Fun place to stay

Saphire Beach get a way

Condo was very spacious. Kitchen and bathroom upgrades were nice, but the condo seemed a bit old and worn. There were broken outlet covers, dishwasher detergent was in a plastic bin with a wilted box and loose detergent. There were no extra blankets The beach and pool were very nice and accommodating.

Beautiful view & excellent location

The villa has amazing views from both balconies! It is steps away from a beautiful beach and good snorkeling. The resort amenities (beach chairs, restrooms, onsite bar/restaurant, pool) are nice. Alexander's communication was prompt & helpful. We would absolutely return!

Great two-level condo on beach

lovely condo directly on the beach, beautiful pool and views, spacious and well stocked, close to food stores and restaurants. Always plenty of space on beach or at pool, possibly because of the lack of cruise ships. Be aware that mosquitos rule the island and the no-see-ums rule the beach so bring repellant.

Amazing!

We had a wonderful time here. We traveled with a 10 and 6 year old. The property is right on the beach. We put chairs out each morning and went back and forth all day. The balcony views are amazing! Will definitely go back!

Very nice appartment

The description and photos tell all. This is a very nice property, in excellent condition. Confortable beds and beddings, nice quality towels and bath supply, 4 beach towels provided were a nice touch. The 2 levels makes it very practical for families (when for e.g. a child wakes up before the others, or daddy wants to read a book before going to bed ;). The beach and the view are very nice, snorkeling is amazing on the right side of the condo.

Gorgeous & Convenient!

Alexander was amazing at answering all of my questions. This was our first time to St. Thomas, and I really feel like he went above just being a property manager with answering my questions regarding taxis and transportation! The property is BEAUTIFUL and easily slept the four of us. Additionally it was super convenient! There was out front beach access with access to a coffee/breakfast/ice cream shop, and two beach bars with food within walking distance. There’s also a taco stop nearby, so finding a taco was always easy. Plus it was a quick ride to Red Hook where a good bit of the restaurants were. I highly recommend staying here, and I definitely will be again!

Perfect Vacation Villa

Beautiful spacious two story villa with the most amazing view. Two balconies overlooking St. John and gorgeous blue waters. Well decorated and perfectly located. The cleaners did an excellent job prior to my arrival. The resort has an incredible bar with excellent drinks, friendly bartenders, and very good food. There is a beautiful gift shop where I purchased wonderful souvenirs, and also a coffee shop with delicious coffee that offers breakfast and ice cream. There is a fancy (expensive) restaurant that is only open for dinner and weekend brunch. Snorkeling at the resort is wonderful. The beach is beautiful. The town of Red Hook is only about a mile away with additional restaurnats and a grocery store. The ferry to St. John is also located in Red Hook and is cheap (only $6 each way) and fast (20 minutes). Can't wait to return here with my family to enjoy St. Thomas and St. John again.

Simply beautiful and perfect

Our host was great and made sure we had what we needed. They provided extra towels midway through the week and a light cleaning. I’m a bit of a neat freak so we didn’t need much, but we did appreciate the supplies. The condo was just as pictured and everything was clean. The host had the sofa bed made for us so my son could sleep downstairs. The bathrooms were spacious and had hairdryers, soap and shampoo. The kitchen had just what we needed for me to cook a few small things for my husband because he’s on a strict diet for an illness. The location is absolutely perfect so close to Red Hook with a great grocery store and restaurants. But the best part, the view! Omg to wake up to the most beautiful sunrises every morning was amazing! I pray that my family will be back and I would highly recommend this villa. Thank you for an amazing trip that we desperately needed after a tough year.

What a gem with an amazing view and beautiful beach and sea

Wow, we were so pleased that we picked this property. This unit has one of the best views. Bed and bedding is super comfortable. Unit had soap, shampoo, Conditioner, toilet paper, dish soap and plenty of towels. We slept with the bedroom slider open every night listening to the calm ocean lapping on the beach. The location is perfect a few minuets from Redhooks Amazing restaurants, shopping and the ferry to Saint John. There is a marina a few minuets walk from this unit and we rented Boats on 2 different days. We spent a few days traveling around to all the beaches on the island and decided Sapphire beach is one of the nicest. We Never had a problem getting chairs on the beach or a spot at the beautiful pool. The on-site bar,coffee shop and restaurant are nice to have on site and reasonably priced.. We can’t wait to return to this unit in the near future, such a great trip. Thank you for sharing your very special place with us!

Great location!

Pros: Location is amazing. We have been staying at Sapphire for the past 4 years due to the location. Loved that this unit was in building B (our favorite). Had 2 full bathrooms which were clean and updated. Loved having a unit with 2 floors for extra space. Dishwasher in unit which is a bonus. Cons: Specifically booked this unit because it had a king size bed and 2 pull out sofas. My 13 yr old daughter and 11 yr old son could each have their own sofa bed. Unfortunately, upon check in, I noticed the second sofa didn’t have bedding. When I opened the sofa bed, I noticed a very large stain (blood?) and the mattress was extremely wet (from attempted clean up?). Messaged the host who informed me where I could find extra bedding and arranged for the cleaning company to make the bed. Due to the wetness and stain, I made the decision to not let my kids sleep there and they ended up sharing a bed. The cleaning ladies did come the next day and attempt to clean the mattress, but it had to be removed because it was so badly stained by previous guests. Was very disappointed since we paid extra to have more sleeping room. Tips: No cooler to take to beach. Recommend bringing your own. Beach towels are provided, but they are thin. Recommend bringing your own if you want a thicker beach towel. Open the patio doors and front door to get a nice cross breeze. We didn’t need to use AC. Would stay in this unit again if both sofa beds were available.

Awesome get away during strange times.

After being in St. Thomas in March of 2020 when things got real weird with Covid, we decided to go back now that things are getting better since we wouldn't have to get a Covid test to come back home. While we were there in 2020 we stopped by Sapphire Beach 3-4 times and loved it, so we knew the location was perfect. And the location of this condo couldn't have been more perfect. The pictures don't really do the views and colors justice. While no fault of the listing at all, the pics on here do make it seem a bit larger than it is, but that doesn't mean it is small or anything. The location of building B is the best one in my opinion. A is closer to the bar area so you get a bit more noise, and E is too far away near the pool that didn't have nearly as nice of a beach and it seemed to be more windy over there. It was myself and my wife, then our 6 year old and our 9 month old. Both of our children also had a blast. One of my 6 year olds favorite things was making a sand sculpture just down on the beach there with this lady and her little cart. We ended up all sleeping up on the upstairs room, our little one in a pack and play, us in the bed, and our son in the pullout couch. One thing to note is that sound travels up the stairs quite a bit and there aren't any doors separating the upstairs and downstairs. As mentioned, the location cannot be beat. You are literally less than 5 minutes from pretty much everything you would need in Redhook and a few minutes to other beaches and restaurants. We did rent a car and drove all over, including to St. John, but nothing was far from where we were. The farthest was probably Maegan's Bay which was like a 20 minute drive away. I was surprised to see how hopping the island was during this time considering there are no cruisers. When I was in St. Thomas prior, the cruisers crowding areas and being obnoxious was the only negative I would really say at all about the island. But this time we didn't have to worry about them at all, but it was still more crowded than expected. If you stay here you're just a short drive away from Coki Beach as well, which is a super fun more local beach to check out. They also have shore diving which was super convenient for me to only have to leave my wife with both kids by herself for a short dive then I was immediately back out with them. Don't hesitate to rent this place, it was fantastic!

Nice Condo but too dirty!

I'm writing this review hoping that the owner Alex will hear what I'm saying and correct the following issues. We arrived at the Condo to find a dead cockroach which wasn't a big deal since it the islands. And then we found mice dropping in both bathrooms again not a big deal. I asked owner if there were some cleaning supplies so I could clean up. No paper towels or napkins supplied. He stated he would send Kathleen (cleaning person) the next day but she didn't come. I told him I would grab cleaning supplies at the store which was not a big deal. I also noticed that the upstairs hair dyer had electrical tape holding the wires together. I again told him if I was out I would purchase one if I found one. So up until then things were going fairly fine........ Then I noticed the Brita Filter was black and moldy. Ceiling fans couldn't be used because they were covered in dust. Dead bugs in the ceiling lights. Dust on the sides of the upstairs pull out couch which was not make up. Upstairs TV didn't work. No Dishwasher Soap. Outside table and chairs dirty and black dirt on glass table. Blender is cracked and leaks liquids out. Mold on the shower curtain. Come to find out this property has sat vacant for 2 months and had not been rented. The cleaning lady didn't touch it for 2 months if not more. Communication with the owner (no property manager) was hit and miss. When I offered to get stuff he returned my texts and calls. When I complained about the Condo he didn't get back to me in a timely manner. The pull out couches are the worst beds in the world to sleep on, they have holes in the middle. The king size bed is very comfortable thankfully! I would never rent this condo again or from this owner again. We paid him full price even during this pandemic where the vacancy factor is 90%. This Condo needs a really good cleaning. Yes it's updated and roomy but it's too dirty. I have asked for a full refund of the cleaning deposit back and he has only offered to refund me 1/2. Very disappointing.

Perfect location with a great view!

This place was perfect. It was nice because it had two levels so as our kids went to sleep a little earlier, the adults could hang out downstairs. It was very clean and close to everything and right on the beach. You can snorkel right off the beach and see lots of fish. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband, son and I stayed here for a week in May. It was exactly as advertised! The views are breathtaking from each balcony! We really liked being at Sapphire Beach Resort as it offered food and drink options within walking distance. Super close to the marina for renting a jet ski or a boat ride. The complex pool was a little rundown and the ever present iguana’s were a little alarming in the pool. Overall, great stay!

Needs some TLC

The host was very responsive to the listing and concerns upon arrival. This place needs some maintenance. And a deep clean. The A/C vent in the downstairs had black mold. The mold was on the surrounding wall surface. It was obvious that someone tried to paint over the mold in sections. Not healthy for people with asthma or respiratory disease.The vent in the downstairs bathroom was filthy. I got up and dug out thick fuzz. So disgusting.This is beyond the housekeeping duty. Please deep clean this place before someone gets sick.On the bright side, it is a great location. The staff are really great at the resort.

Nice location, poor electricity

I'll start with the good: the location is fantastic. It is literally beach-front and you walk out your door onto the beach which is lovely. The water is warm and blue and there's good snorkeling right from the beach. The beds were comfy and the inside overall was nice.The problem, and it was a big one, is that the power was out in the resort for 8 hours one day and several hours other days and the resort doesn't have backup generators. While in general this isn't a huge problem if you're not inside, it is a problem if you want to take a shower with hot water or sleep with air conditioning. I messaged the host who assured me that power would be back soon but that night the power did not come back on until after midnight. It was so uncomfortable that we considered booking a hotel elsewhere that night so we could sleep with air conditioning. Unfortunately, until they figure their electricity situation out, I would not stay here again.

Born to love the ocean and beaches but have to work in the Washington D.C. area, we enjoy hosting guests in our vacation home in St. Thomas. Speaking with guests and helping them plan their vacation bring me closer to this little paradise.

Why they chose this property

Once you get there, you will see that this is just a spectacularly beautiful place on earth. Palm trees cast shade onto the white sandy beach. The bay has two coral reefs and crystal clear, turquoise water. It is all framed in by several islands including famous St. John National Park. You get to enjoy all this from the condo with two balconies directly on the Sapphire Beach facing the Caribbean Sea. The condo has plenty of space to accommodate the entire family, and you have everything to make you feel comfortable. The condo has been remodeled.

What makes this property unique

You can not be any closer to the beautiful ocean and beach than in this condo. We love the exposed wood of the cathedral ceiling which makes this a very elegant home.
In our opinion, the condo is on one of the nicest beaches on the island, and yet you are less than a mile from Red Hook with all the restaurants, bars, coffee shops, shopping and ferries to other islands. Red Hook and our Sapphire Beach Marina are great jump off points for sailing adventures and other boating excursions.
