The room is decorated with a cottagey mix of original watercolors by a nationally renowned artist and local thrift store treasures. At night, you can have the convenience and ambiance of our electric fireplace with thermostat and LED lights. Use the Barska Professional Spotting Scope or the binoculars to see clear across the lake.
For sleeping accommodations, there are two pocket door adjoining bedrooms (one with a queen bed and the other with two twins). This is my third time staying here and the hosts made a special last minute accomodation for me. I cannot say enough good things about the hosts, the home, the location and the peaceful surroundings!
Beautiful location on a convenient road to both Sharon and Millerton. It’s only 10 to the farmers market! Quiet and private. Very clean. Host was flexible and communicative during my stay. Sunset on the lake is beautiful. Generous access to fishing, canoe, etc. on property. Landscaping is also beautiful. Lots of care put into home and guest experience. It was such a nice place to rest & relax!
The expansive view of the lake was divine. We saw many red winged blackbirds as well as wood ducks and mallards. On night there was a dramatic electrical storm that came over the mountain and across the water, but we could watch it while feeling cozy and safe in the comfy chairs. The kitchen had all that we needed. The location was a perfect balance of rural and near town. Caught a movie at the Millerton movie house which was enlightening. An excellent escape cottage! Showers were quickly hot. Everything smelled nice.
This was the second time we stayed at the cottage and look forward to returning. The host makes you feel right at home; clean rooms, beautifully decorated, everything you need is provided down to a toy present for the pup! I highly recommend this property.
Truly enjoyed our fall hiking getaway in your cozy well appointed cottage. The location on Indian Lake is beautiful, especially taking in the glorious sunsets. The available boating options with easy access to the lake enhanced our stay. The cottage is conveniently situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The trails just across the street were an added bonus. We highly recommend this property.
This was my second trip to this property in 2 years. The hosts are super easy to work with, the house is clean and while small, has everything you need. It's a great location and the towns are quaint and enjoyable. There are some great eats around too, with something for everyone.
This was our 2nd time staying and we LOVED it just as much as before! The house is just charming… exactly as pictured. Comfy and cozy with amazing views. My husband went out every morning and evening fishing. I relaxed and enjoyed the views from both inside and out. Nice hiking trails, wineries and shops all close by.
Wonderful property, peaceful, and exactly as described. Super fast wifi. Great hosts with good communication and clear instructions. The lake activities were ideal.
This little piece of heaven was wonderful! We felt so at home and welcomed, but also felt like we were staying on distant shores! Our two dogs, Ben and Barnie, were met with new toys and settled in comfortably. Outstanding views! Watching the fog burn off in the morning was so peaceful. All the features were fantastic. We can't wait to come back. We loved every minute of life at Yellow Hook!
We enjoyed a lovely week by the lake. Our hosts made everything easy from check-in to check-out. Their lovely house is well-equipped from the complete kitchen, comfortable living spaces and all the outdoor, boating and lake accessories you may need. We enjoyed kayak rides on the quiet lake, BBQs at the picturesque picnic table and hiking at the nature preserve just across the street. Everything about the stay was wonderful!
We had a wonderful week by the lake, enjoying the beautiful view of the water. We went boating, hiking at the preserve across the street, and biking on the nearby rail trail. The cottage was very comfortable - everything was thoughtfully set up. We'd love to come back!
This cabin is ideal for a family getaway. It's in a beautiful location with a lake on one side and hiking trails on the other! The cabin is tiny and yet has everything you need. It is very comfortable and cozy. I've stayed here in the winter and the summer and it was wonderful both times. The kayaking is divine!
It was a great stay- beautiful property and would love to book again! It was really challenging to get onto the lake with the doc deflated but that’s such an easy fix! Everything else was wonderful!
Charming cottage with beautiful lake views. It’s clean and stocked with things like coffee and spices, so you don’t need to buy a lot of extra things just for a short stay. Lots of wildlife and convenient for both short and extensive walks/hikes.
