This property was a total surprise! We loved our base camp here for the week. Spacious, open floor plan. The comfy beds and the kitchen were a great place to hang out (as they should be!) We will be staying here again. LOVED IT!

Full moon mountain wedding
Absolutely beautiful and clean home loaded with indoor and outdoor games for the whole family. A perfect gathering place with so many extras and things not normally found in a rental home. The only thing missing was a recycling bin but that certainly did not take away from a wonderful time! Thank you :)

Perfect Mountain Vacation
This is the second year in a row we've stayed at the Calpine Mountain Retreat, and we hope to be back next year as well. The house is perfect for our family of five with all of the creature comforts of home – high speed internet, a modern kitchen, cozy furnishings, deck with gas grill, and lots of games for the kids. We have family in the area so the cabin has been a perfect home base while we spend time in Graeagle or Salmon Lake, or visiting Sierraville or Truckee. In addition to providing a wonderful home, Mark is a fantastic and responsive host. We're already looking forward to next year!

WOW!
My husband and I like to travel and we have stayed at many vacation homes but with that said..... WOW!!!! This house gives you anything and everything you need from a vacation home. From the well manicured yard, yard games in the garage for you to use to the high end dishes/silverware and cookware in the beautiful huge kitchen. We have never stayed at a home that we needed something we didn't bring and it was provided!!! We will be returning for another stay. Highly recommend this home to anyone that will be in the Calpine area. You will not regret this one!!

From the owner: "Hi Gail, thank you for taking the time to provide a review! I am happy to hear that you and your husband enjoyed your stay. My wife and I treat our place in Calpine with a lot of love and care, and I was thrilled to hear from our cleaning crew that the house was left in impeccable condition after your stay. I look forward to any stays you may have in Calpine in the future, and I hope that you had a safe drive home."
My husband and I travel for fun and have stayed in many vacation rental homes all over. With that said I have NEVER stayed in a vacation rental like this one! This house was immaculate!!!! From the yard, manicured perfectly, kitchen has high end dishes, silverware and anything you would need to cook or bake. Yard games in the garage to enjoy. I was so impressed!! The bathrooms also had items you may have forgotten. I highly recommend staying at this vacation home.
What an amazing trip I had with my hubby and friends. The Calpine Mountain retreat a spacious but cozy place to get away and recharge. We have always enjoyed this area as the Sierra hotsprings are close by. Check in process was the easiest I have yet to experience. Property is nestled in the forest with a village vibe. Neighbors are far away enough to enjoy the scenic view from the deck. Restaurants and stores close by and a list of recommendations from the host. We enjoyed the big comfy couch, fuzzy blankets, and a plethora of games to choose from. Kitchen was spacious with stools and overlooked the living room which was nice for entertaining. Full amenities were stocked and appreciated. The host Mark always responded quickly to txts and made us feel valued. It was sad to leave this cozy place but we look forward to making more memories here in the future!
