Have stayed at this wonderful property twice now to go snowmobiling—it is spacious, clean, easy to get to in the snow and has direct access to Porter Lake and surrounding trails. Kitchen has everything you need for cooking. Hope to rent again in the future!
This VRBO is as exactly as advertised, maybe even better. We felt so comfortable, and the house was so cozy. The amenities are excellent and are house is perfect for rest and relaxation in scenic Maine along Porter Lake.
We visited from Virginia and this property was amazing! The house is super clean, has all of the necessities provided, and offers the perfect escape from the craziness of life. We loved the walking trail that leads to the water. My husband was able to fish from here. Definitely recommend this house!
The house was amazing, fully stocked with everything you need, even had fun board games. Laundry was a plus and beds were very comfortable. We highly recommend!
Looked exactly like the photos, was truly a cabin-resort like experience with beautiful views and all the amenities you could need. Super peaceful and my family is already talking about returning again!
The home is new and beautiful. Plenty of linens for everyone. We skied sugarloaf one day, and saddleback the next day. The house was centrally located perfectly for this.
We loved our stay, constant loon calls from the lake really made it. Close to the lake's public beach where we spent a lot of time.
The cabin has a really nice kitchen wjere we cooked most our meals, and we especially loved the screened-in porch for a bug-free outdoor experience. We found plenty of towels and the necessary linens, and the whole process was very easy. Host gave us great recommendations for local hikes and swimming. Thank you for a great time in Maine!
The house was very neat and clean. We stayed during one of the coldest nights in a decade. There were no drafts and it was cozy warm. This property had everything for a great ice fishing weekend!
Will be returning again.
What a beautiful home!!! The house was very clean, in immaculate condition, and well-appointed - everything you would need for a comfortable getaway. The screened-in porch was a favorite spot for early breakfasts and evening games. The views of the lake from the house are mesmerizing. A wonderful, highly recommended place to slip away from the crazy world for a while.
Property was in brand new condition. Everything was clean & in working order. The available AC was great. Alex, our host, was very helpful - answering all questions promptly. If our family travels bring us to Porter Lake next year, we will definitely try to book this property again.
The house and location gorgeous. Wildlife and stars galore. Loons are amazing. I wish it would have come with a canoe. If you like birds and nature, you should be here. My young granddaughters absolutely loved the long deck and screened in porch. And the grassy areas. And the walk by the lake.
As a kid my parents used to take us to Porter Lake swimming. Now over 40 years later, I was able to share this beautiful lake with my wife, daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren.
We loved being able to look out at the lake either from within the house, or from the deck.
The walk to the water's edge provided an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and share nature with my grandson.
Overall, a very enjoyable few days.
A Modern Oasis in the Maine Wilderness: 5 Stars for Secluded Luxury at "Pinewood Retreat"
If you're looking for a getaway that seamlessly blends rustic charm with high-tech luxury, look no further than this cabin in Maine. This brand-new cabin is a masterpiece of design, with floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase the breathtaking scenery and a wood stove that adds a touch of warmth.
But the real magic lies in the amenities. A gourmet kitchen with every gadget imaginable and a smart TV.
It's the perfect place to reconnect with nature and yourself, all while enjoying the latest and greatest creature comforts. I can't wait to go back!
We stayed here for three nights in July 2024. The location was very nice and the house was awesome. Comfortable and all the amenities as advertised. I was asked if I wanted a GPS device when I picked up our rental car in Portland and I kind of laughed and said no. In hindsight it would have proven to be useful as cell signal is spotty as you get closer to the cabin. After a short detour we found the cabin easily. The loons calling brought me back to earlier times when I grew up in Maine. Overall a 5 star cabin and location.

Peaceful and Comfortable
I stayed here with my 3 young granddaughters and my mom. When I arrived late at night, I was met with the most wonderful sounds of wildlife—especially birds including loons, and other wildlife. So beautiful. The home is quite gorgeous and new. Love the 2 story wall of windows facing the lake and the sunsets. We were very comfortable in the 3 bedrooms and bath. Roasted marshmallows on outdoor firepit. And walked a bit around lake, which was wetland and rough terrain, but not hard for us. There is a backup generator that came in handy as there was an issue with an electric pole one day. The kids loved the deck and screened in porch. No complaints.
