Driving up to this charming yet rustic 100 year old home is just the beginning of your romantic Fredericksburg getaway. Set in a quiet neighborhood and conveniently located only 1 ½ blocks away from Historic Main Street where all the shopping and activities await you. There are two complete suites at Bowie Cottage perfect for traveling together with friends or two couples. Although they are rented together as one, each suite has its own private front and rear entrances as well as their own private living area, bedroom, and bath providing complete privacy for each suite.

LOCATION - 1.5 blocks south of Main Street
HOSTS - Private home to yourselves
SLEEPS - Up to 4 people in 2 king suites
BATH - 2 baths; one has a walk-in shower and freestanding tub and the other one has a jetted tub with a shower
KITCHEN - 2 kitchenette areas; one kitchenette area has a Keurig, mini-fridge, and microwave while the other only has a mini-fridge and microwave– no coffeemaker
BREAKFAST - No breakfast; coffee & tea provided
AMENITIES - Flat screen TVs with Netflix, WiFi, two gas fireplaces, front porch with swing, back yard with seating and a hot tub, free off-street parking

this was our all-time favorite VRBO stay. Property was lovely. Everything we needed was in the cabin. Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. Would definitely suggest the Bowie cottage.

Bowie Cottage was just wonderful. Having two separate areas for sleeping and two separate bathrooms was a bonus. The price was so reasonable. The Cottage was very clean, except for the air vents, especially near the bed in the first section. Thank you!

July 4th in Fredericksburg

Terrific location walking distance to Main St., the place where everything happens. Easy drive to wineries and Enchanted Rock. Just a great getaway weekend and our VRBO didn't disappoint. I would definitely stay here again. No kitchen seemed odd, but we ate out (Hangar Diner, Sunset Grill, etc.) and didn't really miss it. I recommend this trip and location, highly!!

The King size beds were so comfy. We enjoyed the seating area to watch some tv and unwind after a day of shopping on Historic Main Street I wish we would have taken advantage of the Hot Tub, just didn't plan a long enough trip. Maybe next time!!!

Cute place and convenient location

It is a great little place that was well appointed and in a great location. I would recommend for sure. Just note that there is not a full kitchen so if you plan to cook it won’t be there. We opted to eat out at all the great places anyway. Can’t wait to go back.

Cute but needs a little help

The inside was clean, a little musty and the tub very dated. The outside needed a lot of love. Did not enjoy sitting out like we thought we would. Not exactly where I was thinking the location was.

Quick Trip

The property host was very responsive and helped us get a short notice reservation. The house was as expected and worked very well for us. The only issue was there wasn’t any hot water. If we had stayed more than one night that would have been a big issue. If the hot water issue is resolved we would rent this home again.

DELIGHTFUL!

My wife and I shared the cottage with our daughter and her husband who is stationed at Laughlin AFB. The Bowie Cottage was perfect for two couples. We had plenty of privacy when necessary but the separate privacy doors opened easily to provide a common area. The cottage was super clean with a nice supply of towels, paper products, coffee, etc. The streets bordering the cottage are lovely with less than a mile to the center of shopping and dining. We drove and parked nearby several times but the walk is pleasant. Very nice! Delightful! Thank you!

Bowie House

Guesthaus service as always was cordial and businesslike. No problems. The Bowie house was nice but had issues with coffee pot not working properly. The bathroom shower curtain on jet tub was dirty as was the wooden wall by the toilet. There were empty wine bottles left out by the hot tub. I mention these items only because there is a $95.00 cleaning charge for the Bowie house so we expected the area to be clean.

The cabin had probably been cleaned after the last guest. The lights were on and the air had been turned on, which was nice. The down side.. there were dead bugs on the floors and the tubs and showers also had bugs and dirt in them. I think it's ridiculous that's bed and breakfast, does not serve breakfast… which was stated in the listing and was not a surprise. I was disappointed that the only tea available was a decaf and there was no creamer in either coffee set up. The cottage is cute and well decorated quite nicely. Both showers wouldn't drain, so water backed up into the shower the whole time you are bathing. We were comfortable and the beds have nice linens. The street was really quiet and I am sure that the gas fireplaces would be wonderful in cooler weather. We did not try the hot tub, but that would be nice, too.
