Tallgums Hideaway - family beach retreat

Tallgums hideaway is a charming cedar cottage close to Broulee Beach and the Tomaga river.

It has 2 double bedrooms (one double and one queen bed) and two lofts with two single beds in each. Lofts are accessed by ladders and are suitable for children over the age of seven or adults without mobility problems.

Pillows and doonas are provided but you need to bring your own sheets, pillowslips, towels and teatowels.
The bathroom has a shower, toilet, basin and also laundry sink and a small washing machine.
The kitchen has refrigerator, oven, microwave and a full complement of crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment and cooling air conditioning and separate electric heating.

On site parking will accommodate 2 cars.

The cottage is surrounded by a natural garden of spotted gums and cycads.
Walk to the Tomaga river in 5 minutes or to Broulee beach in 15 minutes (5 minutes by car).

Note: the property is available for a minimum of two days.

Disappointing

Not as described at all. To be fair to owners I have contacted them privately since to make them aware of details. I hope we experienced a one-off stay, as previous reviews were good! Basically, It wasnt clean, rubbish on bedroom floor, dog hair inside & a lingering musty smell in every room.

Good little shady cabin

Old fashion holiday house. No internet/pay tv just normal free to air, good beds and loft style rooms for teenager was a hit too. It’s two queen beds not Double & queen like told and it’s a portable air con which is fine for the little place.

a Couple of Days at the Beach

We were happy to see that Glyn and Fiona had left a torch to help us find the key to this little gem of a house. We didn't arrive until midnight after our long drive from Melbourne. The house is in a beautiful neighborhood and fit all of our needs. The coffee cafe a few blocks away is a gem too! Would come back here when we return hoping sooner than later.Thank you for a lovely stay.

Tallgums

Quiet area, short drive to many local beaches.older cottage but very clean and lots of extras provided. Kitchen quite dated but plenty of cooking utensils etc all in all, a comfortable place to stay.

Great location to enjoy nature and switch off

We enjoyed our time this week. The kids aged 9 and 11 enjoyed the lofts and their own space. Dogs were accomodated inside and the yard was secure enough for our two large/ medium sized dogs. Cottage is how it was explained in description and met our needs perfectly. We enjoyed the lagoon, beach, dog walks, local cafe, kayaking and fishing close by. We bought our chrome caste and used a mobile hotspot on our rainy day and enjoyed a day in watching a couple of movies on netflix but used the other days to switch off and wind down from a busy year. Thank you. We will be back.
