Renters Beware
This property was one of the grimiest rentals we've ever stayed in. It appears that this unit has not had a deep cleaning in a very long time and that the regular cleanings between renters are cursory at best. If I owned this property, I would be utterly embarrassed at the state of it and fire my cleaning crew immediately.
Floors were not swept and carpet was not vacuumed. Every area of the unit needed some sort of attention from the grease splatters on the kitchen cooktop and the toothpaste splatters in the bathrooms to the dining and living rooms tables that had evidence of previous renters (crumbs and drips). By far the kitchen was the most disgusting - crumbs and dirty utensils in the drawers - but the bathrooms held a close second with the dirty baseboards and baseboard heaters covered in hair and grime. In the kitchen, we even pulled a knife out of the knife block that had been used and then returned without being cleaned.
Luckily, the unit was stocked with Clorox wipes so I could sanitize not only for general filth but also for the risk of Covid. We will not stay in this unit again and recommend that you find another one.
**I emailed this review prior to posting with a person named Scott who was our contact person for the unit. Eight days later, he still has not responded.**
The property was great! Everything you need for a family ski trip. The skiing access is awesome... once you figure out to take the snowflake lift. DO NOT GO TO THE GONDOLA! The instructions are clearly laid out for you, I just didn’t read them until day 2.
My only real complaint would be that we went the week following Christmas. Prices are high and breckenridge is incredibly packed. This is no fault of the property or it’s owner, just be aware of the crowds and prices if you choose to ski this week.
Too much to say.
- The unit is dirty, needs deep cleaning. There was somebody's hair on the linen, the bathrooms were full of dust in the corners and underneath the toilet. The towels are very old, don't feel fresh at all. Kitchen drawers are dirty, you don't want to put your washed silverware there. Stove top has not been washed for a while.
- The air in Colorado is very dry. Every unit we stayed in last 10 years had at least 2 humidifiers. When we asked the manager and later the owner for humidifiers in this unit, they responded next day and texted us that they don't provide humidifiers. As a result, there was no restful sleep at night. Additionally, the foam mattresses and foam pillows in both bedrooms are terrible. There were 3 rolls of toilet paper in the unit. When we asked for more, we were told that we have to buy our own because that is all they provide for 6 people.
- The sofa in the living room is supposed to sleep 2 people. The mattress was so bad that nobody was able to sleep on it. It was a torture for 2 teenagers first night. They had to sleep on the dirty floor rest of the time.
- The unit is on the 3rd floor, a lot of stairs!
Stay away from this place, it is not worth your money at all!
To start with the property says remodeled, that is partially true. The worst part of the property is that it is not clean. The floors hadn’t been mopped or even swept. There was hair all over the bathroom and showers. The bed is like a piece of plywood. I am not aware where you can find a bed of such poor quality. The price is out of line with what you are getting. We forfeited a night and went home early it was so poor. I wouldn’t risk it find a better property.
Booked condo last minute and were not disappointed. Loved the fact that the kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies which was great during a pandemic.
