About this property

Kanuka Cottage - adorable tinyhouse in Pukerua Bay!

This self-contained, 1 bedroom tinyhouse is located on a quiet cul-de-sac in beautiful Pukerua Bay. It's the perfect spot for a cosy getaway on the Kapiti Coast or a work trip to Wellington.

For holidaymakers, it is only 1 minute walk from the start of the famous Escarpment walkway, and a 5 minute drive from the beach. For workers or concert-goers, this home-away-from-home is 5 minutes walk from the train station where you can catch a 30-minute train to central Wellington and the stadium.

The kitchen is fitted with an induction cooktop, full sink, oven, microwave and under-bench fridge.

In the living space, there is a fold-out work desk and a comfy sofa to relax in front of the TV. The bifold doors can open right out to the private patio and lawn for those warm days. For the cooler days/nights there is an electric heater that can be set on a timer and is sufficient to keep the house toastie.

The bedroom has a comfortable king bed and wardrobe. The bathroom opens from the bedroom and has a shower, heated towel rail and toilet. The shower has an adjustable, handheld shower head that has great water pressure.

A washing machine, dryer and iron can be accessed at the main house on request.

Guests have private access to the whole tiny house at the back of the main house where we live. Access to the tiny house is via stairs to the side of the main house on the property.

We can be available as much or as little as you need us. We live in the main house, but you will rarely see us if at all. If you need assistance we are most likely on hand however, unless you prefer otherwise we will respect your privacy and won't disturb you.

There is some train noise. Most trains are electric so not very noticeable but there is an odd cargo train a few times daily as well as the capital connection in the late afternoon.

Relaxing getaway
The tiny house was a perfect place for us to stay for a night, beautifully clean and great shower. My hubby enjoyed using the little pod coffee machine. Sitting in bed, sipping coffee, looking out the strategically placed picture window down through the bush valley to a glimpse of sea and Kapiti island started my Mother's day off so nicely. Thank you Ellie, we will certainly book here again.
