About this property

23 Bishopgate Street - a family break that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

Introducing 23 Bishopgate Street. A superbly stylish, conveniently located and sumptuously furnished 2 bedroom holiday let. Located on the edge of Bishopthorpe Road, the Notting Hill of the North, the property benefits from being just a couple of minutes walk from all that York has to offer.

With a fully open plan ground floor area incorporating a chic dining area, modern fitted kitchen and designer living space, the house comes with all mod cons including a 55" TV with Netflix installed, a Nespresso machine, PURE radio with bluetooth connection, full size Miele fridge freezer, to name a few. The house can be set up as two double bedrooms, or one double and one twin. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated with a modern, homely feel. The master bedroom has floor to ceiling, hand crafted sliding wardrobes with plenty of space for unpacking those suitcases and a view of York's city walls.

The dining area is filled with art from local, York based artists including a tongue in cheek original painting of tipsy post races goers wandering down Petergate. Thought has been put into every aspect of the interior design of this holiday let taking all needs into consideration. The dining room also houses a wood burning stove to keep you cosy during the Winter.

The back courtyard has outdoor seating for 6 during the Summer months and if you are bringing a dog with you, it's a nice, secure space for them to get some fresh air and stretch their legs.

York Racecourse is an 8 minute walk away so an easy commute for race goers. Whether you are planning a day at the races with family or friends, 23 Bishopgate St is ideally located for you.

Lovely house in cenyral location
Stayed here for week and found the house to be very central to town centre and all the historical sites. Clean, modern accommodation with everything you would need. Only thing I found to criticise was the double bed was quite small for two adults but that's just my personal preference. Otherwise a great property for a weeks break. Thankyou we enjoyed our stay very much. Bishopsgate Rd in particular had beautiful coffee shops and restaurants for eating out.

Best York Location
The house was a wonderful contemporary design with many great design features. The location - across from the wall - and within walking distance of all Yorks' attractions was perfect. The house is located on a street with a selection of great restaurants AND the Pig and Pastry - I am sure the best breakfast in York! The street also has shopping for groceries including specialty shops. Perfect!

York
Access is difficult: why do door handles need to be pulled up to lock? Where are the details for getting in the front door? Why was the access code for the rear gate wrong (relied on next door neighbour to get in!).Who says it has two bathrooms? How do older people take their luggage upstairs? Answer: they don't - they dress downstairs. Why does the Nespresso machine leak water? Despite all that, lovely place to stay, and so very close for a good walk through old York. And last but not least, short walk to the York Horse Races and Park Run.

Perfect location !
Couldn't have wished for a better location, on one side you're right on the wall and seconds into the city center whilst nestled in Bishy a wonderful artisan area with a fabulous range of shops. The property has everything you need and more with a higher than average spec, there's everything you could possibly need and more and everything top quality !! Beautiful artwork throughout .. a private gallery in its own right. Street parking with permit provided was never a problem although no place directly outside to unload the car however that was simply because I was there on a long stay with a lot of luggage. The gated back lane made it feel very safe and secure (although I couldn't seem to understand why the property only came with a key for the back door not the front, also only one key provided so if your group will be entering/exiting at different times I would suggest asking for an additional key). Perfect for a longer stay and this will certainly be my first choice when I return to York !

Fantastic stay!
This was a great base for our three night stay in York. The house was smart, clean and very comfortable. The location is excellent- local shops and cafes but with the city centre an easy walk away. We had no problem parking and the permit was very useful. We will definitely stay again!
