PLEASE READ:
We have a new Queen bed, topper and base in the master bedroom, and two new single beds, toppers and bases in bedroom three. A new smart TV in the lounge room. The view of the ranges has improved with the removal of a large tree next to the driveway. Updates to bathroom two. 20 October 2025 SW.
WE DO NOT CHARGE EXTRA FOR EXTRA GUESTS BUT THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF GUESTS IS SIX due to the number of beds, cutlery and crockery etc.
LINEN IS NOT provided to keep costs down but is available at an extra cost.
We have a great instant gas hot water system so no one gets a cold shower.

This charming 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom insulated brick veneer family home can accommodate up to 6 people. The master bedroom has a new queen size bed (October 2025), TV and en-suite; the second bedroom has two Long single beds; the third bedroom has two new (October 2025) standard single beds. All bedrooms have built in robes.
Bedrooms two and three and the second bathroom that has a toilet, vanity unit and over the bath shower can be closed off from the rest of the house for privacy if required or if there is only two guests. This also reduces the area to heat or cool.
The large dining room with reading nook is adjacent to the well-equipped all electric kitchen that includes, a microwave, dishwasher, electric kettle, toaster, full size fridge/freezer, hotplates separate from the wall oven and a large pantry. Cookware, crockery, cutlery, glassware and bottle openers are located in the numerous kitchen drawers and cupboards.
New carpet was laid throughout the home recently.
The carpeted lounge room has a lounge suite and two reclining chairs, SMART TV (October 2025), Refrigerated AC for cooling and very effective Gas Heating.
The laundry has a modern top loading washing machine, clothes dryer, wash trough, iron and ironing board.
An enclosed room at the rear of the house has internal clothes lines and a coat rack that is a good place to hang out wet ski clothing overnight when you leave the laundry window open to provide warm air circulation from the the house.
The back verandah also provides additional undercover washing lines.
A rotary clothes line is also located in the back yard.
The Large wide verandah surrounding the front and side of the house and its outdoor setting provides an ideal location to take in the beautiful views of the Upper Kiewa Valley, Mt Emu and the Bogong High Plains. A large tree was removed in October 2025 providing improved views of the ranges.
There is a single vehicle carport to protect your vehicle and concrete driveway for easy access. It is a three minute walk to the Old Tawonga Store & Post Office, and an excellent park with playground equipment is opposite the store. It is a short drive to the Kiewa River, local restaurants, supermarket, specialty shops, banks, hotel and breweries.
Linen (top & bottom sheets, pillow cases and towels) is NOT provided to keep costs down BUT can be supplied at an additional cost.
Quilts, pillows and additional blankets are provided.
Mobile phone coverage is available from the property if you need to stay in touch.
The Telstra network works best in this part of Victoria.
I use a dongle with my laptop to gain access to the internet when I stay at the property; it works well for me. You can also connect using your mobile phone.
We do not have a WIFI connection yet but do have a new smart TV.

Location:
Tawonga, the gateway to the Alpine National Park is located in the Kiewa Valley five kilometers from Mt Beauty and approximately 3 1/2 to 4 hours from Melbourne via the dual carriage-way Hume Highway, the Snow road, Oxley, Milawa, Myrtleford, Happy Valley and the Kiewa Valley highways. The property is approximately 30Km from Falls Creek Ski Resort and 80 Km from Albury/Wodonga.
Reasons to Stay:
Two minute walk to Tawonga Pioneer Memorial Park off Cooper street with an adventure playground large open area, BBQ's and toilets and a good Fitness exercise station.
Mountain Bike riding - excellent park in Mt Beauty.
Road Cycling trails/competition the three peaks - Falls Creek, Mt Hotham and Mt buffalo every March.
Horse Riding.
Golf course in Mt Beauty
Changing of the colours of the leaves on the trees thorough the Kiewa valley.
Relax and enjoy the scenery - Victoria's high country.
Gourmet Trails - vineyards, cheeses, mustard's, olives.

This property was designed and hand built by my father and mother for their retirement. Now it is rented out to cover ongoing costs and used by family members when available. We have had a connection with the Kiewa Valley for over fifty years.
