This place was great! The house had everything I needed, the host was very responsive, and it's a great place to relax. The spa is especially nice and it was very clean which is a big thing for me. This was definitely one of the best places I've stayed and I can't wait to book this place again.
Spas were great, hidden spa was my favorite. Place was even nicer than the photos let on.

What an amazing place to stay. Jared has every aspect of being comfortable and feeling at home taken care of when you stay. The host was very gracious and friendly. Jared was very easy to talk to and always available with any questions you may have. I wish I could give 10 stars.

Thank you for the wonderful review! We’re glad you had a relaxing and peaceful stay and enjoyed both the cabin and the surrounding area. We’d love to host you again anytime.
Property is just as advertised, clean and well equipped with everything needed for a wonderful time. Onsite host was pleasant and helpful. We did not accurately appreciate the distance it was off the paved and county maintained gravel roads (last several miles were rougher, private road) but once we arrived, the solitude and peace and quiet were definitely worth the drive

Would have stayed longer if the weather hadnt raised concern for the last day. Owner is good with communication.

This beauty is a hidden gem! One of the most beautiful areas I've ever seen. This rental is a great place to unwind and relax. Taking in the fresh mountain air, and scenery never disappoint at this retreat. The last mile of the road is a bit rough, but is easily traversed. Thank you Shattuck mountain retreat for helping us get our relax on!

Thank you for the wonderful review! We’re so glad you found Shattuck Mountain Retreat to be a hidden gem and a perfect place to unwind and relax. The scenery and fresh mountain air really are special, and we appreciate you noting that while the final stretch of road is a bit rough, it’s easily traversed. We’d love to host you again anytime you’re ready for another mountain escape.
This place is absolutely the best! Everything you need to really enjoy getting away from it all. We only stayed 2 nights, but left wishing we carved more time in our vacation to stay at least a week here. We had wild turkeys come and feed both mornings. Would for sure not rent a minivan next time, as the way gets a little rough towards the end. Anything higher up than a minivan will have no problems. If you follow the directions provided, it brings you right to the cabin. Thank you for such a great experience!

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the cabin, the peaceful setting, and the wildlife, those wild turkeys are definitely part of the experience. You’re absolutely right that following the directions makes the drive smooth, and we appreciate you sharing that tip for future guests. We’d love to host you again for a longer stay next time.
This was my first Vrbo experience and boy did this host set a bar. I got this cabin over Valentines weekend it was just me and my GF and we didn't want to go to far out of town but wanted to be in the woods and this location was PERFECT! I took my Jeep up there and did just fine but any suv truck or lifted car can easily make it to the location. First off when I initially made contact with the host he was very pleasant to deal with and was all for me asking questions, so the host was extremely nice and informative. Next, once I reached the cabin I was mind blown! It's nestled in it's own little area and you feel like you are the only ones around, It was extremely peaceful. The cabin itself was meticulously cleaned and everything had a label or instructions which was amazing for my ADHD and OCD, I had zero questions how to operate anything or find anything in the home. He took a lot of pride in his home for guests to enjoy with all the amenities you could ask for and more! The hot tub was super clean and could tell it was well maintained, all the dishes and kitchen ware were clean and well organized, I can say I have ZERO negatives to give this host and his cabin. I did pop my drone in the air to find the "secret spa" but didn't go down to the actual tub as we were content with the giant spa off the porch but it was a cool fun thing for us to find even though we cheated a bit ;] overall 5 star review since I can't leave more, we will be booking again in the future!
Property was as advertised and much more. Very peaceful location and extremely clean. Every possible amenity imaginable was provided. We enjoyed returning here each evening after exploring all that Idaho has to offer. Jared was a fantastic host and we will definitely stay here again when we return!

It’s great to hear you enjoyed exploring Idaho and returning each evening to relax. We truly appreciate the kind words and would love to host you again when you return.
Booked a long weekend in January. The host was great communicating with us before we arrived on the road conditions. Check-in was great. The cabin is upscale, clean, and quiet. Over the weekend we got a few feet of snow reached out to the host and he arranged for a plow to come take care of the road so that we can get out. We plan to come back and stay in the summer and highly recommend this property.

Thank you for the great review! We’re glad you enjoyed the cabin, the peaceful setting, and the winter experience. Snow is definitely part of mountain life, and we’re happy we could coordinate plowing to keep access safe and smooth during your stay. We’d love to host you again in the summer, it’s a completely different and equally beautiful experience.
We booked the cabin as an alternative to staying in a hotel in Boise while we were there working for the week. Loved the seclusion and the drive in and out. Added to the daily adventure. The house was great. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed.

Thank you for the incredible review! We’re honored to hear this was your best VRBO stay and that the cabin exceeded your expectations for comfort and cleanliness. We truly appreciate the kind words and look forward to welcoming you back.
Coming from the NYC metro area, spending a week at the cabin was a fantastic break from the grind. The house was beautiful and had everything I could have wanted. The property was ideal for outdoor exploring, grilling or just relaxing to enjoy nature. Was able to see a herd of Elk come through, wild turkeys and even a coyote one afternoon (he was not close and ran off, no danger). I would 100% recommend the cabin to anyone who enjoys the outdoors and a comfortable, but secluded, getaway.

Thank you for the amazing review! We’re so glad the cabin was a perfect escape from the city and that you enjoyed the outdoor space, wildlife sightings, and peaceful setting. Elk, turkeys, and the occasional coyote really do make the experience special. We truly appreciate the recommendation and would love to host you again anytime you’re ready for another secluded getaway.
This property was a challenge to rate.We had everything we needed, the house was very clean and well stocked. Any issues we had while we were there were taken care of promptly. It is a beautiful property. All that is positive. On the negative side, the property is very remote and access is not simple. There are lots and lots of rules. We added 1 night of extra people and the charge was excessive in our opinion. Although I understand the need for outdoor security cameras while the property is unoccupied, there was no need for them while staying there, especially since one of the hosts is close by. It gave us a creepy feeling, knowing we were being recorded every time we were outside.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a detailed review. We’re glad to hear you found the home very clean, well stocked, and that any issues during your stay were handled promptly.
We understand that the remote location and access can feel challenging for some guests, and we do our best to clearly describe this in the listing so travelers can decide if it’s the right fit. Regarding the exterior cameras, they are fully disclosed in advance and are limited to outdoor areas only, in compliance with platform rules and local regulations. In addition to property security, they are also used to observe local wildlife such as elk and turkeys, which are frequent visitors to the area. Guests have full access to view these cameras on the living room TV if they wish.
We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving communication and setting clear expectations for future guests.

If you are looking for a house away from it all where you can experience nature look no further. Well stocked with everything you need in the kitchen, bathroom. Tons of movies, karaoke a wood stove, 2 outdoor fires and a hot tub. Everything in the house is new and clean with tons of bedding. 2 things to be aware of the house requires a 10 min drive on dirt roads and is an hour from Boise so stock up before you get there.
