Disliked: Listing accuracy
The property was listed as having outdoor space, garden, lawn, etc. It does not. The "patio" listed is just an extension of a garage with no real function beyond being an entryway / shoe storage / garbage bin storage.The bedroom and living room walls are up against a sidewalk and somewhat busy street. Noise through the night is common just a few feet away from bed. Having people outside coming home from bars at closing time happened on multiple occasions. The windows there are also fogged about 80% of the way up, so light / views are minimal. When inside, it does feel like you more in a basement than a ground level floor. Hosts are responsive, but you can hear them enter / leave premises, playing music (including drumset), closing doors (which sounds like a slam every time), etc. When I checked in, there were a few maintenance items which were needed (including a door handle to the bathroom that wasn't attached). They were all taken care of during my stay.Good location, close to Lygon Street and not far to Fitzroy. Note that parking is not included (hosts did cover the fee given the property being listed improperly). IMO, this property is overpriced, but my experience was also heavily influenced by having mismanaged expectations with the false listing.

Hi Russell, thank you for your feedback. We apologise that the space did not align with your expectations. An automated platform update incorrectly categorised the amenities without our knowledge. When you brought this and a few minor maintenance items to our attention a few days into your stay, we immediately offered you a refund if you wished to relocate, and provided the secure parking space free of charge to help make amends. We also promptly fixed the maintenance issues and updated the listing to remove any incorrect references. The Hive Graffiti Apartments were uniquely designed for urban living. Located on a bustling Carlton thoroughfare, the windows were frosted as a design choice to ensure street-level privacy while maximising natural light. To suit our heritage facade, we installed custom magnetic insulated windows to dampen urban sounds. We were pleased to hear that once directed to this feature in the house manual, you noted it made a significant difference to your comfort. As the architects and owners living upstairs, we designed this as a highly creative space. We have updated our listing to ensure we continue to attract guests who embrace a lively, artistic atmosphere. We appreciate you highlighting our excellent location and responsiveness, and we will continue working hard to provide the 5-star experience reflected in our other reviews.
