A very nice place. Very clean and comfortable beds. The only caveat is that the steep staircase to the apartment should be emphasized in the event of mobility issues.
The apartment was very clean and in a great location, and the host is very friendly and communicative.

Similar names for accommodations caused confusion in booking. The Strand house and the Strand house with hot tub seems like its the same location and both had 17 as the street number.
I'd stay at this rental again. It was clean, well cared for, and conveniently located a short walk to the attractions in the Rondout. The owner, who lives downstairs, was easy to communicate with and responsive to our requests.
Ann was a lovely and informative host, while giving us our privacy. Knowing we were celebrating our anniversary, Ann greeted us with fresh flowers. The place is decorated beautifully. I would have bet anything Ann was an artist. Town is within walking distance from great restaurants and friendly people.

This apartment is so cute and large. The decor is professional level. Bathroom is retro and cool. It looks a bit tired but that didn’t affect our visit. Parking on the street was no problem. Check in was a little slow because it was still being cleaned.

This was a very disappointing stay, especially for a New Year’s trip with family. The cleanliness was unacceptable. There was hair and dog hair on the blankets, hair inside the bathtub, and dirt throughout the house. It was extremely uncomfortable and far below basic hospitality standards. The house is entirely wooden, and you can hear absolutely everything — conversations, footsteps, normal movement. If you’re traveling with children, be aware of this. Even though the host knew in advance that we were traveling with two kids, I still received messages asking us not to make noise, which felt unreasonable for a holiday stay.We also spent two full days without hot water. No one was able to take a shower at all. Although a technician was sent, we were told that the pipes are old and that the system cannot handle hot water for multiple people. This means the house simply cannot support normal use when occupied by a family. If the property cannot meet basic needs like hot water, it should not be rented out.Despite the issue, no real solution was provided, and we were left without hot water in freezing temperatures.Overall, this was a major disappointment. This situation reflects both a failure by the host and a failure by the platform to allow a property like this to be rented without proper infrastructure. I’m leaving this review as a warning for future guests.
My wife, dog, and I just stayed here for a long weekend. It was a great property. Conveniently located close to the Kingston Waterfront (less than 10 minute walk), the historic downtown Kingston (10 minute drive), and the NYS Thruway (15 minute drive). The house itself is a spacious 2BR, with a kitchen well-stocked with utensils and cookware. An elegant combination of modern and retro farmhouse style.
