We found the aesthetic and layout odd. Table pushed up against the wall. Sofa on the side and not really a comfortable place to be. We were only there for one night so it was fine.

The ac would suddenly stop working and the host was extremely rude
We were incredibly disappointed in the house we stayed at. We went to Vancouver for a boat trip to see the fireworks and wasnt able to check in until 12am after the event was over. When we first started the air conditioner in the top bedroom, it was working for about 30 mins - 1hr but then it started blowing hot air into the room. We tried to fix it and nothing worked so we couldn’t fall asleep all night because the room was so hot about 80F, about 27C and we couldn’t open windows because of the AC. We were sweating all night. When we checked out we called the host to let him know the air conditioner was broken and asked for a partial refund. The host didn’t believe the air conditioner was faulty because he said it’s working fine now. We spent almost an hour on the phone with him two different phone calls explaining our situation and he said we had to have proof to prove it was faulty and told us we should have contacted him in the middle of the night (then there is proof) which was ridiculous because first it’s in the middle of the night and we had a baby with us. We were very disappointed in the service and we wouldn’t lie about a faulty air conditioner. Paying $520 a night, it was a terrible experience and we’ve stayed at many rentals, and never experienced a host like this one.
