Charming little cabin, exactly as listed. You would never know it was a pet friendly property, as it was very clean. I had a problem with the garage door opener, and was able to contact the host with one phone call (turns out that the problem was me, not the device ). The hills were a bit daunting when walking the dogs, but other than that, it was a nice location, very quiet, and around a 15 minute drive to Jim Thorpe.
This property was exactly what we were looking for! We were going to a concert in Jim Thorpe and doing some other activities in the area. The property has plenty of room to do anything. We were able to put the pack and play for the baby in the bedroom and still have plenty of room for everything else. I would only say one negative thing, and it's not even negative. There is a large bump in the driveway, meant for control rainwater runoff, and if you have a smaller car like we did, you can't go all the way up the driveway. That just made the loading and unloading a little bit longer. If we're going to explore the Jim Thorpe area in the future, we would absolutely stay here again!
Do not book this property! When we got there, we noticed right away that the neighborhood was rundown and sketchy. Some of the neighboring houses were boarded up. The plant nearby was also boarded up and its windows are broken. There was trash on the street. It is not in a good area. We feared for our safety. My husband, who normally doesn’t get worried quickly, did not want to enter the property. We tried to ask for a refund since I booked for nine days. Evolve, the property management that the owner uses was “helpful” at first but then a sudden change of tone when I asked why they only reimbursed us such a small amount. I explained several times that we canceled when we got to the place as it was a safety concern. We did not cancel just because we felt like not going but it was indeed a safety issue. We have four children with us. Andrea G. from Evolve was rude and condescending. I then reached out to the owner himself hoping he will be able to help with the issue. He messaged and said that his pay out from Evolve was nothing close to what I paid for. He then continued to say that he can try to refund whatever the booking site paid him. I thought it was going well & would not have to deal with Evolve. Then the tides changed! He says to keep him out of this and to deal with Evolve. I called Vrbo and asked for help. Since they are the 3rd party, they are not able to do anything. Vrbo told me that the refund is solely at the owner’s discretion.Don’t rent this place.
