
Clean and cosy, close proximity to many restaurants and wineries. Highly recommend the Barossa for its diversity and ease of getting around especially on bikes. Thanks to Wendy
Loved the cottage environment. Peaceful. Location is central to everything. All the small touches makes a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Will recommend to family and friends.
A lovely cottage well equipped with a lot of essentials, made our selves comfortable , cosy and warmly place, bottle of red was a complimentary on arrival was enjoyed, garden was lovely , nice touches around it , thank you wendy
Really lovely place to stay in the heart of the Barossa. Wendy the host communicated well and offered assurance above and beyond what I have experienced in the past. Would recommend this accommodation to anyone looking at staying in the area
We loved our stay at Little Para Cottage. The cottage and garden are beautifully maintained, it's small but felt roomy and had everything we needed for a weekend away. We were gifted a bottle of wine, and there are also coffee pods, biscuits, milk, port and dinner vouchers. (The food at the clubhouse was so good!) Out dog also loved his stay, it's so nice we could bring him and we loved the booklet of dog friendly venues. It's a bit further from town that we realised, a short drive but a good 30-35 minute walk at a decent pace. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to family & friends.
This was a perfect dog friendly base for us to explore Tanunda and surrounds. A cosy little cottage with a lovely outdoor garden sitting area just a short drive (or a walk if you're feeling like some exercise) from the main shops and restaurants of Tanunda. The owners were wonderful to deal with and the inclusion of complimentary wine, Port and vouchers for local restaurants was very much appreciated.
Very cosy and charming little cottage, perfect for a weekend getaway to relax and recharge. Lovely garden surrounds and very close proximity to Tanunda main street, wineries and the chocolate factory. Wendy is a great host with nice little touches in the cottage including a bottle of wine, music on and friendly welcome note upon check in. We really enjoyed our stay- you will not be disappointed!

Very nice little cottage on outskirts of Tanunda, comfortable and well appointed. Host gifted wine, port, chocolate biscuits and 3 types of milk (although not Almond), thank you that was nice. Good WiFi and Smart TV but you do need your own accounts for Netflix etc so remember your login and passwords. Warm with great heating. Very helpful and generous hosts, a great place to stay.
Cottage was cosy and comfortable! Kitchen had all we needed and location was absolutely perfect for a winery/foodie/birthday weekend. Thank you Wendy for looking after us!!

Walking into Little Para Cottage was like walking into a friend's home. There was no way you could confuse this lovely cottage with any sort of resort or hotel suite or apartment. The cottage was impeccably clean and well stocked with a huge range of tea/coffee options and biscuits to have with it, and the full sized fridge was stocked with REAL milk, not the UHT crap you usually get. The bed was very comfy. The cottage is surrounded by a gorgeous garden with little hideaway outdoor seating, a fire pit, and a great under cover bbq and entertaining area. It's just like having a holiday home in the Barossa. Wifi was free, which always is a winner for me, and if I wanted to, I could access Netflix on their tv, which I haven't experienced anywhere I've stayed. All in all, a lovely gem of a place to stay, which I would recommend highly.
Loved every minute of our stay in the Barossa Valley and Little Para Cottage was the perfect place to rest our heads at the end of a big day.
The cottage has absolutely everything you need plus a few extra personal touches to which makes you feel extra welcomed.
The cottage is in easy walking distance to a few wineries which is an added bonus
I highly recommend to all who are after a private cottage, something a little unique and self contained.
Thanks Wendy for making our stay enjoyable

We had the pleasure of spending a few days at the Little Para Cottage in the heart of the Barossa Valley.
The cottage is reasonably well equipped with most things one would want. The owner, Sue, is close by to offer help.
We enjoyed sitting in the outdoor space for our meals, as inside is somewhat dark and cool.
The cottage is walking distance from Peter Lehmann and Langmeil wineries but driving distance to shops or restaurants.
Overall we enjoyed our time and would recommend this place to others.

Quiet, cosy hideaway
A fantastic setting. A quaint cottage with everything you need. Enjoyed the garden BBQ area. A perfect place to relax and enjoy each others company.
Fresh flowers in the rooms and music on arrival. Close to shopping facilities if you need them.

About the host
Hosted by Wendy Ferrett
We work in hospitality and have have lived in the Barossa Valley for over 25 years. We enjoy the relaxed lifestyle and great community spirit in the Barossa Valley, and of course the beauty of the landscape with vineyards that create an ever-changing vista of colour. We enjoy sharing our little cottage with guests because the location is so unique, on the edge of the township, close to everything and yet within walking distance to at least seven popular wineries. We created a lush garden around the cottage for privacy and joy!
Why they chose this property
Our location has a wonderful semi-rural feel but actually we're close to the centre of the township and well positioned for events and touring. The vineyards provide ever-changing beauty and the landscape also offers great trails for walking and riding. There's also a lot of history and cultural stories to explore here. The Barossa Valley is famous for wine and food but there's a lot more to keep you busy, and all at a very relaxed pace.
What makes this property unique
We are unique because we're a rustic cottage with lots of modern comforts, but a great homey feel. Our location is magical, hidden away on our block at the edge of Tanunda, but close to everything. You have privacy as the cottage is self contained and fully enclosed. We live on-site in the old house at the front of the block, but the cottage is tucked away behind us and is detached and separate, so it's your own space. We have many guests that return to us again and again, so we love that they enjoy the property and find it tranquil and fun.
