About this property
Amongst the trees, and by the Beach
This comfortable three-bedroom home is meticulously cared for. Situated on a quiet flat corner block that abuts the Sandy Point Reserve and is opposite a farm, its location enjoys maximum privacy. The beach, at Ned Neale’s Lookout, is just a short stroll away. A leisurely ten-minute walk past a children’s playground gets you to the centre of this charming coastal town with cafe, general store, tennis courts, another playground and mini golf course. The wide and shallow sandy beaches of Sandy Point, and nearby Shallow Inlet, with uninterrupted views of Wilson’s Promontory are safe for children and popular for non-motorised water sports and fishing.
The elevated house is surrounded by balconies on three sides including two large decks- to the east, and the north. Large windows and a pitched natural pine ceiling give the European-style living-dining-kitchen area a feeling of openness and space. Each window opens views of native tree canopies and occasionally a visiting Koala. A hallway leads to three bedrooms, bathroom and utility/laundry room. The fan driven combustion heater placed opposite the hallway ensures that the entire house is well heated when sunshine is insufficient for creature comfort. Continuous water supply is assured and supplemented by a bore. There is also undercover space for a car.
Fully furnished, including European appliances, unlimited NBN Broadband Internet, kitchen equipment (there are various coffee machines - plunger, coffee pods, Bialetti stove tops) and brand new mattresses and bedding, this easily maintained cosy house is ready to enjoy. Its quiet location and immaculate presentation offer a rare opportunity to relax in a home, not a rental property as such. In the spirit of this, we ask you to enjoy it while remembering that it is our much cherished beach house.
Why should you choose this holiday house? * If you care about aesthetics you will appreciate this property. * If you take care of the environment you are in and appreciate nature, you should rent this house. * If you need a soothing and quiet retreat you should rent this house. * If you are visiting from overseas you will love this house - it is clean, comfortable and the owners care deeply that you have a wonderful stay. In addition, their family has been associated with the area since the 1930s - they know it and understand it. Need an itinerary planned? No problem. Not sure where to go for dinner? We will tell you. Keen on a day walk away from other tourists but with the WOW factor? We will share some of our secrets. * If you have children you should rent this house. They will love playing in the reserve next door and cycling up and down the street.
Who shouldn’t choose this house? * This home is not appropriate for pets - we are sorry. It has no fencing whatsoever and opens on to a road. Moreover, it is adjacent to a reserve, frequented by koalas who are protected and vulnerable to dog attacks. We respectfully ask you not to bring dogs inside.
* In our experience this house is too small for two families to share comfortably. The living/dining room and kitchen are combined and relatively small. There is no second overflow living space to retreat to.
What are the owners like? We love bushwalking, reading, cycling, art and swimming. When we are at the house you’ll find us doing long walks on the beach, swimming, day walks at The Prom or cycling to Walkerville. Our children have enjoyed the area for years- from Nippers to Surf Lifeguarding. We love exploring and feel that there are never enough days to enjoy this slice of paradise.

Easy AsAnd thanks for ordering the weatherWe had a bonus baby bat in the laundry which we hopefully set free and the most gorgeous Koala in 3rd Av. Sandy Point never disappoints
Enjoyable Sandy Point residence, clean, well stocked and exactly as listed. Gives "tree house" family home vibes, it was extremely well looked after and a pleasure to stay at. The living area is small (maxed out with our group of 4 adults and 1 infant) but more than manageable as a family.Grateful for the easy communication with the hosts and included linen! Would consider staying here again.
Very clean and well organized. Kitchen well appointed, fridge large, great kitchen with clean stove AND oven, utensils/pots/crockery/etc so easy as home to prep meals. Lounge was a little small, so might not suite children under 6-7 who need to move, but good room for 5 adults/teens. Close enough to beach.
It was an amazing experience to return to a house we have loved so much in the past - we hope not to have 12 years between visits this time! Communication was excellent, house is cosy, quiet and well maintained and Sandy Point is as beautiful as ever. Bring on the next visit.

Thanks for your review Kristen! I thought I'd let you know that we may take the listing down after August because we have some maintenance to do. If you want to rent it before then, just contact me directly and we'll arrange a cheaper deal for you. Hope you are well, Alex
We had a great time on our stay , thanks to Alex and Marina for the use of their beautiful house. Check in and communication with the hosts was seamless prior to arriving, we were welcomed with a lovely letter and some treats. The house is great , cosy and clean. Brilliant location for exploring Wilson’s prom a half hour away and within walking distance to Sandy Point beach. Couldn’t recommend Alex and Marina enough, thanks again for a fabulous stay!
A positive experience from start to finish. We postponed our booking due to lockdown and Alex was very agreeable with new booking dates. The house was perfect for our family and had everything we needed. We were very impressed by how clean the house was. This was probably the cleanest house we've stayed in and we've stayed in a lot! This made a big difference to our stay. Alex was quick to reply to messages and very helpful. Thank-you Alex and Marina for a lovely stay in Sandy Point.
Very cosy and welcoming and a great place to explore the area from.
Sandy Point is very pretty and Wilson’s Promontory is spectacular. Do the boat ride from Tidal River !
