Nido dei Ciappi is a charming one bedroom apartment located on the ground floor of a historic building in the main street of Barberino Val d'Elsa, in the Chianti area of Tuscany. The apartment has an excellent view of the countryside and private gardens surrounded by holm oaks and cypress trees. Recently renovated, it is furnished with care. From the dining room it is possible to go down to the garden where there are a table, chairs and a parasol to have meals outdoors; passing over a historic loggia opens another green space equipped with sun loungers to relax in the shade of centuries-old cypress trees. Flowers and aromatic plants are available to guests.

Mosquitos and the Nido dei Chiappi

The property has on the whole been brought up to a high standard but we found that the presence of mosquitos - and no screen on the window, or the vent in the bathroom, or on the door - meant that we either kept the door and window closed and sweltered, or we opened the window slightly and spent a proportion of the night killing mosquitos. Barberino itself is very pleasant, and has one very fine restaurant, and is convenient for seeing all the sights of central Tuscany. The mosquitos also prevented us from taking advantage of the terrace, as we were eaten alive when outside.

Apartment in mitteralterlichem Dorf

Ideale Lage für Tagestouren, das Dorf selber ist ruhig, hat aber alles zu bieten, was man benötigt (gute Restaurants, Supermarkt, Cafes, Apotheke). Leider konnten wir den Garten, der deutlich unterhalb des Apartments liegt, wegen der vielen Stechmücken nicht nutzen. Es gab keine Fliegengitter an den Fenstern, unmittelbar hinter dem Schlafzimmerfenster liegt die Terrasse bzw. sitzen die Gäste des Cafes von nebenan, wodurch sich letztlich die einzige natürliche Lichtquelle in der Küche befindet und das Apartement recht dunkel ist.

Schönes, uriges Apartment in einem alten Gemäuer im herzen des historischen Dorfes Barbarino mitten im Chianti! Sehr freundliche Vermieterin, sehr unkompliziert. Gut ausgestattet mit 4-Flammen-Gasherd und Gasheizung, was wir im Oktober sehr zu schätzen wussten :) DIverse Restaurants und 2 Lebensmittelgeschäfte in unmittelbarer Umgebung

Beautiful Countryside Experience

We had a wonderful experience at this property. Very friendly and helped answer our questions about the surrounding area. This property has a great 'vibe' and was exactly what we were looking for after having been in some larger Italian Cities.

Absolut empfehlenswert!

Die stilvoll eingerichtete, gut ausgestattete und saubere Ferienwohnung liegt mitten in der historischen Altstadt des kleinen Ortes. Man befindet sich direkt im hübschen mittelalterliche Ortskern, der traumhaft ruhig liegt, da Autoverkehr nur eingeschränkt gestattet ist. Zur Ferienwohnung, die über eine Wohnküche, Schlafzimmer und Badezimmer verfügt, gehört ein über eine äußere Treppe zu erreichender Garten, in dem man auf Liegestühlen relaxen kann. In unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft befinden sich drei Restaurants, die man alle empfehlen kann. Ein kleiner Supermarkt, in dem man alles Wesentliche bekommt, ist wenige hundert Meter entfernt. Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und zuverlässig, auf jede Anfrage wird prompt reagiert. Wir haben die Ruhe und den toskanischen Flair des Ortes sehr genossen und können die Ferienwohnung uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Fantastic holiday location

Luca met us at the house which had been stocked with water, juice , olive oil and wine which meant we did not have to go shopping.......... The house is ideal with everything you need including a garden where the sun comes round in the afternoon and is a sun trap. The house is located in a small village which is mid way between Siena and Florence so is ideal for seeing Tuscany but village itself has everything you need.

These are apartments that our family has acquired, preserved, and valued over time, and we would like our guests to appreciate our Town and our historic and charming apartments.

After the restoration, the apartment Il Nido dei Ciappi is still characterized by many original peculiarities such as the stone sink, the wooden ceiling and the traditional Tuscan terraced garden.
