Evenstar Cottage-Idyllic Mountain getaway

A quiet little studio cottage for two in charming Blackheath, the perfect getaway and Tree Change from the hustle and bustle of city life. This property is located in the secluded back garden of a residential home. Separate access.

Queen sized bed, sofa, TV (sorry, free-to-air only), DVD player, toaster, coffee plunger fridge, microwave, electric frypan, portable hot plate, slow cooker, spa bath / shower and best of all: Peace and Quiet!

Minutes from Blackheath Village with its little shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants, Megalong Valley, Govett's Leap lookout, hiking trails, community markets and much more. Ten minutes drive (or a short train ride from the nearby railway station) from scenic, bustling Katoomba and lovely Leura .

Travel cot available on request for those with infants but wishing to get away for a weekend. (Baby sitting available by arrangement and at additional cost, subject to availability). Folding single bed and folding sofa bed available.

BBQ grill available for use (subject to availability).

Tea,coffee, hot chocolate available. 1 litre milk supplied on arrival
Bed linens and towels supplied.
Wood supplied for slow combustion fire.

Guests are able to arrive as late as they wish as the key is left available to access at any time.

Over and above expectations

A beautiful private space with all and more you could wish for. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. I would definitely book this for my next visit.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

A beautiful, peaceful and welcoming cottage tucked away in the Blue Mountains. A very smooth booking process and communication with the friendly owners was easy and efficient. Would definitely book again.

A comfortable cottage was updated and is even more comfortable this time. The new bathroom is a stunner. The setting is just beautiful and walking distance to cafés and shops. We'll come again for sure. Next time in winter to get the fire going.

Great little get away

I've stayed at Evenstar multiple times and always love our stay. It's a cosy granny flat that is well equipped for you to relax for a few days or use as a base to explore the area. Olwen keeps the house well maintained and stocked. Plenty of essential oil products to use, great coffee machine with beans. Kitchen is stocked with all sorts of tea and coffee. Plenty of cushions and blankets to really cosy up. Fire wood provided for the first night so you don't need to think, just light a fire and relax. I love staying here and long forward to the next stay.

Perfect little cottage get away

We just loved this little cottage. It has been set up with all the luxuries you would need for a romantic weekend away, or as a well equipped place to self cater for your big days out exploring the Blue Mountains. Would love to come back in Summer and see the beautiful gardens in full bloom.

Warm and charming cottage. Perfect couple retreat!

The cottage was just what we needed for a short getaway for our anniversary. The combustion fireplace made the cold night warm and cosy and all the extra touches in the cabin made it very inviting. It was very clean and well kept with lovely garden views. The proximity to town and trail heads was fantastic. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Very Quiet Secluded

The fire was set for us and burnt easily on a cold rainy night .. no need for TV . The birds came right up to the verandah in the morning.Lots of very nice add ons .. oils, soaps,Coffee Machine.. thank you

Perfect Autumn weekend getaway!

This cottage is the perfect weekend getaway to stay at in the season of autumn. We had everything we needed and more, Olwen and her family were lovely and responded quickly to communication. We even had left behind items arranged to be picked up in Sydney thanks to her kindness. A must stay cottage if you are travelling to the mountains this year!

Perfect little hideaway

We had such a great time at Evenstar. Olwen and her family were perfect hosts, greeting us at the gate and preparing a beautiful fire for our arrival. The studio is private and cosy with everything needed for a lovely stay. Ideal for a romantic weekend away - we'll leave the toddler behind next time!

Evenstar cottage was almost perfect! It is situated in a most gorgeous Blue Mountains garden that is about to burst into masses of blooms. A cute blue cottage with equally attractive decor. Very quiet but easy to find. Super cosy. Fire laid in the grate ready to go. Underfloor heating in bathroom much appreciated in chilly morning. Everything you’d want in the little kitchen area but no oven or hotplate ( there is a big electric frypan so you can do a big breakfast &, if you wanted to, cook a roast with all the trimmings in it)Hiwever, its the little extras. The oil diffuser was on when I arrived and the place smelt lovely. Plenty of oils available to choose from to your mood. Lavender toiletries in the bathroom & towelling gowns. Lots of rugs and cushions & an inviting little table & chairs on the wooden front deck which was sundrenched when I arrived & I had more than one cup of tea out there in the sun. Lots of teas to choose from, a coffee machine that looks fancy, hot chocolate & marshmallows. Cute cosy on the teapot too. I ate at Ates, a very cool venue on main street. Delicious food. I also reccomend Megalong Tea Rooms, not far away actoss the railway, for breakfast, devonshire teas or lunch. I walked the Grand Canyon Track from Evans Head, a short drive away. Just beautiful!Blackheath is only a short trip to Katoomba & Leura and I think is the nicer town to stay in as it has more old fashioned charm. Will be back!!

Great Secluded Getaway

Lovely weekend stay. The cottage had everything needed for a relaxing stay, including coffee machine, tea and hot chocolate (with marshmallows)Great location with Easy walk into Blackheath village, or to surrounding walking tracks.Fire was set ready for our arrival and cosy blankets on the lounge to snuggle up in.Cottage was very clean and comfortable, we would highly recommend stay.

Comfortable and convenient

We loved the warm towels and heated bathroom floor. The location was easycwalking distance to Govett's Leap Rd, central retail and cafes. We picked up the Braeside Trail to hike to Govett's Leap, easily down the road.

Getaway Weekend.

The cottage is nestled around a beautiful garden, We enjoyed all the beautiful products available for use and the essential oils making the experience even more relaxing.Walking distance to town and the golf club a 5 min drive.We would definitely stay there again.

The Autumn leaves are stunning in the upper Blue Mountains and is a beautiful time to visit. Rhododendron time in October and November are also lovely. Or simply come to enjoy the crisp winter air. There is no bad time to visit.
