About this property

Family cottage private beach, volleyball, fire pit

Little ones play on the beach, while older ‘kids’ jump off the dock, all enjoy a fireside marshmallow roast at sunset and a volleyball game in the morning. Kitchen space for more than one cook at a time, and terraces to sit and watch all the activity from a distance if you prefer.

Lake Chandos is the largest land locked lake in the Kawartha's. There is a public boat launch, and 3 Marinas if you have a boat. Apsley is the nearby town (<10 km), and you will find Sayers Grocery Store, and IDA, a public library, and other local businesses.

The beach is equipped with chairs, sand toys and an umbrella. The water off the dock is about 6'. Life jackets, beach towels and a Kayak are available for use.

Large open kitchen for cooking for your family group, with a BBQ nearby on the deck. Dine inside or outside on the terrace.

Terrain - ground surfaces are often uneven and slippery when wet. Steep hill - 4 wheel drive required to access area closest to cottage
Garbage handling - food cannot be left outside overnight as it will attract wildlife. All screen and solid doors should be closed if not in use
Water source is a well, the fill rate ia considered quick. However, unlike city water supply the volume is limited - please read House Manual.

Relaxation Cottage Stay

My family had such a wonderful stay. My kids had a blast swimming on the dock while the adults were fishing. This beautiful cottage was the best vacation away from the city.

We stayed at this wonderful cottage with a large group and it was absolutely a joy to be here for the few days we stayed. From enjoying the lake at the dock to the sunset fires in the evening and playing a game of beach volleyball before dinner, this cottage had it all. Would definitely rent again in the future!.

This was a terrific place for our multi generation summer gathering. The cottage was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. There were multiple areas to gather and play giving everyone the chance to relax or participate as they chose. Diane was a terrific and responsive host. We look forward to returning.

Our family has cottages on Chandos Lake for over 70 years. Our original cottage was getting small with a growing extended family and this nearby cottage was recently purchased to provide extra space. However, we do not need all the space all the time.

What makes this property unique

This property is unique as it offers a peninsula of land in front of the cottage that provides space for a recreation - a sandy beach for little ones and getting in and out of kayaks, a sand volleyball court, a lakeside firepit and a dock to sit on or jump off.
