The cabin was awesome and very spacious and homey. The property was absolutely beautiful. We loved hearing the sound of the river at our front door . Had many deer visit us . The area was breathtaking. We will definitely be back! The host gave great recommendations on places to visit. We loved Sea Creek Falls, the Swinging bridge and Blue Ridge lake. The Coopers Creek store was a life saver!
The cabin was very cozy and had everything we needed. Clean an very spacious. Host checked in to make sure we got in ok. All in all had a great time. We will try to come back.
The cabin was very cute and cozy. It was clean and secluded which we loved. It was a bit small for our family of eight - but since we spent most of our time exploring the area it was the perfect place for resting in between adventures
We love every second of our stay at this home. It was a perfect location! We went hiking and visited the swing bridge. We sat on the porch and drank coffee while taking in what the mountains and the river had to offer.
Overall, we liked the house. It was very roomy and spacious and had beautiful decor. Everything was convenient. Our bed was comfortable. It was very clean when we got there. A very peaceful setting and it was lovely to look down at the rushing river. Communication with my host was good. With all that said, we were disappointed with the kitchen because we love to cook. It is not a Cook’s kitchen as it is very small and very little counter space. Although we had most of everything we needed, the dishes and pots and pans were not very clean. I think that’s due to the fact that the guests before us would have washed them, per instructions because, there is no dishwasher. The road to the driveway was a little challenging however we had a 4 x 4 truck and were able to navigate it. It might be more challenging for a regular vehicle. And that is due to the rain and washout. Also the steps to the river were washed away at the very bottom and we were unable to get down all the way to the river as we are in our 60s. That was of no fault to anyone but mother nature. Had the steps been there it would’ve been accessible. Our host did call us and let us know that they were washed away so we were ready for that. The house is very lovely and we enjoyed staying there.

private mountain retreat
Large mountain cabin with view of river. Quiet, peaceful retreat for a couple or plenty of room for a large group. Very cozy, nicely decorated cabin. Enjoyed our close drive to the fish hatchery and hike along the scenic river. Upper and lower balcony sets it apart from other cabins. Looking forward to returning.

Mrs. Mullis,
It was good to hear from you. I am glad you liked our cabin. Please visit again.
This cabin was amazing! My 9year old son and I had the perfect get away weekend at this cabin! Cathie was very responsive and a top notch host! Plenty of things to do, games, cassette tapes for the vibes, right on the Toccoa river! Fish hatchery right up the road, great BBQ at Wild Cat BBQ, quick breakfast and small grabs at Copper Creek Store. Suspension bridge a must see! Downtown Blue Ridge only 40 minute drive!

Winter Retreat
We loved the privacy of this house. It is tacked in the woods and you cannot hear or see anyone else around if you do not want to. It rained a lot while we were up there but we enjoyed the coziness of the fire and snuggling with our blankets on the porch listening to the river. The place is clean, well decorated and plenty of amenities (liked the crock pot, which we used). There was a bottle of wine and crackers waiting for us there, that was a nice touch. We will be back this summer for sure. We want to go rafting on the river.
It was a great property 30 minutes from any town to explore which was great. Had everything we needed to relax. Host had excellent communication. I did like having an actual key vs a keypad every time to get in. It rained most of our weekend so you could hear the river sound and it was amazing.
What an awesome place! Cathie was super responsive, the directions to get the cabin up and running were super easy to follow. The river that it sits off of is really peaceful. It's just far away enough from town to feel like you are aways from everything, but close enough to Blue Ridge to be convenient. We would definitely recommend this cabin to for a great getaway.
We used this cabin as a home base for a couple of days of fly fishing around the Chattahoochee National Forest. The cabin had plenty of space and we made use of the fire pit both nights. Having a complete kitchen was helpful for making meals.
We caught creek chubs and war paint shiners in the River below the cabin. We drove to the Fish Hatchery as well.
Our most productive area was the Delayed Harvest section of the Toocoa.

About the host
Hosted by Cathie Kobsa
We bought the cabin as our escape form the hustle and bustle of life in Atlanta. We have enjoyed every vacation we have taken to Suches ever since then. We have take countless friends and acquaintances with us over the years and we are always asked if we ever rent it. Because of the unique decor and beautiful furniture we held back from renting, but it's time to let others enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the mountains, the river and the relaxation we find so therapeutic. This is a place to relax and decompress.
Why they chose this property
There are a lot of cabins in Blue Ridge that are big & elegant & have all of the amenities you can think of. Our cabin is unique, it is cozy and it is beautiful. The unique American Indian decor of our cabin was inspired by the movie Dances With Wolves, and the log furniture was build in Montana. Our cabin was designed to transport you to another world (one without stress, without anxiety and without modern devices that keep you from spending time with each other); it was designed to help you slow down time; it was designed to keep you focused on nature (on the sound of the river, on the sound of the birds, on the sound of the wind, and the sound of the rustling of the leaves). It was designed to encourage you to talk and listen to each other, to listen to music (we prefer American Indian music), to read a book, to put together a puzzle, to play a table game, take a walk by the river, or spend hours fishing on our property. Most of all, our cabin was designed to be a getaway to the mountains to 'decompress'. And that is what everyone who has ever been there brags about. We hope you can have the same experience.
What makes this property unique
You will fall in love with the open floor plan, the Indian wall decorations (most of which are Cherokee), and the privacy of the property. You will fall in love with the river which is perfect for summer swimming and fishing. And if you are lucky enough and there is a rain storm up there, you will see the sheets of rain pass by the covered front porch as if it were parading just for you. In the spring & summer you will fall in love with swimming in the river or canoeing to the swinging bridge (2 hr trip) or hiking part of the Appalachian Trail. At any given time you will see herds of deer and a occasional black bear, since the Blue Ridge mountains are their habitat. Suches is a paradise for the outdoors adventurer. From our cabin you can explore the Appalachian Trail (2 -3 miles away), Benton Mackay Trail, Duncan Ridge Trail, Cooper Creek Trail, Blood Mountain Archeological Area, Swinging Bridge, Sea Creek Falls, Cooper Creek Wildlife Management Area, and much more.
