SUMMARY introduction

This is a traditional 1950's retro Holiday unit in gorgeous Torquay. A Great CENTRAL location with 2 b/rooms sleeps 4 . Cute back yard with BBQ .Easy and close Walking distance to beaches, 500 meters to main beach (a touch more to surf beaches ), shops, Torquay pub cafes and very close to the Commons and sports ground. Close drive to Torquay Golf Courses.

I do have REQUST to BOOK selected whereby I will confirm your booking after you send a little information about yourself and all others who are staying. Please also share why travelling , or what brings you to torquay , if bringing a pet, what sort of pet . Also confirm that you have read about property and you happily agree to house rules / pet rules.

This helps us so that we know whom is staying in our personal holiday house.

MY PROPERTY is Located in the traditional part of Torquay, called "Old Torquay "

It is an old but sweet traditional, very retro Holiday Unit in a lovely location and bonus is PETS are allowed as long as you notify me in booking and asure my pet rules are followed.

This was one of the FIRST set of units built in Torquay in 1950, so it's quite an antique !!!
Close to both the MAIN and SURF beaches, cafes, shops, and Torquay pub.
I have a MIN 2 night stay , 3 or 4 Night at Easter and 5/7 nights Xmas period .


My belief is its better to explain more than less and be as honest as i can with my description below . The bond amount allocated on property will only be collected AFTER checkout IF a need or major problem .

THE SPACE
The property itself is NOT modern , it is more an old Gem, very old school .
Basic no frills, a little antique, and a step back in time .
If you PREFER new modern with just a touch of simple furniture then this may not suit you as my place is more a home away from home for which compliments our taste.

There are many gorgeous modern built/or renovated places / or hotels in torquay you can also choose, so I'd rather you be happy and look around rather than rate me low stars because you didn't read my very honest description of knowing its an old traditional place or look through pictures. But If your happy for imperfection I would love you to book and enjoy its rustic charm.

It's full of homely useful goodies as per description .I would describe it as .... "it has more than less " yet very clean and tidy INSIDE.

SORRY no WiFi on property. Mobile hot spot can be used on our Smart TV ( TLC uhd google TV 42 in)
Not disabled friendly as it has 3 steps at front , 2 steps at back .

Please consider that an old building with its teal( green) wallpaper, 1950's old cupboards etc...V's clean is very different.
The pictures of inside are exactly how it is set up and will look as you walk in, though it's hard to show " old " so please don't expect perfection and you won't be disappointed.
Its had a good dose of summer love n fun !!

I supply most things a home would have including linen and towels and a few little things on welcome for your first night , such as snacks, tea ,coffee sugar, butter, long life milk, juice water, sweet treats , tissues and toilet paper .Along with shampoo , body wash , hand wash ,tooth brushes n paste,shower caps and shavers if you by chance forget yours .
There is washing powder, tea towels ,beach towels, bath towels, Linen , doonas, blankets etc..

It has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4 comfortably depending on your sleeping configuration.
One room has Queen bed , one room has 2 single beds.
All beds have electric blankets on for winter MONTHS ONLY, they are removed in Summer.

One room has a Queen bed with a KOALA brand mattress , 2nd bedroom has 2x single beds (you could move them together if you prefer to sleep closer) with dreamtime brand mattresses.
For bubs i have a HIGH CHAIR booster seat , can be attached to chair or sit on floor, and a PORTA COT with linen (these all under a single bed) perfect for small family stays.

Is child friendly, but not child proof or child safe as I DO NOT have child locks on any utilities or cupboards for active toddles.
All rooms have large ceiling fans (used with remote, in each room on wall )

The 2nd bedroom also has a TV which plays dvds only has NO antenna PLUS has an old time VIDEO player with LOADS of classic kids videos ( great for kids quiet time , after long day at beach and play ) I bet you remember hiring VIDEOS many years ago !!

There is a CD/radio player , board games , toys, doll house in cupboard, remote control cars, playing cards ,colouring books, puzzle books for all ages as well as books to read .

There are boogie boards (please replace boogie boards if lost or broken ) and lots of out door beach and ball games which are under single bed . Beach toys in big black bin outside . I have toys to suit all ages.

It has a cosy lounge room with open kitchen which is a little old fashioned RE the 1950's cupboards and the kitchen has all things like home plus microwave and washing machine .

Bathroom is not large , has small shower and an old fashioned large Laundry tub , rather than a small vanity, which we prefer as its a great size for washing out swimmers and wet suits so hence have left as laundry tub style rather than a modern small vanity basin !!
Has small separate toilet .

Has small cute closed in safe back yard, family child and pet friendly and large open front garden area ( pictures are showing yard so you can assess re pets , please DONT FORGET to inform me re pets ?? )

Doona's , pillows and extra blankets are supplied, tea towels , bath and beach towels and linen , BUT feel FREE to bring your own Linen and towels if you prefer( mine can be folded n left in cupboard)

Re PETS : and pet RULES
I am happy to have inside but PLEASE keep floors clean ,remove my furniture throws to avoid hair on and bring own.
Pets are ideally NOT allowed up on furniture or sleeping on my throws ,and definitely not allowed in/ on beds for sleeping ...and the property must be extra cleaned PLEASE and all pet hair removed from floors, , furniture tops , rugs , cushions etc..I have a vacume in cupboard to use for this .
If you know your pet does sneak up on furniture PLEASE bring own throws to cover . Or sneaks up on bed at night ?? while you sleep PLEASE bring and use your OWN Linen , Doona , doona cover, blankets , throws etc instead of mine. Please clean garden area of droppings , and if holes dug PLEASE fix !! thankyou in advance.

CLEANING
I DO NOT add on an extra cleaning fee or pet fee , saving you this added cost so all i request is that you leave as CLEAN neat and tidy as it was when you arrived... A a simple 10/15 min should do it nicely .
If not then a$60 per hour clean fee( and $80 pet fee) will be charged .

Arrival time generally 2pm and check out time about 11 am . I will always offer early check in and late check out when I can complimentary.


No SCHOOLIES, NO PARTIES and please inform me re PETS if you bring.

CARE and HOUSE friendly RULES
All i ask is that you Please look after property and furniture and leave the house tidy, neat and cleaned, especially re pets therefore left exactly as it was when you arrived .
Lost or damaged Linen/ towels will be under bond claim .
Make sure all taps turned off TIGHT and lights off, fans off , heater/air con off .
Electric blankets OFF.
Smoking , please do out side ONLY and dispose of.

PLEASE be considerate of others with noise as there is 6 units on the large block . If boogie boards lost or broken if you could replace for next guest, that be greatly appreciated , or let me know so i can replace and deduct from bond, If any concerns or problems arise please feel free to message me.

Car parking is on side of my property only and enough room for 2 cars . No extra guest with camper vans allowed.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD, overview

Torquay is just a gorgeous place for a relaxing weekend or short Holiday , its extremely peaceful and a really nice vibe , lots of shops and cafes to stroll to in all directions .. the main Torquay beach is at the end of street and the surf beach is a walk over and opposite.

Everything is in walking distance which makes the location so nice, and a lovely quiet peaceful street , plus not far from the famous Bells Beach or take a nice drive along the Great Ocean Rd to Lorne and further. There are Golf courses, Horse Ridding , pet friendly beach.

A LITTLE ABOUT US
We are from inner city Melbourne . We bought this property years ago as a getaway ,we couldn't afford much or a beautiful modern place and we thought this was just SO cute and unusual , great location and just perfect for us to relax and not worry that is was not perfect inside and bonus was it would be great for pets to stay .
We love the beach ,my son loves to surf ,our dog loves to swim !!
Hope you enjoy it as much as we do with a little skip and step back in time.
