Everything needed for a great stay at Port Douglas
Very clean, well equipped property with comfortable beds! Our family of four had a great stay and Cynthia is quick to respond and a helpful host. Good location with a 5 minute stroll to the beach (look for the beach access sign opposite Port St) and short drive to the wharf & Main Street (probably 15-20 min walk if you don’t have a car). Would definitely stay here again.

Julie was a terrific guest! Easy and great communicator. Very respectful to the house rules and left the property in a very good state. Hoping to see and your family again in the near future.
The property is a 2.5 star at best but
charged out at at a 5 star rate , cut or trip short because of the dirty cockroach infested property beds slept in before we arrived and not changed, and cockroach excrement throughout
cupboards all over crockery and cutlery, was told everything was new in the unit but that was probably 5 years ago , holes in sheets dirty blankets contracted the owner but she is unprofessional and won't return calls

Hi David,
It is unfortunate you and your family didn’t have an enjoyable stay at our property, like all our other pleasant guests. Your review comes as a surprise as all our reviews on other platforms are glowing, expressing their gratitude and pleasant experience. However, due to the nature of the work I do (renting out properties) you are bound to come across difficult and unreasonable guests.
As you are aware, Queensland has a tropical climate; the temperature is warm and humid. And cockroaches thrive in warm and humid areas hence why each year we have Pest management Professionals come to the property. This is the norm for many Queenslanders in this climate. I made you aware of this and provided the Pest Control Receipt to you before your arrival. If you have a problem with Cockroaches, you should have acted before staying at the property or alternatively not travelled to a humid and warm area. It is unfortunate you may have come across a cockroach or two but as I verbally outlined to you, this is out of my control and I ensured I had done everything I could to prevent this.
Secondly, there are no holes in the sheets, this is just false accusations. Also, the reason I didn’t pick up your numerous calls was due to your constant abusive manner. You also trashed my property. This behaviour is not welcomed and acceptable.
HIGHLY recommend not accepting David and his family as a guest at any property unless you want to experience a nightmare guest. Surprisingly, they are out there. David and his family trashed my property, made false accusations, and stole kitchen utensils. David is an extremely unreasonable and disrespectful person. After his stay he also called and texted me numerous times abusing me. As outlined above, David and his family are not worth pursuing as guests.

Clean and tidy property
Property was clean, tidy and well equipped. However air conditioning units were noisy or not working. Had to spend part of my holiday time waiting for air conditioning repairers to visit the property, which was not resolved.
Location was further from heart of Port Douglas than I realised.

We did clearly state how far the property was the location as per description. Please make sure you read carefully the location of the property in your next holiday destination. Still the property is good location and working distance of 15 mins to the shops and 10 minutes walk to the beach. Airconditoners were minor issues and were resolved. Airconditioning fail to work if quests leave front doors and windows open and expect the conditioner to work properly.
This was a nice place to use as our home base while staying in Port Douglas. We arrived to a clean and well equipped unit. I would say that the unit was slightly smaller than I anticipated based on the pictures. While I knew that we had only one bathroom in the unit, it was a challenge for 5 people with one bathroom. We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay here again. It was nice to have the laundry facilities since we were traveling for a long period of time between different locations.

Wonderful stay
We loved our time @ Tropical Palms. The unit was very clean and tidy and comfortable for 7 of us. Appreciated the extra equipment provided such as pool noodles and beach towels. And the heated pool was excellent, perfect temperature for the kids to stay in for ages! Walking distance to town and beach, overall - very good. Would definitely return.

Great Property
We had a lovely family holiday at Tropical Palms. The 3 bedroom apartment accommodated our family of 6 adults very well. Plenty of space in the living area and the deck served as a lovely early evening area to enjoy the ambience of the tropical climate. Very easy and comfortable, relaxing pool area and parking was easily accessible. Within 10 mins to the beach track and 20 mins to town.
