We had a lovely, immensely relaxing time at this house. It is a very beautiful house and incredibly comfortable. The views of the lake are spectacular, the grounds are lovely and the weather was amazing.
Beautiful home and perfect get away for our family of 5 celebrating our son’s birthday. Owners were wonderful and the house was exactly as described. Highly recommend.
The house and lake are beautiful and very well maintained. Very much left refreshed and had the ‘off the grid’ feeling as you hope to experience from an Upper Peninsula vacation. We also had an amazing view of the Northern Lights from around the lakeside campfire.
Every thing is as listed. All the comforts of home! Owner responded to my texts in a timely manner when we had questions. A beautiful home with upgraded amenities and a great location, would love to stay again!

Greatest place in the U.P.
Everything is clean and neat. The view is to die for. The lake is fabulous. The R & R i had in a long time. ORV trails are excellent. I spoke with some locals and I'm definitely going to make a winter trip for snowmobiling, skiing, and Ice fishing.

Peace and Tranquility
What an amazing house! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Red Cottage. The description and photos are exactly what you find upon arrival. We stopped in Iron Mountain on the way and stocked up on groceries, because it's very remote and a trip to the grocery store is an hour round-trip. But we knew this beforehand and planned for it. Other than a day trip to Lake Superior, we stayed "home" and enjoyed the rest and relaxation. Thank you!

Relaxing!!!
Our stay at the cottage was so relaxing and everything we wanted plus more!Once we parked on the property we never moved or vehicle until the day we were scheduled to check out. There was no reason to leave and we didn’t even entertain any thoughts of leaving. This cottage is so clean, well equipped in luxury and its waterfront views are very majestic from every window along with the whole property. If you’re looking for a thoroughly relaxed and refreshing vacation, this is your destination. It will not disappoint!
I was nervous when booking this property since it didn't have any prior reviews and looked almost too good to be true. This cottage is everything described and so much more. The home is gorgeous, the lake is clean and perfect for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and just to sit and look at. The property has an amazing kitchen. I packed things not knowing what exactly I would be cooking and cleaning with but this house had everything you can think of and more. I could write a book about what a great time we had creating family memories here. I would absolutely book this property again.
My husband and I went to the upper peninsula Michigan for the first time over Labor Day week, and we only had one review to go on and that review was spot on! The house was more than we imagined. It was beautifully decorated, spacious and clean! The bedding Was amazing… Large closets, and shower tub combo in the bathroom. All kitchen necessities available. The only warning is for those who don't like sleeping without curtains or blinds in the bedroom… Very private, but very sunny in the morning! :-) we loved it! We would highly recommend and would come back!!
Beautiful home with many architectural and Finnish decor touches and a wonderful wooded lake setting. The kitchen is well stocked. This is one of the nicest VRBO's we've had the pleasure of staying in. Our main concern and criticism is that we were unable to get any Wi-Fi access or to use the television. Our phones seldom worked. The owners who live out of the area were unable to help us, which was frustrating. Also, in the interest of full transparency, while the photos show a fireplace, renters should be aware that it cannot be used during your stay. We would still recommend this VRBO as long as you go in knowing these things.

From the owner: “We are so glad you enjoyed your visit, and sincerely sorry the internet was down during your stay. We have since upgraded to a new internet service, which should prove to be more reliable (the TV is also internet-based). Please visit us again!”
Our stay at the Sawyer Lake cottage was nothing short of wonderful. From the stunning natural surroundings to the cozy accommodations, every aspect exceeded our expectations. This charming lakeside retreat is sure to leave you feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and longing to return.
This property provides ample opportunities for outdoor recreation, our favorites - fishing and kayaking. Our family enjoyed paddling along the shoreline, and fishing off the dock. In the evenings, gathering around the fire pit for s'mores was a family favorite.
Sawyer Lake Cottage is truly a one of a kind hidden gem that offers the perfect blend of tranquility, comfort, and natural beauty. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in the heart of Michigan's picturesque Upper Peninsula. The owner/host was most accommodating and pleasant!
We were two retired couples who stayed 18 nights in August at this property and used it as a base to tour the western and central regions of the UP. All of us felt this was the perfect home with plenty of space, amenities and great ambiance. Although some of the places we visited were over a two hour drive one-way, we covered a lot of ground and were able to visit so many of the places on our wish list. On the days we didn’t go sightseeing there was much to be enjoyed staying local. Be it fishing, sitting around the fire pit, BBQ’ing and cooking meals in the well-equipped kitchen, watching beautiful sunsets or doing nothing, we loved the beauty and peacefulness of the location. Even saw deer and turkeys on the property. We didn’t use the canoe or kayaks that were available but the guys did rent a boat from a local marina that was delivered to the Sawyer lake boat launch and they had a fun day cruising the lake and fishing. The property owner was very nice, easy to contact and answered all our questions promptly. We highly recommend this VRBO.
