House is very clean, bed's were very comfortable and has everything you need! Very nice view in the morning with a cup of coffee! We would stay here again
Went up in a groups of 4. Everyone had a bed to sleep on, stocked with plenty of necessities, and was the perfect location for our ice fishing trip. Plenty of ice on the lake and we got into a couple of lake trout. Great place to stay.
We had a nice stay. Great location with direct access to the lake. We enjoyed using the canoe and other water toys. The grill was a bit of a grease fire hazard and needs to be cleaned so we were unable to use it but other than that we had a great time

so much potential, but significant issues
This house is adorable and right on the water. It has a cute Maine feel however the upkeep should be address more frequently and effectively.
House is right on lake
Boat ramp was great
House was just what we wanted
Fit all our needs
Water pump is loud
Location was calm
Thank you for your hospitality
The cleaning wasn't up to par. Windows were dirty with prints all over them and it looked like they hadn't been cleaned this year. The gutter looked like it hadn't been done in years. Lake access wasn't great for swimming but we loved the kayaks. It was nice having 4 beds that were comfortable. We also enjoyed the fire pit and front porch.

Response from VrboOwner on 14 August 2025
From the Owner: "Thank you for your feedback. Our cleaning team services the property after every checkout, and window cleaning is part of their checklist. The property offers lake access for recreation and beautiful views. For swimming, guests can enjoy a small beach located at the end of Milky Way, less than a 0.10-mile walk from the home. It’s a carry-in, carry-out spot and perfect for a quick dip or relaxing by the water. We’re so glad you enjoyed the kayaks, comfortable beds, fire pit, and front porch."
We arrived when electric crews were restoring service to everyone, and when the generators stopped, the sounds of loons and ducks took over. The property is adorable, you are literally 2 steps from the water. We couldn't stop watching the ducks, different birds, a heron parade down the cove. It was also the perfect location to watch the solar eclipse, privately, quietly. The beds were so comfortable, the wood stove took the chill out of the main room, the quiet was just right. It was also just wonderful to go as Spring was starting to emerge.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.
The rental property was used as a home base for family from Houston, TX, Virginia Beach, VA, and Raymond, ME. We gathered in order to fulfill my father’s final wishes (he passed on January 9, 2024) and spread his ashes in his favorite place on earth, Boothbay Harbor, ME. The property itself was in the most beautiful, peaceful setting I could imagine. It was a perfect place for our families to meet. The house itself had some issues, however I feel that this is because it appeared that we were the first visitors in a long period of time. Overall, I am hopeful that my contact with the property manager during our stay will help to rectify those issues and this home in one of the most peaceful locations I have ever visited will be a place others can enjoy for a long time to come.

Lovely setting
We attempted to get an early check in very early in the reservation process but never received acknowledgement of this request until about 2 hours before we arrived at the cabin. While the cabin location on a lake was very nice, the condition of the cabin when we arrived was not good. The countertops were dirty, appliances were somewhat greasy, the garbage can in the garage had not been emptied, and the furnace and water heater were rather loud. The extras such as the watercraft, the fantastic setting on the lake and the solitude at this time of the year were very nice.

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
The house is right on the lake which is nice however if you’d like to swim this portion of the lake is very shallow so it is not ideal. The cleaning fee is quite large so I expected a spotless house but there were cobwebs, a half drunk soda can and some leftover items either from the cleaner or previous guests. The bedding & towels might have been clean but they were stained. Beds were old & uncomfortable. I slept on the couch because there were so many bugs in the downstairs bedroom. We used the grill but it took a really long time because only the front burner worked & the house had no matches or starter so I had to take a walk to ask a neighbor. When we were outside things were pleasant but some minor updates would make a huge improvement.
