Love this nice, clean property. It was very convenient to where we wanted to visit, Mt. Princeton Hot springs. We do plan on staying at this property again.

We had a wonderful family stay at this property during spring break. Monarch Ski Area is just a 35-minute drive away, and Mt. Princeton Hot Springs is even closer. The property was in excellent condition, just as advertised, and everything worked as expected.
Great property. Central to a lot of fishing locations. Great layout, clean! Lots of amenities.

Great area
Our stay was decent. There was an issue I wanted to discuss with management but I did not receive a response to my email.

The home was beautiful and very quiet with wildlife in the nackyard and great views. We woke up to herds of deer. The clouds were floating over the peaks. The back yard was super peaceful and beautifully setup.

We had a great mom’s trip with 14 year olds. It was fantastic. Super clean.
Nice house but they have a bad mouse problem. Mice traps all over the house and smells of dead mice. I was told that is normal living on the prairie. I too live in the country but I don’t have those problems. Ended up with 5 mice in our Jeep while we were there.

Thank you for allowing us the time, relaxation & breathtaking views during our recent stay at your home. While secluded & quiet, the home is located perfectly for skiing, excursion planning & Salida small town feel/restaurants. And, travel to/from Co Springs airport is scenic & quick. Should we be back, I’ll definitely book with your home.

Loved our stay at this property
The house is in a convenient location for Buena Vista, Mt Princeton Hot Springs, Salida, and Cottonwood Pass. We loved the absolute quiet here. A herd of antelope came through as we were having coffee on the front porch one morning. The temps were in the mid to high 80s while we were there and the house was a very comfortable temp inside day and night despite having no AC. The dining room and living room furniture and bed in the main bedroom were very comfortable and the kitchen had all of the cooking necessities. This place was great and we'd love to stay again.

It was well stocked with paper goods and cleaning supplies. We appreciated the dog dish. However, the home was dirty. The first day we arrived, we left to have dinner in Salida. It was late when we got back. I pulled down the bed and found dirty sheets and they smelled. So, at 10:00 PM after traveling for 10 hours I had to wash the sheets. When I pulled the sheets off the bed animal hair flew everywhere. While the sheets were washing, I got some cleaning spray and cleaned the bed and nightstand from animal hair. Also, the dining room table was covered with animal hair.
5 star property below 5 star peaks! Our first family foray in over a year. A perfect escape from the city. 5 minutes from Princeton Hot Springs and 15 minutes to Mt Princeton and Mt Antero (both 14ers) access. We can’t forget St Elmo ghost town just up the road, National Forest everywhere you look, and of course the picturesque old town of Buena Vista just 20 minutes away. An isolated retreat with modern convenience at your finger tips. Ray, the proprietor, anticipated our needs and immediately helped us feel right at home. HIGHLY recommend this property. A true ColoRADo experience! ;)

Most definitely will be back!
This house & location was perfect for our vacation needs and wants! The house had all of the amenities and comforts of home and the perks of watching the sunrise and set on the mountains. There are no lights around so stargazing was literally out of this world, the Milky Way was visible and more stars than you can count. There are tons of hiking trails nearby and the hot springs is super close for relaxing at the end of the day. We've got to go back when it's warmer to enjoy playing outside when it's lighter longer and when we can get out on the river and to enjoy the backyard firepit. was just a little too chilly this visit. I've already recommended it to several friends - too good to keep to myself!
The layout of this home was perfect for our stay with another couple. We had two trucks with motorcycle trailers and there was plenty of room to back them side-by-side up the driveway.
The beds were very comfortable. We made most of our meals during our stay; there were plenty of dishes and the basic utensils and cookware for preparation. It was nice to have the use of a grill, but we felt the need to clean it before using it. If you need specific utensils (for instance, a zester), you may want to bring them. The yard is small but fenced so was nice for small pups. The views from both decks were spectacular. There were some items that we brought to the attention of the property manager who said they would be addressed. They did not detract from our time there; we enjoyed our stay.

Great house but lacking in cleanliness
This house doesn’t have an air conditioner so if renting in the hot summer months it’s difficult to get it cooled down enough at night. And most of the screens are torn up so there were only a few windows we could open without getting bugs in. The house is adorable, the layout and location are great but the cleanliness was disappointing upon entry especially when we pay a cleaning fee. The floors hadn’t been swept so walking around barefoot you could feel the gritty sand, there was a dead mouse on the kitchen floor, a strong animal smell and the bed sheets had pet hair everywhere when we pulled the covers back. If the screens weren’t full of holes and the house was clean this would be a perfect place! But we won’t be back
Great location but overall experience wasn't the best.
The location of this house is great. We have stayed in this area for the past 4 summers so we are very familiar with the town.
When we arrived we noticed a fishy smell coming from the kitchen sink. Maybe someone was cooking fish recently? There was hairs in the shower, and a left over washrag as well. These things led to a feeling of neglect from a cleanliness standpoint. It's not the end of the world but it's not great when you're paying for a service.
Our biggest complaint (this has nothing to do with the owner or management) the house was so HOT because of a heatwave that the house would not cool down past 79 degrees as night. The owner provided multiple fans but that still didn't do much good. We got only a few hours of sleep, sweating in bed and tossing around all night.
Again, this was not the owners fault but just be aware if you are renting in the summer months that this could happen to you as well.
We had to rent a hotel for the reminder of our time because it was just too unbearable. We asked for a discount or a pro-rated refund but the owner ghosted us on our request. I get it...it's business I guess just buyer beware.
Over all the location was very nice, the house could have used better cleaning and don't rent if it's going to be very hot out.

Hero, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you.
- We take cleanliness very seriously and ensure that everything is clean and meets our standards. We texted during the time you were at the property and you never once mentioned anything being dirty. If you had we would have done what we could for you.
- Like most of the country, we have had an incredibly hot season, hotter than normal. We do not provide AC because it just wouldn't be feasible in our area. We did make a few suggestions on how to keep it cool during the day and into the night. We're sorry that you decided to leave and this didn't work out for you.
We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests. We strive for those 5-star reviews that we know we can deliver.
