Fabulous for Christmas spectacular show

Lovely cosy cottage. Comfortable and some lovely extras. Hot tub which was a great thing to relax in after a day walking in beautiful surrounding areas. Spacious rooms, comfy bed and walk in shower. We stayed in late November as we were going to Christmas show at Thursford, everywhere was Christmassy and beautiful, even a pretty tree in accommodation.

Brilliant and so private

It was lovely and private. You are next to a busy road but didn’t bother us at all as it is all enclosed and no one could see you. Didn’t use the hot tub. It is in a great central area to get to wherever you wanted to travel to. Definitely book again

Absolutely gorgeous place. Everything was so clean and of good quality. The bed is amazingly comfortable. We had our cocker spaniel with us and he loved watching the hares at the bottom of the garden. Will definitely return

A comforting stay in a warm and spacious place within driving distance of the coast and of Walsingha

A comforting stay in a warm and spacious place within driving distance of the coast and of Walsingham (well worth a visit, as was Swaffham). Hare's Home is positioned by the junction of two main roads although we were not aware of the traffic at all indoors, only when sitting in the hot tub, when it hardly mattered! Also enjoyed watching the rabbits hopping around outside. We ate at The Three Horseshoes just down the road, which was special if a bit pricey, and availed ourselves of The Crawfish thai restaurant very nearby on our last night, which was excellent. Our hosts were unintrusive but friendly and we felt blessed to have taken our holiday just before the lockdown. Bit of a shame arrangements to remain weren't finalised! We were having a day at Fakenham races so this was a perfect location for us.

We were having a day at Fakenham races so this was a perfect location for us. It was a very clean and modern place to stay with the added benefit of a hot tub which was lovely to use on a couple of nights to look at the amazing starry skies. There is so road noise at busy periods but that didn't bother us as it was January and mostly we were indoors or visiting beautiful places in North Norfolk. Hares Home was a great base for the Norfolk coast.

Hares Home was a great base for the Norfolk coast. The accommodation was well equipped however there were one or two things missing. No internet, no storage space in the kitchen for groceries, no DVD player in the living room. It was very clean and tidy, even though it is dog friendly there was no evidence of dogs having stayed there, no dog hair, etc. We took our dog with us and the garden is very well fenced and totally secure for dogs of all sizes. There's quite a lot of road noise at times, it isn't constant but because it is a fast road you can hear it quite clearly. I would recommend Hares Home but point out the comments I have made. Lovely little cottage, spotlessly clean with a nice modern bathroom and kitchen.

Lovely little cottage, spotlessly clean with a nice modern bathroom and kitchen. The hot tub is incredible and on clear nights like we had, there is no light pollution so you can do some star gazing - we saw several shooting stars! The owners were very helpful, leaving us a little gift and responding quickly to a text we sent. The location is great, a short drive from the coast and walking distance to the Crawfish Inn which is a pub serving lovely Thai food. However, the cottage isn't as secluded as it looked from the pictures, it sits between two pretty busy roads which are quite noisy at times. Our other criticism was that the cottage doesn't have internet connection (there is 4G) which means that you can't use the advertised smart tv for anything other than Freeview which was a shame as we had hoped to watch a film or two during our nights in and would have maybe taken some board games or something had we realised - can't stay in the hot tub all night! Hare's Home is set in beautiful countryside and very private and peaceful.

Hare's Home is set in beautiful countryside and very private and peaceful. Although the cottage is located on the corner of B1354 and the main A148 road, there is constant noise from traffic 24/7. This didn't cause us too much disruption, as we come from a busy town and are used to traffic. The hosts were very accommodating and easily reachable by phone, especially when we needed directions to the cottage and when the kitchen blind fell down. Hares Home is pet-friendly, yet we found no presence that any pets had ever stayed. There were a number of reviews left in the guest book, who had brought pets, so the place is well cleaned between uses. Overall, it was extremely clean and cosy. 10* for cleanliness. The kitchen is well equipped with most things you would need, including tea and coffee and a cupboard full of cleaning supplies and dishwasher tables & washing up liquid (although, I think these were left by previous guests rather than supplied by the hosts). Our recommendations for improvements would be a Squeegee Wiper for in the bathroom as the water drained rather slowly and at some points, the water did run out of the walk-in shower, additional pizza/large baking trays (limited to 2 small trays), Wi-Fi and slightly clearer instructions for the driveway. The entrance to Hares Home drive isn't easy to locate in the dark and rain, as we arrived late. But this is a benefit once you know where you are going, as it makes the cottage feel more private and isolated, despite the main road. We would have liked Wi-Fi but we were quite content using our mobile phones hotspots. It would have made work emails and access to the internet for university studying slightly easier. Something we really liked was that the hosts had provided every instruction manuals for all the appliances in the cottage. This made things really easy and straight forward. We found the instructions for the hot tub very detailed and straight forward to follow. The Saturday night, we didn't allow the temperature to rise before we got in. Therefore, we found it slightly cooler than we would have liked, but the second night we had turned it up to 39 degrees, which was perfect. We would recommend setting the temperature and leaving the hot tub lid on, then give it 10-20 minutes to warm up/adjust the temperature. Overall, fantastic and would highly recommend!!! Hare’s Home is a stunning new little house, we had an issue opening the patio doors leading to the hot tub which the owners were going to rectify. The house was lovely and warm and the wet room was clean and shiny, although, it would have been nice to find a new toilet roll as opposed to a nearly finished one. It was also a shame that the house had no WiFi. The outside area was extremely dog friendly and very well fenced in, we were also able to walk the dog on a lead in the field leading from the garden area, although our little Jack Russel spent a long time sitting watching the rabbits hopping about, it was a bit like Watership Down. The hot tub was very nice but we thought there should have been a little flexibility with the temperature settings as when we were there in October we thought the water could have been a little hotter. The only thing we were not prepared for was the day and night noise from the heavy vehicles using the B1354 road which runs directly outside the house and the council type depot opposite, which prompted us to come home early.

Wonderful, comfortable and clean, wanted to bring the bed and the hot tub home with us.

Wonderful, comfortable and clean, wanted to bring the bed and the hot tub home with us. Lovely sitting on the patio on an evening with the BBQ and the hot tub watching the rabbits in the back field. Great pub 1/4 mile away serves excellent Thai food, takeaways too, another seafood serving pub only a mile or so up the road. The road a bit busy to walk along however, car recommended to get anywhere. Busy road rather close but we didn't find that intrusive at all. Morrissons supermarket couple miles up the road at Fakenham and many other shops and takeaways there. Within easy reach of the North Norfolk coast. We ran out of time to go everywhere and see everything we wanted to so will be back hopefully. No WiFi when we were there but I believe BT were working hard to get it up and running soon. Garden well fenced to keep the dogs in even our little Jack Russell, Houdini, couldn't escape after we blocked up the one small gap she found. Fixtures and fittings in the cottage far exceeded expectations and the owners seemed lovely and helpful what we saw and heard of them which was very little but we knew how to contact them of needed. We hope to go back in the future and won't hesitate to book Hare's Home again. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
