About this property
Amazing Direct Ocean Front Condo - Beautiful Sunsets, watch dolphins and whales
Welcome to my Sea Village home on the ocean. This beautiful, 1 bedroom condo is waiting for you to enjoy your island stay. An amazing location with a ground floor entrance, no stairs to climb! Yet, on the other side, the ocean front lanai sits 25 feet above the sea wall! A very special place to spend time. Panoramic views out over the Pacific Ocean and across Kailua Bay to Kailua village beyond. Watch the maritime activities from para-sailing to dragon boats. Spinner dolphins are regularly seen and in season...whales! Watch and listen to the waves splashing on the sea wall below. Be watchful during high surf, you could get wet!
When you decide it is time to go inside a very nice home awaits. The living area is open and decorated in a tropical style. While the sea breezes flow through the unit nicely, there are portable air conditioners in the living room and bedroom when truly needed. Of course, there is high speed internet, wifi and cable tv too. A full kitchen is well equipped for those who want to enjoy meals here. The bedroom, keeping with the tropical theme has a king size bed for when you need to call it a night.
A very convenient location about 1 mile south of the village. Close to town yet seems miles away. It is a comfortable walk to and from that takes me 20-25 minutes. The Kona Trolley is another option. The trolley runs along Ali’i Drive from Keauhou in the south past Sea Village to the village and beyond. I do recommend a car though. Plenty of free parking for guests close to my front door and also in the village. A car will let you get out farther to explore the island. There is so much to see and do.
The Sea Village complex is a well-designed and maintained property. It is set back from the main road protected from the traffic sights and sounds. All around are well maintained gardens and tropical plants. It is designed around a common center area. A very nice grassy area for families to enjoy. Picnic tables and gas grills to bring people together. A great place to share meals, watch beautiful sunsets and meet other guests as well as homeowners. Just below that, at the oceans edge, is the pool and spa.
At the entrance to the complex is the Green Flash Cafe. This tiny place is great! Of course, they have fresh Kona coffee. Also, tea, smoothies and milkshakes. Breakfast items, paninis and fresh pastries......all wholesome and healthy. This is a small place though and everything is made to order. Get some coffee and wait outdoors while your food is being prepared. Or, maybe phone in an order.
Kailua-Kona is a popular vacation destination on the west coast Of Hawaii, the big island. Built around Kailua Bay, in 1812 became the home of King Kamehameha the Great. The village is usually very mellow with a small town feel although in October is the Ironman Triathalon World Championship! If you plan on attending the event you must do it way in advance.
Throughout the year the area offers its visitors many things to do. There are many shops along Ali'i Drive to visit, the monthly art fair to attend and farmers markets to buy local fruits and vegetables. Many restaurants for all tastes, from fine dining to fast food. Also search out some of the local hidden places! Marine activities of all sorts: swimming, snorkeling, surfing, deep sea fishing, night diving with manta rays, para-sailing and more. Land based activities such as tennis, golf, cycling, hiking, museums. And for some....just relaxing......sitting on the lanai, a beach or a pub, watching the waves roll in as the sun sets over the ocean.
Much in the news in 2018 was the Kilauea Volcano eruption. The activity the past year has ceased and the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park has re-opened for guests. I highly recommend a trip to the park and the Volcano House. Highly educational and the view of the Kilauea Caldera is awesome!
If you are looking for a slice of paradise, you have found it here! The peacefulness of being on the Ocean at Sea Village, with great restaurants and shopping nearby, will have you spoiled.
I am the owner and manage the property with my brother. The photos are real and are of the condo you will be staying at if you reserve it. I get asked that question regularly. I have received many compliments and 5 star reviews from my guests. My goal is to provide the best accommodations I can.
Aug.15, 2023......We have all heard the news about the devastation of Lahaina on the neighboring island, Maui. I am pledging 10% of my rental to the relief efforts there. I would like to ask all who read this to offer help too. Please respect their sorrow, especially if you are heading to Maui. Mahalo

About the host
Hosted by Michael

I retired at the end of 2016 after running my business over 32 years. I am not one to stay idle and looked forward to new pursuits. I love the Big Island and have family in the vacation rental business and joining up with them was a good decision. I am currently living in the San Francisco Bay Area while I wrap things up here. I have 3 senior dogs that wouldn't make the move well, so I am here for them for now, but spend time enjoying Hawaii as well.
Why they chose this property
The Ocean! The Views! When I first walked out onto the lanai I knew this was a special place. I could spend hours out here watching the waves splashing against the seawall below. Located at the end of the complex, it seems isolated and quite private, yet less than 1 mile from the activities in town.
What makes this property unique
Enjoy the Ocean from your Lanai. The walk into Town isn't far and many enjoy doing it everyday. Some guest's choose to stay without renting a car, but with all there is to do on the island I recommend one. Parking here and in town is easy. Sea Village is in a wonderful location and Activities, Shopping, Restaurants and more are Nearby.
