We are a couple of seniors looking for some quiet time in WNC. This cabin was the perfect retreat for us, yet also close to Boone, Appalachian State College and Grandfather Mountain. The view from the cabin is spectacular, especially at sunset, which could be enjoyed from the spacious deck or firepit area. Although the cabin maintains a cozy rustic feel, the bathrooms and kitchen have been updated and are well stocked. The owners were quickly responsive to any concerns we had. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This place exceeded my expectations. It is a beautiful, well kept property. The owners helped throughout the trip. I highly recommend if you are looking for seclusion while being centralized to many beautiful towns, this place was perfect. We loved our stay.

What a wonderful cabin in the hills of Bethel Valley. Great view off the front porch - very cozy cabin with all the amenities. Nonissues at all; was as expected and advertised. Great communication with the host. If you need quick supplies, head to Tommy’s Stone Mountain Store just up the road (about 3 miles). My family has lived in the area for about 30 years so we know our way around.

Overall a great place to stay. Based on the photos we brought k-cups only to find out there was no Keurig. We were able to run to the store to get ground coffee. Only 4WD vehicles should attempt the driveway. As noted by others, there are dogs that bark all the time. We used a white noise app to sleep. The house is beautiful.

Beautifully landscaped property, out door spaces were extensive and well cared for. Inside out the cabin was immaculate. Everything from the light switches to the spoon drawers were labeled for ease of use. This cabin had everything needed for a great family trip.

The cabin and surrounding yard are small, but the owners have done a great job of utilizing all of the space. Location was good and the cabin is very well stocked. The outside grill was the only potential negative as it’s older and doesn’t cook evenly but we figured it out. Overall, it was a great stay for the six of us and we would definitely recommend to a friend.

Olen and Cynthia were great hosts and this cabin has a lovely view and is well stocked. However, there are multiple openings in the downstairs bedroom where a bat was able to get in and wake me up at 3:00 am. It attacked me. My husband was able to kill it, but we spent two days waiting for animal control to test the bat. The owners were willing to comp the two days but also let us know that you are staying to this cabin at your own risk as it is not realistic to get the holes permanently sealed in an old cabin. The power also went out for a full evening after a storm came through. I do not hold the owners responsible for that. Just know it’s also a possibility where it is located. I did not know the protocol for waking up in a room with a bat, so I would def advise you to look that up before hand. Had we not subdued it, we were looking at rabies shots which run between 5,000-7,000 a person. Again, nice, accessible owners and a well stocked rental with a nice view. Our experience was unfortunate.

Great Cabin!

This was a beautiful, well-kept cabin. Private and out of the way, yet only 20 minutes to Boone NC. We loved it and we hope to stay there again some time.
