Beautiful house on the cleanest lake!! There are LOTS of stairs to the lake and into the cabin itself. Big open living space and a fantastic family kitchen.

Lovely Rustic Retreat. Excellent boat dock. Somewhat remote, with at least a 10 mile drive to limited restaurants in Ticonderoga. One hour drive by car or boat to Lake George Village.

Response from VrboOwner on 27 September 2025
From the owner: “We’re glad you enjoyed the rustic charm of the home and the excellent boat dock. As noted, the location is intentionally remote on the quieter side of Lake George, which many guests love for its peaceful setting. We’re happy to hear you had a lovely retreat.”
Absolutely gorgeous property with views you won't believe. Loved spending time on the dock fishing and just enjoying the scenery with my kids and husband. There was room for our big family, and our teenagers were able to have their own space at night. Our family could come here over and over again, five stars all around.
The property is very nice and the views were outstanding. I would definitely recommend this property, wonderful experience.

Best place in the lake
We loved the place, so lovely, quiet, clean and beautiful view of the Lake, everything was perfect. House is in a deep area of the woods but once you are in place nothing else matters, host were great with us, definitely if I want go again to the lake I would pick this house.
This property is hidden in the trees above Lake George. Outfitted with everything you need. Be sure to bring your 4 wheel drive, as the driveway is very steep!

I have now spent nearly two weeks trying to get a response from the owner, Vbro and Sykes Cottages. I didn't want to post a bad review and have tried every possible way to get my concerns addressed but to no avail. This is a beautiful big light filled house, perfect for large groups. Unfortunately it did not match up to the the standard we expect from Vbro, particularly at this price point . We have stayed in another large house in Llandudno - half the price and a much higher standard. The front entrance is scruffy . The bathroom ceiling on the top floor is cracked and peeling. The whole house looks as if has just had a load of white paint thrown at it, with paint splatters all over the floor. Door knobs are mssing or loose. The outside area at the back is unappealing and scruffy. The kitchen is poorly equipped. There was no bread knife and no knife sharp enough to even cut a tomato. We had to go out and buy a set from Argos. There weren't any large serving dishes or platters. For coffee there was only one small cafetiere. The very first evening we noticed a problem with one of the toilets not flushing. I sent a message to the host when it became apparent it was completely blocked. This was quite late in the evening but when there was no response in the morning I phoned the caretaker. She came round and arranged for someone to call. They came as we were preparing dinner, and we had toilet water pouring the ceiling as we were trying to cook.I could say more but no space.

Best aspect of the rental were the quality of all fixtures in the shared space and the view.
My group of three 50-somethings enjoyed this property immensely. It was a beautiful home, with magnificent views of the lake, and so blissfully quiet. It was an ideal place to stay.
