Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great experience renting this condo. Everything went well. Any issues (very minor) that we had were dealt with promptly and we had great communication with the manager. The view is fabulous, the condo was clean and had everything we needed. We saw whales from the lanai, and a turtle resting on the sand in front of the property. We have been to Maui many times and stayed in this complex many times and this condo was one of the best! Kahuale Makai is not as far south in Kihei as some people like but we always stay in this area because it is central and easy to drive to all parts of the island. We stayed in March and did not need the AC once. The breeze was enough to keep everything a perfect temperature. In March, this unit does not get direct sun which helps to keep it nice a cool during the day. We would stay here again without hesitation.

We had some issues but overall okay

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The day we got there the door was broken, locking us out of the unit. After getting in we realized the doorframe was broken/cracked and the hardware was loose. This causing the door to jam even though it was unlocked. The bedding was dirty(like crusty food or something dried on the comforter. We ended up having to wash everything before using it the first night. Lastly, the air conditioning was off in the unit when we arrived and it had rained the days before our arrival. All of the furniture was damp and felt wet from moisture to sit on it. This did resolved after the air was running for a day or so. The location was okay, but not really within walking distance to anything. parking was easy. For what we paid, we should not have had all of the issues we did.

The condo was as advertised. The location is lovely and the view is wonderful. We sat on the balcony at every opportunity. Would definitely recommend a stay!

Great place!

Great rental with beautiful views. Great location! We did have an issue with the internet connection on the tv in the living room on the last night of our stay. But it didn't really matter because the other tv in the bedroom worked. Definitely recommend this place. When we visit Maui again, we would love to stay here again!!

Beauty with baggage!!

This property is very cute with great decor inside. The views are amazing with easy access to the beach. There’s been some upgrades which are nice; however, it needs a little bit more TLC like a new bed, a new couch, a new chair, a new area rug, and some nicer seats out on the lanai. The closets were stuffed full of cleaning equipment, ladders, brooms and beach toys! This needs to be stored somewhere else you so you have room for your clothes. It was a pleasant surprise to see beach chairs, a cooler, and an umbrella; however, the umbrella was not in great condition so as a thank you, we bought a new umbrella that future guests can enjoy. Hopefully, these suggestions will be put into place as we’d love to stay again for a month right here but have been looking at other units that are more updated. Aloha !

Great location

The property was very nice, clean and great location. The unit we rented was nice but dated. The couch was very uncomfortable to sit on. The mattress in the bedroom was moderate. Kitchen and dining area was very nice. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Would rent there again but probably a different unit unless they upgrated their furnishings

Guest Review Kauhale Makai

While our 3 week stay at this property was generally comfortable, we found that the suite needs attention. The overall condition of the suite is best described as “tired”. Some upgrades appear to have been completed in the past, but cabinets look to be original, appliances are newer, but low quality (no ice maker), bathtub did not drain properly, one towel bar fell off the wall, coax cable for bedroom TV runs along the floor in front of the lanai door, presenting a tripping hazard, towels were clean, but bleach stained, bed quilt was old, etc. The overall property is nice and well maintained, with the exception of the common area barbecues. There are five barbecues. One was out of service and of the remaining four, only one worked well - very frustrating for often used appliances.

This is a great rental in south Kihei with the ocean and mountain view.

The property matched the description in the listing. The reclining bed in the living room has a dent in the middle that made it difficult to be used. Cannot count in rhe recliner for adults or young adults as an extra bed.

2nd time staying at this property. It has the best views! Easy access beach with beautiful sunsets

Comfortable and relaxing. Nice kitchen with everything you need to make meals. The patio had comfortable furniture and beautiful views.

Nice short vacation on the water

Nice location and facilities. Short walk to the sea. Nice swimming and sunsets. A little easier if had swimming shoes as the chunks of coral in the water can be a little sharp on tenderfoots.

Not Worth The Price

The location was great but the unit was not well cleaned. There was a lot of dust on the surfaces, vents and corners. The rug in the living room should be thrown out. It did not look like it had been cleaned ever. The patio screen door was not sturdy. This unit could stand to have a better cleaner and a few upgrades. We left a day early because the bed was one of the most uncomfortable beds we have ever slept in. Leaving our vacation a day early in paradise due to the rental speaks volumes. Not good ones.
