We planned a family weekend in relatively nearby Milledgeville, about a 30-minute drive away, and wanted a fun house off the beaten path where we could relax after an afternoon in town. This cute, quirky house was perfect for our needs. There were plenty of beds for our party of six, and we were able to put the boys in the loft, the girls downstairs, and the parents in the one bedroom. The open floor plan and single bedroom meant there wasn’t much privacy, but since we were only staying a couple of nights, it really wasn’t an issue for us. We managed the unique stairways (even with luggage) and enjoyed the creative architecture throughout the house. The view was stunning, and there were plenty of kayaks and tubes for water play. The TV was also all set up so the boys could watch football on Sunday. The hosts thoughtfully left snacks, and we had all the dishes, appliances, and table space we needed for three family meals at the house. We also enjoyed dinner at Amigo's at the Cove, which was only about five minutes away.It was exactly what we were looking for and made for a fun family weekend with some great memories.
Spent fathers day weekend. Plenty of amenities for the beach in the backyard. Beautiful sunset.

What a view!
The house was beautiful, our family had a wonderful time swimming, fishing, and just relaxing. You could tell the owners put a lot of work into making this house a home. The view from the back porch is one of the best we’ve had on the lake. We would love to return in the future.

Perfect family vacation
Cabin Jaks was absolutely beautiful! The house was clean and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed family game nights, with board games that were on site, kayaking (provided ) roasting s’mores on the fire. Everyone enjoyed swimming and fishing on the private dock/beach. We went tubing on the lake. If you’re looking for the perfect family vacation, look no further!
I was trying to keep my expectations real for a dog-friendly lake house that was reasonably priced, but we were disappointed. On the up side, the property is mostly as shown, the main living spaces were clean, and the place does have everything you need. My kids enjoyed fishing off the dock one night and I took out one of the little kayaks. However, there were some minor issues having to do with the dirtiness of the front room/porch area (where the life jackets hang), the indoor ladder (not steps) to the lower level (an issue for us since it rained most of the first day- our dog could not safely navigate), and the path to the water that could use some attention. Our biggest issue was that on our 2nd day there, a bright green algae bloom-- toxic, possibly, when we searched online-- appeared by the beach and under the dock. This is obviously not the fault of the owners, but apparently it's more likely to happen in places where water is warm and stagnant, like this cove. Since we were there to enjoy the lake, it meant that our trip was over. We left early and were not given a refund, although the property managers were polite about it. Anyone who opts to stay here should consider buying the trip insurance so they won't have to be sad about losing their family vacation and their money.

Beautiful home!
It’s an absolute beautiful property! My family and I had the best time. My children loved being able to fish and kayak. My fiancé and I loved the privacy and that our kids had their own “private cove” to swim in. One of my children were unable to swim but, he was able to stay entertained with the fishing, board games and air hockey table. The host was very responsive and went above and beyond our expectations and request. We look forward to visiting again!
Upon pulling up to the house I was immediately smitten with the uniqueness of it! Entering the house was easy, once inside I was satisfied with my choice. We had a great time, it was right on the lake with a private beach and we enjoyed swimming in the lake . There were plenty of lake toys. The home was well equipped with dishes and cooking supplies and also cleaning supplies! I always bring my own so that was a perk!! The dining table was big enough to fit my family for dinner and games!
This is a wonderful property. Spectacular view of the lake. We enjoyed watching ospreys hunt from the deck. It’s very well appointed. There are lots of things available for you to do if you need that. We brought our adult kids and we were able to spread out. The beds were comfortable. It IS a good deal out of the way (just under 40 minutes to the Kroger or Publix in milledgeville—didNot check to see if Sparta had closer options.) But this isn’t a problem if you plan. We enjoyed this and didn’t want to leave. We will definitely be back.
