Located in the urban core of Kansas City, Hyde Park goes north/south from Linwood Boulevard (32nd Street) to 47th Street and west/east from Gillham Road to Troost Avenue.
Hyde Park was a watering hole for pioneers heading west on the Santa Fe Trail. A stream and a cave with a natural spring made the area an ideal overnight spot for travelers. The neighborhood's history begins in the 1880s.
Today, Hyde Park is filled with mostly residents and some businesses along its Troost Avenue border. For more restaurants and bars, visit Westport and the Country club plaza which is less than 10 minutes away. If you are a jogger/biker, Gillham Park runs along the western border of Gillham Road. For more information, see William the host.
Just one block away is the Troost MAX which travels from downtown to the Crossroads district, Hospital Hill and south along Troost to Bannister. Troost MAX offers local service south of 75th Street. Other major destinations include the East Village development (currently under construction), Discovery Center, UMKC Hospital Hill and Main Campus, Rockhurst University, The Landing, Truman Medical Center, and Children’s Mercy Hospital. Park and Rides are located at 31st & Troost, 95th & Troost, and the Bannister & Hillcrest area. Trail Connections are a vital part of Troost MAX: a future trail between Troost & Bannister will connect to the Trolley Track Trail near 87th & Garfield.
MAX stations are well-lit and feature a distinctive, easily identifiable information marker, and a specially designed passenger shelter. The stations are clearly marked and named, featuring easy-to-understand route maps and real-time transit information. Riders have instant and constantly updated access to the exact arrival time through GPS technology and real-time signs at MAX stations.

This property was just as described! It’s a beautiful home with a lot of room to spread out, lots of seating, and the best part is each bedroom having its own bathroom. Plus their own tv! The only downfall are the stairs if you would happen to be elderly or bad knees, but there is one bedroom on the main floor. Overall a great place to stay!!
Easiest check in/check out we've ever had. Asked to strip the beds and that's about it for the guest labor part of the stay. Had the whole family there for a college graduation and was very convenient for all of us. Plenty of room. Would definitely book again.
Our host William was exceptional! He answered every question so quickly and helped with recommendations. And, in less than a minute helped us when we were locked out - what perfect service he provided!! The property was amazingly clean and had everything we needed. We had 11 guests total and there were ample linens and towels for all of us. The check in and check out was a breeze. The kitchen was fully equipped to allow us to cook and entertain. There were games inside and, in the backyard, to keep all of us occupied and happy. Every room and bathroom was setup perfectly for each guest/couple. Thank you very much to William and Vrbo for allowing us to have the perfect memory for our son's high school graduation!!!!
This was a wonderful place to stay for me and my husband and our wedding party on our wedding night. The bedrooms all have their own bathroom and the beds are very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much. The private parking lot is also very convenient
Nice property in good location! We enjoyed our stay in this home.

Liked: Check-in, communication, listing accuracy
The house is in need of a good deep clean and some painting on the first floor. Otherwise it worked well for our group. We choose it because it was near the 2 events we were attending.

Told William several weeks ahead that I had made a mistake on my reservation. Instead of 3 nights we only needed 2 nights. Never heard back from him and got the computerised checkin information. Couldn't find any extra coffee pods and sent him a message. Never heard back. After our stay asked for a refund of the one night and never heard back from him. Poor communication. Won't book next year when we make our annual pilgrimage to Kansas City with 6 guys for golf

The house was perfect for our needs. Decorated with a Christmas tree was a great ambiance. beds were great and amenities provided by the host were upscale. we had 8 single people and thought this house had 8 beds, we managed sharing the King bed. Stair banister to second floor was loose and is a hazard, We just used the one staircase so didn't become an issue. Getting off the highway and driving to the house was a bit sketchy but no problems were encountered. Overall an excellent stay for us!
Overall it was the perfect place for a group of us who were in KC for a game. It was pretty good proximity to all the things we were planning on doing. Driving to the property some areas looked a little sketchy, but once we got into the property there were no issues. Lots of communication from property host.
Parking great, right next to house. Security lighting great. Ring security system. Backyard fenced in, firepit with 4 chairs, patio table set with 6 chairs, shared yard with next door house which is not a problem. 4 bedrooms upstairs with full bathroom in each room, small kitchenette upstairs with washer & dryer & extra linens & towels etc. Double staircase each with 15 steps going upstairs. Large dining room with 2 tables with 6 chairs each, living room with high top table with 4 chairs, 2 wing back chairs at one end & 2 occasional chairs & sofa sleeper couch, TV at the other end. 1/2 bath off dining room. Bedroom with bath on main floor. Smaller kitchen with stove, oven, coffee makers, toaster, dishwasher, large refrigerator/freezer. We had plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, etc. for our large group of 13. House Host easy to communicate with & has immediate response time. House bout 2.7 miles from downtown, easy to get around KC. Wonderful house for our group of 13. Suggest taking the KC Trolley tour for overall locations, things to see & history of KC. Highly recommend visiting the WW1 Museum & Union Station. We would highly recommend using this house for your KC visit!! Thanks, William!!

I currently live in the Historic Manheim Park community where I have served in the past as a member of the Community Leadership Council (e.g., Board of Directors) and oversee all housing and infrastructure development projects on behalf of the community. I am currently active in the community working with the Urban Neighborhood Initiative, the Troost Community Investment District Development Committee and several other local organizations. I love Kansas City and I am eager to lend my time and talents to help our local communities grow and thrive.
I moved to Kansas City approximately ten years ago to attend the University of Missouri at Kansas City where I completed a bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies with a concentration in community development. Through my training, I developed a passion for working in Kansas City communities and specifically leveraging resources from various sources to help these communities to become safer, more livable places where residents are proud to call these communities home. My interest in Urban Neighborhoods stems from this passion to leverage my talents as an urban planner and my training/professional experience in business to help improve the lives of people who live in central Kansas City. Beyond working with Urban neighborhoods, I have a passion in gardening and renovating houses.
