Welcome to Central Coast Country Retreat, a spacious 2,850 sq. ft. country getaway set on a beautiful 14-acre property in the breathtaking Avila Valley. Surrounded by the natural beauty of California’s Central Coast, this peaceful retreat offers the feeling of being tucked away in the countryside while keeping you close to the beach, wineries, dining, shopping, and some of the area’s favorite attractions.

The location makes it easy to experience the best of the Central Coast. Avila Beach and downtown San Luis Obispo are just a short drive away, offering beautiful beaches, restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and year-round Central Coast weather. Sycamore Mineral Springs, the Bob Jones Trail, and Avila Valley Barn are all less than a mile away, with golfing, wine tasting, hiking, and local dining nearby.

Plenty of Room to Gather

This expansive 3-bedroom, 2-bath home comfortably accommodates families and groups with generous bedrooms and multiple spaces to relax together—or spread out when you want a little extra room.

The oversized primary bedroom provides a spacious private retreat. A second bedroom features a comfortable queen bed, while the third bedroom is ideal for families or kids, with full-size bunk beds plus an additional twin bed.

Throughout the home, you'll find plenty of space to settle in, including a welcoming living room, separate family room, formal dining area, fireplace, flat-screen televisions, full kitchen, and multiple lounging areas.

Stay in Avila Beach

We had the most incredible stay. The property was amazing, we had so much fun playing badminton, connect four, and cornhole on the lawn. The house was perfect to cook dinner as a family, and the hot tub on the cold mornings was amazing. A great property, would love to stay again in the future.

Perfect Avila Valley Getaway!

Our family enjoyed our stay in this charming, well equipped vacation rental. It was very quiet and private, but close to family and friends in the area. We would love to come back on our next trip to the Central Coast!

The property was great for a short getaway with our family. The kiddos loved the backyard activities. The house is BIG- as others said the pictures don’t do it justice. Beautiful rural setting for relaxing times with family!

This is such a lovely property, huge house and even better yard (agree with others that photos do not do it justice). Tons of backyard games, big open lawn, nice hot tub, very quiet setting. Cathy is a wonderful host, we forgot our Pack n' Play and she came over at moment's notice to find one in the house we could use! Would definitely stay again

Great family vacation house

We rented the house for my son’s graduation weekend from Cal Poly. The house is comfortable and the quiet and the beds were great. But the real star of the house is the backyard. It is a beautiful country setting with lots of space to sit and visit. Plus there is badminton, come hole and a spa. We really enjoyed our time at this house.

Amazing Weekend!

Our son graduated from Cal Poly and we had a great time at the house. The backyard was so much fun and we spent most of our time outside. The house was very clean and had everything we needed to cook.

Wonderful gem!

The pictures of this property and home don't do it justice. It has absolutely beautiful and peaceful surroundings, while the house itself it quite large, with lots of room to spread out and relax. We saw deer in the evenings, and enjoyed the sounds of the birds in the morning. Overall, an amazing stay!

We had a wonderful family stay. The house and the property were great. The house is much bigger than the pictures. The location was very close to Avila beach and San Luis Obispo. The property was very private and unique. It felt very private.The frogs will sing you to sleep!

Super cute comfy home

The pictures online do not give the house enough credit once you see it in person! The check in/out process was super simple and easy and the host stayed in contact with us the entire weekend to make sure we had what we needed! The home is a little older but it definitely gives it a “homey” feeling. Literally 5 min drive to Avila beach which we enjoyed! Loved that they had games outside to play as a family! We couldn’t figure out how to use the hotub so we left that alone, but other than that, we enjoyed our stay!

Absolutely stunning!! The photos don’t do this property any justice. This house is beautiful and spacious and the yards are wonderful, and the tree-lined drive way is remarkable. This property isn’t walkable, but everything is a very short drive away. (5-10min) Highly recommend this property. Would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable and spacious

We loved the house. It had multiple, wonderful sitting areas with super comfortable chairs. The backyard was big and equipment for several different games (e.g., corn hole), a BBQ, hot tub and a comfortable, shaded sitting area. The King bed was comfortable. The kitchen was equipped for just about anything you'd want to make. The grounds were lush with flowers everywhere.

A LIttle Piece of Heaven

The house and property were wonderful!! The location even better! A short drive to San Luis Obispo, Avila and Pismo, but feels like being in the country. Plenty of seating for all 8 of us together both inside and outside, which doesn't happen very often. We spent lots of our time outside enjoying the perfect weather. The fire pit, hot tub and outside games added to the enjoyment. We will definitely be back.

Today, the Clarks still live on the property on a separate lot and are happy to share a place that has meant so much to their family for so many years. They love knowing that guests can now experience the beauty of Avila Valley, explore the property, and enjoy the beaches, trails, wineries, and relaxed Central Coast lifestyle that their family has enjoyed for decades.

Their hope is that during your stay, the property feels like a place where you can slow down, spend time together, and make a few special memories of your own.

Why they chose this property

We chose this area because it truly offers the best of the Central Coast. See Canyon and Avila Valley have a peaceful, country feel surrounded by rolling hills, orchards, wildlife, and beautiful scenery, yet you’re only minutes from Avila Beach and downtown San Luis Obispo.

What we love most is how much there is to enjoy right nearby. You can spend the morning walking or biking the Bob Jones Trail, visit Avila Valley Barn, relax at Sycamore Mineral Springs, enjoy local wineries and restaurants, or head down to the beach for the afternoon.

After living here for decades, we still appreciate the quiet mornings, beautiful evenings, and slower pace of the valley. It feels tucked away from the busier parts of the Central Coast without actually being far from anything—and that is what has made this area so special to our family.

What makes this property unique

What makes our property special is the space, history, and setting. The home sits on a beautiful 14-acre property in Avila Valley that our family has cared for and enjoyed since the 1980s. We designed the home and landscaping ourselves and raised our family here, so there is a lot of history and many wonderful memories throughout the property.

Guests have room to truly enjoy the outdoors, with walking paths, fruit trees, native wildlife, a private pond, and plenty of open space to explore. The backyard is made for spending time together, whether you’re relaxing in the hot tub, gathering around the fire pit, playing games on the lawn, or simply enjoying a quiet Central Coast evening.

Inside, the 2,850-square-foot home offers something that can be hard to find in a vacation rental—plenty of room for everyone. Multiple living and gathering spaces make it easy for families and groups to spend time together without feeling crowded.

Perhaps what makes it most unique is that you can enjoy the peace and privacy of a country retreat while still being just minutes from Avila Beach, San Luis Obispo, wineries, trails, dining, and many of the Central Coast’s favorite destinations.
