Fantastic bush setting

A sturdy rammed earth cottage in the centre of the action in Yallingup. It is set on a rural block opposite the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park - just a short drive to Yallingup Beach, Caves House and the local coffee shop, and a mere 8 minutes into Dunsborough.

The house has 3 bedrooms which include 2 with Queen beds, the third bedroom has 2 sets of bunk beds (you can provide your own linen or we can be provide at an additional cost of $20 per person per stay). There is one bathroom with shower, and there is also an extra toilet off the laundry. The Clam has a great open Kitchen/lounge/dining area which is perfect for families and entertaining. The kitchen has everything you need in a home away from home.

The cottage features a large entertaining deck at the rear of the house. There is a BBQ and outdoor table and chairs so you can enjoy the peace and quiet. There is plenty of space for the kids to run around and be supervised from the deck.

The Clam is the perfect location to explore the Margaret River Region. It is walking distance to The Studio Bistro (an award winning restaurant which serves lunch and dinner). With the beach a short drive and all the conveniences of Dunsborough just 8 minutes drive away. There are numerous wineries within 10 minutes drive. Margaret River town is only a 30 minute drive away.

Good family getaway
Overall good family getaway Family friendly but just have to watch littler kids as there is a couple of big drop offs off the patio. Did get a bit warm as there is no air con but there was fans provided and if you opened up windows and doors you get a breeze through. Overall was a good stay, easy to get to location and not far from shops. Would recommend for a small weekend getaway.

Mums Weekend
We absolutely loved it. What a gorgeous place to stay. We had a ladies weekend for a couple of nights, it was very clean, homey, extra condiments and ample enough crockery and platters etc. lots of couch space for 8 ppl. Beautiful spot to sit outside and cozy and warm at night with the fire. Lots of movies and books to choose from. It was definitely a home away from home without husbands and kids! Perfect spot for a little wine touring and beautiful setting. We will hopefully be back sooner rather than later. Thankyou Karen for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful location
Beautiful quiet location. Unfortunately some maintenance issues during our stay. Power outlet wasn’t working and fireplace had not been cleaned and wouldn’t light. Ended up cleaning it out ourselves and managed to get it working. Plenty of room for two families to stay. Beds were comfortable. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

About the host

We live in Perth but love to get away to Yallingup. We really enjoy spending time at both Yallingup and Smiths beaches, as well as eating and drinking at many of the local wineries. There is so much to explore in the Margret River region!

Why they chose this property

We love The Clam because it is located so close to all the awesome things Yallingup has to offer. We Also love the setting in the bush as we always see kangaroos and it is such a quiet and relaxing spot.

What makes this property unique

Being so close to the beach, the pub and lots of wineries you can fit so much into every day it makes even a short stay feel like a holiday.
The house is so easy to hang out in - the living room is cosy and made for great family evenings playing board games or watching a movie.
The entertaining deck is my favorite spot in the early evening to watch the sun go down and enjoy the goodies we have collected on our travels, and usually involves a few kangaroo sightings
