Review prior to VRBO listing: "We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful place to have our first experience of Canadian cottage life. An easy drive from Gravenhurst and perfectly situated to enjoy the most amazing golden hours from many vantage points. The great room has huge proportions and the screened in eating porch makes entertaining with a large group effortless. Great property for exploring and easy swimming with a private beach and swim dock. Kathleen is an excellent host with everything (and more!) that you could need being provided. Would not hesitate to recommend." ~ Sarah V., Sydney, Australia

We had an amazing time at this cottage. Kathleen is a very responsive owner and the cottage was well equipped with everything we could have needed. We absolutely loved our time there! The views are amazing and the lake is very calm and quiet. We had a wide variety of ages from toddlers to grandparents and all had a great time!
Fabulous property and location in the middle of the woods with easy access to a beautiful lake. The house had everything we needed and we truly enjoyed our stay.
Incredible cottage in a beautiful location. We had three families (six adults and six young kid), and there was more than enough space for everyone. It's private and secluded, on a quiet part of the lake, but still a very short drive into town. The cottage itself has everything you could need, and Kathleen was a great, responsive host. The waterfront area is also great, with a perfect shallow, sandy beach for the kids to play in. We would definitely go back!

This place is unbelievably impressive. Minutes from Gravenhurst but still years away. The pictures don’t do it justice. Amazing cottage getaway for a large family or multiple families. Stocked with everything you can think of and even things you didn’t think of. Highly recommend.
The huge property makes this cottage very private and quiet. The view is amazing, and the lake is wonderful. We got a lot of use out of the watercraft. Cycling, golf and climbing nearby was so much fun. The cottage is very large and well equipped, but the pine floors give it a cottage feel rather than feeling like a house in the city. The screened in dining area is terrific and there was lots of room to spread out for those that had some work to do during the week. Our adult children and their spouses declared this the best cottage ever.
A very tidy and lovely cottage equipped with everything we needed for our stay! We had a group of 14 adults and one toddler and we had more than enough space to be comfortable. This family cottage had thought of everything, some kids toys, gates at the top of the stairs, pocket doors for additional soundproofing and even step stools to help the little one reach the bathroom sinks. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Everyone who stayed with us said the bedrooms were all clean and comfortable.
Great views and pretty much on the water if you are able to do the hike on the stairs.
Kathleen is a great host and very responsive when needed. Very good and detailed in answering any questions before and during our stay.
Some of our group's highlights. Sunroom/screened in porch was awesome for afternoon board games. Floating docks are always fun. The paddleboards provided gave some adventure to those that wanted it. Lots of space: rooms, deck, and beach to spread out and get some reading done too. We really enjoyed our time there.

About the host
Hosted by Kathleen C.
We're a family who lives in Toronto and escapes to our cottage haven as often as we can. With 2 busy young adults, our trips became less frequent than we'd like. We love our cottage so much, we think that if we can't be there, someone else should enjoy it.
Why they chose this property
It's an ideal property for getting your family or friends together. My husband and I lived in our bunkie/swim cabin by the lake for 6 years before we built our dream cottage. It's got some of our favourite features in a cottage -- lots of beds and bedrooms so we can always be surrounded by family and friends, a big Muskoka (indoor/outdoor) room for eating and gaming without annoying bugs, a large open great room so we are all together in the living space, a kid-friendly basement for keeping kids entertained when you're not at the lake (and there's a giant rock in the basement!), a reading nook for anyone needing to escape the commotion, "privacy" doors to minimize living area noise for sleepers, a separate wing for the master bedroom/bathroom/deck, and so many possibilities for outdoor fun.
What makes this property unique
Cottage is up on a cliff so it is very private. Spectacular sunset views. We love dogs and they love our cottage. Even the treefort will impress you!
