We had a wonderful time. Spent time at the beach, fishing, hiking, shopping, eating! The rental allowed us ample space for our extended family (10 adults 1 child)and we had everything we needed for meal preps including a gas grill. We loved sitting around the fire ring. The little local grocery has everything you need in a pinch. We were close to so many activities and really enjoyed the pictures rocks boat tour.

Great location for riding, right on the trail. Restaurants nearby.
House was very clean and had everything needed for 8 people on a snowmobile trip! The two-stall garage was a bonus for storing our sleds overnight. Very happy with our stay. Would definitely stay again
Not much snow this year but great place right on the trail.

We come up north every year for a snowmobile trip. This year we had a group of 18 guys. Ages 24 to 64. There was more than enough room for all of us, and the included amenities were exactly what we were looking for. More than enough parking for three large trucks and trailers

Wow!!!! From the second we walked in to the second we left we enjoyed every minute. The younger adults ran around claiming their room for our stay. The adults all had 1st floor rooms. Extremely clean. So much space to all sit in different areas. Us ladies read our books on the front porch and the 3 season porch. The beach is beautiful. A little further than we thought along with crossing the highway was a tad of a bummer but still worth it. The cute little coffee, pizza, ice cream store is very nice. Highly recommend. * add to note we were a last minute book as to our surprise our original abb overbooked us. It was a blessing in disguise as this house was much bigger and beautiful inside.

Even though there was not snow to x-country ski or snowshoe, we enjoyed being outdoors going the the Eben Ice Caves and Pictured Rocks Ice Cave. The house was large enough for our group to eat together and hang out in the living room or game room.

The property was just what was advertised. We loved the proximity to the beach & trail. Only thing missing was A/C or at least fans in every room. House was hot which made it tough to sleep.

Thank you for your feedback. There are 2 AC units in the home, one upstairs and one downstairs, both work very well. There are ceiling fans in all upstairs bedrooms, with pull cords, which allows them to be left on at night, when the lights go off. There is a large ceiling fan in the living room for circulation and box fans if needed. If windows are kept closed, it stays nice and cool in the house. Also, there are screens in all bedroom windows. It typically cools down nicely at night, so if the AC units are turned off, windows can be opened. Again, thank you for your recommendations.
THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME SINCE MY MOM'S PASSING THAT HER 5 ADULT CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES WERE ABLE TO GET TOGETHER TO HAVE A CELEBRATION OF HER LIFE. THE HOUSE WAS VERY ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE OUR GROUP VERY COMFORTABLY. THE LINEN WAS CLEAN, THE HOME LOVELY AND THE KITCHEN WAS WELL STOCKED FOR COOKING. WE WERE NOT INTERRUPTED BY NEIGHBORS OR OWNERS. OVERALL IT WAS A PLEASANT PLACE AND WE ENJOYED OUR STAY. SOMETIMES ONE HEARS HORRIBLE STORIES ABOUT RENTAL PLACES, BUT THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Rose, we're glad that the cottage worked out well for your family gathering. Thank you for taking the time to write this review, and we hope to work with you again.
This property is in a great location!! It's an easy walk to the beach, convenience store, and ice cream & pastie shop. The property is large enough to support common gathering and eating. There is also a bonus room upstairs if you feel the need to get away. Everyone had a space to call their own and felt comfortable.
If you go in the summer, take fans. There are 2 window AC units but fans were nice for sleeping. I did alert the property manager of some missing and damaged screens. They assured me those would be addressed for future guests' comfort. If I return to the area, I would rent this property again.
Responses to my communication attempts through the VRBO messaging system were limited, but when I called the property manager directly, she was always professional and helpful.

As we pulled up to the home after a long drive we could not believe it. All 12 of us were in awe. The pictures do not do this Lodge justice. We got out and headed in, and the only thing I could say was wow. It was so nice and warm, clean and felt like our own home. The kids ranging in age of 9 yrs old to 22 years old ran through claiming beds, rooms, and where they were chilling at in the AWESOME game room. The 4 adults gelt at peace knowing that there was space and fun for each person with this home. It was crazy what this little trip staying in this home did. Not one time did anyone bicker lol we laughed and hiked the Munising Ice Curtain and Eben Ice Cave. We ate From the local pizza shop (excellent by the way) and had board game night by the fire. We have Already spoke of making this
our anual trip! 10 out of 10 highly recommend!!

Melanie, we love getting 10 out of 10! Thank you for that. We're so glad that the Lodge worked out so well for you. We appreciate your recommendation and hope that you do make it an annual event.
Great place. Clean, well-decorated, nicely laid out, tons of space, wonderful location close to some great things in Au Train (kayaking the Au Train river was the highlight of the trip for us) and close to Pictured Rocks. Perfect! The only reason I didn't give this place a 5* is because they don't supply towels. With most of the family coming in from Texas and New Mexico, it was a pain to pack bath and hand towels and wash cloths for 12 people. And then when we left, the folks who showered in the morning had wet towels to deal with. If you're driving in from Michigan, this is likely not a big deal.... Other than that, my, this place is AWESOME and I would come back to it.
Oh, one more thing... at night, walk out of the house, and look up! I saw as many stars, shooting stars, and the milky way galaxy as I did in Bryce Canyon National park. That's saying something!

Disliked: Cleanliness
Very nice location and spacious house, but needs better cleaning
Jason came over promptly for a small problem we were having and was very polite and kind. The game room upstairs was cool too!
The house could have been better cleaned. Mold in the full bathrooms on the walls and very dirty shower curtains. The upstairs bathroom had a big mold stop and you are just looking at it the entire time you're showing and the shower is tinny too. At the time of this review there are no pictures of the inside of the showers on the vrbo site and that should have been an indicator that something was not right. The pots were dirty in kitchen under the cabinet.
This is from my friends:
Rips in leather couch was covered up.
Refrigerator was dirty and had to be cleaned.
Lights not working in kitchen.
Light fixture in upstairs bathroom falling out of ceiling.
Mold on shower curtains and in shower area.
There was no instructions for cleaning up in the listing and we payed a lot in cleaning fees. So we took out the trash loaded up the dish washer and left promptly.
If these things are addressed then this will be a top notch place enjoy while staying in the UP.

Thank you for your review and bringing these issues to our attention. The moldy area in the upstairs shower has been repaired. A leak was found behind the drywall, which was the cause of the mold, and the moldy drywall has been cut out and replaced. The shower curtains have been replaced, as the water in this area has alot of tannins and iron, which caused the discolorization on the shower curtains (it w a set mold, but not great to have in the shower either). The pots and pans have been cleaned in the kitchen.
Thank you so much! We’re so glad you enjoyed the location right on the trail ,it really is a special spot! You were great guests and we’d be happy to host you again anytime! -Van , FVR
