Bellbird Bach by the Beach

A relaxed getaway only 5 minutes walk to the beach.

**Bellbird Bach bookings open mid-2026 for the summer season October 2026 to April 2027.**

Bellbird Bach is charmingly comfortable, warm and sunny. The master bedroom offers lovely views to the garden often visited by friendly fantails, swallows and bellbirds. A log burner will keep you warm and cosy on cooler evenings. There is a large deck to enjoy the sun and the property is fully fenced with a play hut, slide and swing for kids to enjoy. Well behaved four legged furry friends are welcome too.

Waikuku Beach is a lovely sandy beach with a lifeguarded area for safe swimming in the summer and a great spot for surfing. The estuary showcases wonderful bird life. Nearby whale paddling pool, playground, flying fox and tennis courts provide hours of entertainment.

Visit the Waikuku Beach General Store for great fish and chips, ice-creams and hot and cold beverages. Only 5 minutes by car is the Brick Mill Café and situated at the Old School Collective is a variety of retail and lifestyle businesses.

Waikuku offers a range of walkways and cycle tracks including the Rakahuri Trail and Taranaki Walkway. The Pegasus Trail takes you from Waikuku Beach to Pegasus and on to Woodend through a pine forest. Pegasus is 6 minutes away by car and offers a championship golf course, picturesque lake and natural wetlands.

Special conditions: Cleaning service available, otherwise please leave Bellbird Bach clean and tidy. Bed linen is optional, towels are provided. Please respect our neighbours with no loud parties or music.

Bellbird Bach, a home away from home, was a lovely respite for us. Clean, tidy, and adorable.

The house is built for family and comfort, with a wonderful yard for kids, a delightful fairy garden, and a cute playhouse. Our grandkids loved it. We greatly enjoyed the beach and the spectacular Ashley River estuary.

Kick back and relax!

Always a great stay at Bellbird, everything is set up so nicely, alot of thought put in to what you need for a relaxing stay. We really appreciate being allowed to stay here, kids have a great time on the swings, bubbles and various games while parents get to relax on the deck. Beach and playground a short stroll away, perfect!

We love this place!

2nd time we have stayed. Great communication with Jess, check in process was a breeze. We were prepared and brought another fan with us so we had two to use (one already in house). Great location, great facilities - has everything you could need! Especially great for kids is the outside area with sandpit and playhouse. You can sit on deck and let them play. Books and colouring in materials also a bonus. Can't recommend highly enough. We will definitely be booking again.

We have absolutely loved it. This place is well looked after and there is a love for detail with everything provided. My two daughters had a blast and loved spending time in the bach as much as on the beach, the playground nearby or in Pegasus. Would definitely come back.

Tranquil oasis

Such a lovely gem to stay in, everything you could need or want is provided,the place is just tranquility, from the moment we arrive we are able to relax. My children are 11years old and 7 ,they never are bored here,the garden is amazing and inspiring,the setup is so thoughtful. We love it here and Waikuku itself is just a gem. Summer vacation

Bellbird Bach was everything and more than we could have hoped for. It's position was perfect for everything we wanted to do such as a day trips to Hanmer Springs, Orana Park and the beach. Our host Jess was fantastic in her communication and provided answers to all our questions. The property was perfect for our boys who loved the swing and playhouse. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the deck for relaxing and reading our books. Bellbird Bach is absolutely beautiful and perfect for a family holiday. (The only thing that would have made it better was a fan in the main bedroom and an iron, but that's more on me for bringing clothes that need ironing, I mean seriously who iron's on holiday?!)

Bellbird exceptional break away.

Bellbird bach was an exceptional stay. All the little extras were thought of Eg dog towels, folded newspapers for the dog poo, kids games super cool playhouse outside, lovely private garden, big deck, it was clean, the kitchen was well equipped, excellent sized living area. We could not fault this place really and highly recommend it as a great break away.

Bellbird Bach you little beauty

We love staying at Bellbird bach. This is our 2nd visit and it was as good as we remembered it. Charlie (our spaniel) loves it particularly how close it is to the beach. Comfy, well appointed and homely - an awesome place.
