Though the living quarters are cramped , they are clean, warm and cozy with everything you need . Great place for a small family to hunker down . They would benefit from a lager sofa or an easy chair to make living are more comfortable and invest in a sturdier kitchen table .
We had a wonderful stay at the cozy Kilburn cottage, originally a sheep barn turned into workers housing in the 40s.
We are very familiar with this beautiful area so knew where we were going and the setting. The attached ‘cottage’ at the Inns rear wing is charming and was just what we needed for visiting family nearby. It had all we needed for the 3 adults staying over and a family visitor for dinner.
Loved the farm kittens and the views. The nature trail wasn’t open at the time of our visit as the cows were using that area but that was fine with us we walked around the farm then hiked on nearby trails, a short drive, and longer drive away.
First evening there we enjoyed the take out bbq plates we got from Alyson’s Orchard across the road and up the hill at the new Orchard Tavern. We have also enjoyed meals at the Hungry Diner, a little drive away in North Walpole that is operated by the same farm and family!
We definitely will be back.

About the host
Hosted by Caitlin & Chris
Chris and Caitlin are both locals and Chris grew up just across the road from the property. His parents purchased the 100-acre farm in 1998 and renovated the buildings and opened the cottages and B&B in 1999. We love hosting because we enjoy meeting people from all over the world and sharing our pasture-based farm and the food that we raise.
Why they chose this property
Our property is one of a kind and truly gorgeous. From the rolling hills to the 400-acre apple orchard next door, our little valley is the perfect place to relax and unwind in the tranquility of nature. Fall asleep to the sound of peepers in the farm pond and wake to the distant crows of a rooster...a true country escape. We love to take walks in the orchard, go sledding in the pastures in winter, and enjoy a backyard fire with a glass of good wine.
What makes this property unique
There are few properties like ours and for over twenty years we've welcomed the same families year after year, it's an unforgettable place.
