Our charming cottage features a large master bedroom suite, antique heart of pine floors, wood burning fireplace, screened in porch, deck, landscaped garden, washer/dryer, dishwasher and fully equipped kitchen. Internet and basic cable are included. Second bedroom contains a double bed.

You'll love the area: Our cottage is located 5 minutes from historic Bellport Village which features restaurants, shops, antique stores, a museum, country club and marina as well as a regional theater, The Gateway Playhouse. Walk down the block to Beaverdam Creek or take 1/2 mile stroll to the Great South Bay, or a short drive to Smith Point Beach. Property is approximately a 45 minute drive from Long Island's North Fork and the Hamptons, and 65 miles from mid-town Manhattan.

Loved it!

This is the ideal house for an easy, relaxed, peaceful, stay, you immediately feel at home and on vacation! The location is great and very private, which is hard to find, and the hosts could not have been more accommodating. The house is big enough for a family of 4 but not too big for a couple. I could not have found a better home away from home.

Comfortable cottage, beautiful area, lovely hosts

We stayed at Susan and Alan's home for a month shortly after the birth of our son. The house is lovely; a recently renovated master bedroom and bathroom on one end, updated kitchen, two small additional bedrooms and second bath on the other end of the house. The house was comfortable for a couple and baby, and there was also space for family to visit periodically over the month. There is a beautifully landscaped backyard and screened in porch as well. The area is great - gorgeous walks around the neighborhood, a nature preserve and a short drive to nearby Bellport, which has restaurants, shops and some entertainment. Alan and Susan gave us a tour of the home prior to booking (we live in the city and were therefore able to view prior to making a decision), met us at the cottage when we moved in, set us up with everything we needed to know, and remained available by phone and email throughout our trip. They could not have been kinder or more accommodating and we look forward to returning.

Charming, quiet getaway

I have stayed at several homeaway properties as a frequent traveler, and really enjoyed staying at this one. The neighborhood is safe and friendly, and was close to my jobsite. The property was clean, the kitchen well equipped, and the house light and airy. I found dealing with Susie the landlady very easy, and she dealt with the one small issue I had ( a malfunctioning smoke alarm ) very quickly and without fuss. I am looking forward to staying here again this fall.

Our family lives and works in NYC. We purchased this cottage about 20 years ago as a place to go in the summertime and we rent it out during the fall, winter and spring. We've been lucky enough to have rented it to many wonderful people through the years who've fallen in love with the house and the area, some even deciding to purchase homes here themselves.

The moment we set eyes on this cottage and the surrounding village and hamlet, we knew it was the place we wanted to set down roots. Quiet and comfortable, but near enough to everything you need as well as not too far from New York City, we invite you to come and enjoy it too.
