Automated check in process

As first time users of the computerized check-in process we found it confusing. It would have been helpful to have been able to received instructions on the process on-line at the time we made the reservation. We did not have email access prior to our arrival. Also, in our unit it would be helpful to have a card on a table displaying the WIFI internet address and password. As it was in very tiny font it was eventually found on the modem in a cabinet. We weren't informed of the one and only guest book that exists in the lobby. It would be more helpful and convenient to have one these books in each apartment.

Overall, we had a good stay. The unit was spacious, the beds comfortable. We did not use the balcony due to the weather however judging from the road traffic it would have been quite loud…with a beautiful view. We found a number of stores /shops and good restaurants close by that we enjoyed. The only suggestions I would make with the view, the windows need to be washed more often or replaced. Eyre square would be too far to walk to in inclement weather however there was always a very short wait for an Uber.

The location is very good but it is on a busy ocean front road with noise throughout the night. There are people talking very loud on the street and even in apartment balconies during night. Access to groceries was very convenient.

When I got here I found out that after 9pm there is no hot water. You need to boost to get hot water for 30 minutes at least PER PERSON. There was 4 of us staying here and I had to take an ice cold shower every single night. In addition there is no AC in the unit. We needed

Comfortable stay with an amazing view

Spent 4 days at this place and when we were not in the water steps away from this place we were enjoying the view from the big windows and balcony. Looking forward to coming back again. One note: Vrbo app showing that check out was 11 am when we booked and stills reflects 11am on the app and on the confirmation but email communication the day before check out stated 10. I was able to message the host and there was quick reply however house keeping did come at 10 even when host said 11 was not a problem. House keeping was rushing us but our clothing was just finishing a drying cycle and the door was locked but to be clear the host and stay was 10/10 and we did stay until just before 11 am. I understand there was a misunderstanding between housekeeping and host but this did not damper the amazing stay we had. (Adding screenshot of posting showing 11 so it can be changed if it’s not accurate)

spacious and great location

Staying in Salt Hill is great. 30 minute walk to downtown Galway, right on the beach, pubs and restaurants nearby. Check-in was easy. Instructions said I would get info 3 days in advance, but it came the morning of. It is all automated. They do have a property manager on site if you have an emergency. The rooms are large and clean. Beware that traffic is INSANE on a sunny day! Parking under the building is very tight, and while busy, we always found a space.The key cards stop working at check-out time, and I was in the middle of loading my car. Had to get the property manager to let me in. They were very fast and helpful.

Not What I Expected

I received one notification that checkout was 10:30 and another notification that checkout was 11:00. It was about 10:35 and I was taking things to the car. When I came back to the room the key card had been deactivated. Thankfully my friend was still in the room !!!!This is the ONLY place I have stayed that did not supply a roll of paper towels. There was not a dish drain basket for the dishes and only ONE (1) dish drying towel. There were no supplies such as coffee, tea, salt and pepper etc… which have always been in other VRBO.The dining table was wedged between the wall and the end of the sofa.The lighting was very POOR !!!! This place was absolutely bare bones !!!!!

Schöne geräumige Wohnung mit Meerblick. Die Bilder sind zwar etwas hübscher, als die Wohnung tatsächlich ist. Aber alles im Rahmen. Gute Küchenausstattung mit großen Töpfen. Backofen sehr sauber. Bäder in gutem Zustand. Kostenlose Oarkplätze im Hof. Wir würden jederzeit wieder hier mieten.

Clean but needs some TLC

Apartment was clean but needs some updating and maintenance. Be aware this is in a very touristy and loud promenade. Noisy in the evening and in the morning when deliveries were made. Window locks were broken, balcony chair was broken. Check in was very easy. View was gorgeous.

A fab time in Galway

We have to say our stay in Galway was great! The apartment was spacious, well appointed, with a very large kitchen (yes!), and balcony with views of the ocean - we could not ask for more. We would definitely recommend this property - AND it came with parking - yes!

Great olaxe

The location was great. Walking distance to a lot places we wanted to go. Right across the street from the water and the walkways along the water. We really enjoyed our stay there. I highly recommend this place.

Very Convenient Location with Great Views and Amenities

Very convenient apartment with terrace, with bus stops and numerous restaurants, cafes, and pubs within easy walking distance and a short drive into city center. Good area and secure, on-site parking. Very clean and well kept. Very prompt response to a request upon arrival. Host/Vrbo provided detailed info up-front, including instructions on driving, arrival, check-instructions, parking, and washer operation. We'd definitely stay here again. Suggest having coffee pods or instant coffees on-hand.

Convient location in Galway and a great Location on Salthill Prom

We were happy with our stay at Galway Bay Apartments. On a scale of 1 – 10, we’d give the overall stay an 8 Pro: - clean - good location: just in front of the Salthill promenade. Ocean view. Plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby. Convenient store (SPAR) just steps away. For a larger selection of groceries, there's a supermarket a 15-minute walk away (Tesco). - The bus stop for line 401 to the town center is right outside the apartment. This bus takes you right into the heart of Eyre Square. From here you can catch the train to Dublin or buses to the Cliffs of Moher or Connemara. Taxis to Galway town center are readily available, costing approximately €15 from the apartment. Alternatively, it's a pleasant 15- 30 minute walk to the town center - wi-fi, plenty of tv channels - Great Kitchen set up for preparing meals at home for small groups. Con: - The functionality of the hot water was inconsistent at times (management addressed the concerns raised) - The back room can experience occasional noise late at night from guests passing (earplugs recommended for light sleepers)

Convenient but not great

My family stayed here for 4 nights while in Galway. The apartment itself is outdated, run down and in need of some serious TLC. It was a convenient location that enabled us to make the most out of our time in Galway. I did not have any interaction with management after the booking process. The "timer" for the hot water is absurd. 4 people trying to take showers and unable to do so. The "boost" for the hot water heater did not seem to work. I did not call management (we were so busy and rarely in the apartment other than to shower/sleep). Initially we wanted to utilize the kitchen and cook while in Galway but the kitchen does not have the necessary items (there were 3 glasses in the entire kitchen). I purchased a sheet pan while there just to make breakfast. No biggie. The laundry closet (and I mean closet) was NOT great. The dryer does not dry appropriately - and there are rules about having clothes dry on the balcony. There is no air conditioning. I realize many areas in Ireland do not. The other places I stayed DID. The view of the bay is fantastic. It was the best part of the stay. It is a high tourist/traffic area and is noisy. I was prepared for that based on other reviews. Having to sleep with the windows open (due to the temperature and no A/C) makes the noise issue even worse. It was nice to see the GARDA station (police station) behind the building. Made us feel safer as the area does seem to be sketchy. Overall enjoyed Galway.
