Ellis Lake Resort - Chalet - Interlochen/Traverse City
Part of Ellis Lake Resort, the Chalet is a quaint mid-sized A frame with all the amenities you typically find in your own home. It's large windows throughout give lots of natural light and the rooms reflect the colors of the outdoors giving it a very relaxing atmosphere. *The Chalet can sleep at least 8 comfortably with its 2 bedrooms and nice spacious loft upstairs. It has a good sized kitchen with everything you need for cooking, even a picnic table for seating. There is a TV in the cozy living room, a traditional bathroom with a bathtub/shower and a washer and dryer for your convenience. *The yard space sits beneath the pines with a basketball hoop, a large grassy area with a fire pit for marshmallow roasting and singalongs. There is a grill and picnic table, if outside dinners are your preference on a lovely summers eve. *The Chalet is 1 minute walk out the back door to the outdoor hot tub located in the woods beneath the pines and stars for all at the Resort to enjoy separately. Just another minute from the front door, you will be down at our water front on Ellis Lake. This 50+ acre lake is enjoyed by the nature lover as you can sit on the lovely deck in the early morning hours enjoying the morning mist and often hearing the call of the loons and seeing the swans, ducks and cranes when they are back for the season. During the day our guests enjoy taking a rowboat out to try their skills at fishing for pike, bass, perch or bluegill. Take a canoe, paddle boat, or row out and paddle around the lake to look for the painted turtles that often sun themselves on the logs near the shoreline. A swim raft sits in the middle of the lake enticing you to take a dip or enjoy the warmth of the sun. *In the evening, enjoy a campfire at the fire pit and take in the billions of stars that often reflect on the water as there are no lights to hinder this magnificent view.

The property was very clean and cozy. There was plenty of room and beds available for the 7 of us. We enjoyed fishing, games that were provided, grilling our meals and the quiet environment in the woods. I got to speak with the owner Becky and she was very delightful. I will definitely plan a stay there again.

It was a pleasure to meet you Carlie. Thank you for your kind words. We look forward to seeing you again sometime.
We had such a fun stay visiting the area. The owner was very responsive and so nice! The women who work in the office are INCREDIBLE. The woman with the brown hair and glasses was so kind and pointed out all the best places to visit and helped us plan hikes and wine tours. It was such a relaxing and fun trip :)

Ashley and her group were a joy to have with us over the weekend. They were kind and took great care of the Chalet where they stayed. We welcome Ashley and this group back anytime.
We really enjoyed our stay here! Our kids loved the loft area of the cabin - it was a great relaxing hangout just for them. The cabin is on the older side but very clean and comfortable. It's on a nice, small lake that includes boats for use. and a nice swimming raft. Sunsets were stunning. It's a little far out from Traverse City and Sleeping Bear but we didn't mind at all. We enjoyed relaxing evenings around the fire pit looking at the stars. The owners are really responsive and friendly. We were welcomed with some delicious homemade blueberry cake and some beautiful flowers. Thank you!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
Disappointed.
Hot tub is NOT private FYI. We signed up for a time slot to use the community hot tub, and owners decided to empty/clean it right before our time slot and left it 80 degrees. When we went back to shower after our freezing experience, there was NO SHOWER HEAD! Owners were not helpful at all and extremely condescending. I was extremely disappointed and couldn’t enjoy any part of our stay involving this property. Wouldn’t recommend.

We are sorry your stay fell short of your expectations. We wish, Alexis, you would have connected with us while you were staying with us, rather than the day after you left.
Our description of the Chalet states the hot tub is enjoyed by all at the Resort. It is not a private hot tub. We have a board at the office for guests to sign up for an hour of private usage during the evening and again during the morning and afternoon if one chooses. The hot tub, unfortunately, was not up to the highest temperature until late Saturday evening due to it needing to be cleaned.
The shower head is called a water saver swivel shower head. It is smaller than the normal swivel shower head the general population would have in their homes. I can see how you could think it was just a pipe as it is the same color as the pipe. I did offer to take it off and take a picture of it to show it is different than the pipe. This could have been cleared up quickly had there been communication with us while you were staying here.
