Perfect little house located right in the middle of downtown Damascus. Walking distance to everything. House has everything you need and plenty of space. No complaints and would book again next time I find myself in Damascus.
We stayed for a weekend getaway with my husband's siblings. House was perfect. Right downtown so we were able to park the car and walk everywhere around town. Host was great to work with and we would definitely stay here again.
We enjoy our stay at this property bc of location and access to the creeper bike trail. It is locationed across from postal service convenience for the hikers !
Friendliest feeling home in the "friendliest town on the AT". Lovely to walk all over town, and beyond, and always be greeted with smiling faces and hellos. Grayson Highlands is always a destination for us and didn't disappoint. So happy the VA Creeper is on its way to recovery! This is a prime location if you love walking the streets of Damascus, visiting the duck pond, or getting out on the Creeper Trail to walk or bike. Concrete parking pads for 2 vehicles is nice and right at the house.Porch sitting and porch swinging is highly recommended! It's super clean and well decorated for form and function. Host is super communicative and helpful. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Two minor suggestions: 1) Add at least 1 TV in one of the bedrooms. 2) Add a rack, hook, or stool, or bench or chair in a couple of places for towels, clothes, putting on shoes, etc. Overall, we loved the Trout House and would definitely rent it again.
The house is wonderful... clean and beautifully decorated. Bedrooms cozy. Beds ultra comfortable. Great for families and groups.

Great location
This house is in the center of everything in Damascus. I highly recommend it for staying with children. You can walk to everything downtown and the creeper trail is blocks away.
We enjoyed the location being close to the middle of town. The house was very welcoming and comfy, we spent a lot of time reading on the couch and playing games at the large table. We also liked the chess table a lot!
We stayed at this property while we were in town for the NASCAR race. It was perfect for three couples. Restaurants, coffee, bars are all within walking distances. The house was clean and well kept, and super cute! We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to the NASCAR race. The town is in our thoughts and prayers!
Wonderful time with friends. This place had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The Appalachian Trail and Creeper Trail within walking distance. Don't miss the Appalachian Distillery..a fantastic place for drinks and the Damascus Diner which had a great meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
We found the house clean and a good location for riding VA creeper trail. No parking on the property only street parking. Short walk to restaurants and creeper trail shuttle. We would stay again.
Property was perfect for our weekend trip to bike the Virginia Creeper trail. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook all of our meals and grocery store was a very short drive down the road. We biked just a few minutes from the house to the shuttle service that took us to the Whitetop end of the trail. This house was very clean and comfortable and full of charm. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
